My first experience was with an online order where there was an issue in their system. I have to give credit to the manager for reaching out by text and phone to explain what happened. I appreciated the communication and follow-up. Unfortunately, my experience today around 1:00 PM was very disappointing. I walked in to place a to-go order for dessert for dinner tonight. The restaurant was nearly empty. The host greeted me, and I explained that I wanted to place a to-go order. Instead of offering me a menu or asking what I needed, he walked to the back to speak with another employee. I stood there waiting for several minutes without anyone assisting me. Then another group of guests walked in 5-10 minutes after me, and the host immediately gave them a menu and seated them while I was still standing there. Another employee came over and spoke with the host, but I was still not acknowledged. By the time the host finally asked how he could help me, I was frustrated and simply said "never mind" and left. A host sets the tone for the entire guest experience. Basic customer service means acknowledging guests, asking how you can help, and making everyone feel welcome. Unfortunately, I did not feel valued as a customer today. There are plenty of restaurants in this shopping area that appreciate their guests, so I will be taking my business elsewhere. I came in with little to no expectations and when I realized it was attached to a gas station my expectations went lower. But this place is the prime example of don't judge a book my it's cover. Our waitress was so attentive and made great recommendations I ended up getting the Little Gin Burger with fries and it was absolutely delicious. The patty was well seasoned and the fries were fried to perfection! My sister got the chicken fried chicken and she enjoyed it. If I'm ever passing through I will definitely stop in.
