This is our second time dining at Lindy's This restaurant gets busy but, they are good at keeping the customer flow so wait times were reasonable. Every staff member was polite & attentive. Definitely a small town dinner vibe (not NYC). Our first experience was breakfast & honestly it's hard to mess up. Eggs and home fries were cooked as ordered. Biscuits & gravy was good but a little plain for my taste. My wife's complaint on both visits, the toast was cold (probably sat in the pass to long). She did throughly enjoy her pancake! Light & Fluffy. I had to try the chicken livers and they did not disappoint. Cooked nicely with an enjoyable breading. Mashed potatoes and corn has a semi homemade taste and feel. Overall it was a good dining experience and look forward to trying something else. 3.5 Definitely worth a try! read more

Had lunch here and it was packed, but the wait turned out to be only 10 minutes or so. Worth the wait. Everyone in our party of 4 agreed the food was very good, and the service was great too. Good family atmosphere. read more

The outside needs work. The parking lot was full ( that's always a good thing ) we like to eat at non chain restaurants. The inside was kinda old looking. Everyone seemed nice that spoke to use. My Daddy told me about this place. He & I went for lunch. Liver & onions were the special for the day,so that's what he had. NOT ME..I had the chicken fried chicken w/mashed potatoes & fried okra. Food was great, my tea was refilled often,& the waitress was friendly. What more could you ask for? Closes at 1:45...so,lunch time is crowded. But,the wait was short. Delicious lunch with a large variety to choose from. You know it is a good place when you arrive at 1:30 on a Thursday and the parking lot is still full. We had a group of 6 and were quickly seated. Our server was Lola and she was welcoming and answered our questions. I have a garlic allergy and she made sure that what I ordered was good with the kitchen. They have huge rolls and muffins that they bring to the table. They are delicious. I had a club sandwich and it was a large portion and everyone else had meals such as the hamburger steak and hamburgers and everyone enjoyed their lunch. They do close early during the day so be advised of hours. read more

Restaurant management is inept. When asked why they were selling swai instead of catfish when they advertise catfish because it caused my wife to break out from head to toe. People don't know about swai is it's Vietnamese Cesspool fish basically. Full of mercury lead sodium all kinds of stuff and polluted Waters that they raise them in. When I told him that she broke out from eating it he said tell her don't eat it. A little late, also food there comes out under temperature most of the time. The only redeeming factor or quality of the whole restaurant is the waitresses. Who I feel sorry for having to take so much food back and forth and take the blame for the cooks ineptness. read more

Great restaurant located in the DFW area. I came here during their morning hours for breakfast and was not left disappointed one bit. The staff was very friendly and always made sure I had everything I needed. For the food itself, it was great all around! Also, you definitely get what you pay for here. The two pancakes alone were very filling and much bigger than what I expected I was getting at first. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Mesquite/Balch Springs area! read more

Home Cooking from an old school diner was exactly what we were looking for last Sunday afternoon. While visiting a friend in Mesquite, we decided we needed to eat before heading on the road and she suggested Lindy's. We chose two of the three daily specials... I had turkey & dressing with a choice of 3 vegetables of mashed potatoes, okra, candied yams. Hubby had corned beef & cabbage with greens, yams, mashed potatoes. Our friend had the good 'ol stand by of chicken fried steak. We licked our plates clean with no evidence (no pics) of our visit. Our service was great. Our food was good. We all left full and satisfied. That is what counts when going out to eat. Lindy's for the win on our visit. read more

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. The service is warm and attentive. My country fried steak was really good - a little too much gravy but that was easy to scrape off and did not affect the crunchiness of the chicken fried steak. Mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes were good too. Banana pudding wasn't bad. This might not be the BEST food in Dallas but it's a comfortable spot to grab a solid meal. read more

Passed by this place a million times to go towork or around the area. Decided the night before to try for breakfast on a lark. Glad I tried it. Had the smothered stuffed hash browns. I was served a large portion of hash browns extra cooked, as requested. I forgot to take picture, but there are enough pictures in Yelp already. It looks the same. Best hash browns I had in a while. Tried my wife's pancakes and will order it the next time. Prices are very good in my opinion. Found restaurant to be very clean andninviting. Service was very quick with both order and coffee. Bonton Farms extension is just down the street and this was the most convenient place for miles. It's a straight up diner, no frills and it's been around forever it looks like. Simple diner food, fast and inexpensive. It's not a chain so that's a plus! Support local :) read more

So this restaurant has decided to charge customers gratuity on take out orders without telling them. My mother and elderly woman was charged gratuity at this establishment AND she was tipping because she did not notice. THIS IS WRONG TO TAKE FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS. This is my family and I go to spot for breakfast the waitress are always so nice but today we walked in and the lady at the register already had a attitude. Then when checking out my husband was trying to pay and she said sign this to add tip . So once he sign he asked if that was it she didn't not respond so I asked her and she said yea u didn't leave tip with a attitude (mind you we already gave the tip to the waitress that was serving us ) for her to say that in front of the other customers that were checking out was very unnecessary. read more

The soft drinks had an odd flavor, leaving an aftertaste. We ordered the appetizer sampler and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the platter we received. The onion rings and fried pickles were both good. The French fries were French fries. Then we received our entrees. The Brussel sprouts were overcooked to the point they were flavorless mush. The cauliflower was also overcooked and fell apart everytime I tried to take a bite. The fried green tomatoes were good, leaving me to wonder if the fry cook was the only one who knew their way around a kitchen. The roast beef (SOS) on toast was dry with several pockets of fat and covered in a brown gravy that had a pudding consistency and tasted burnt. My wife and I went to eat breakfast, it was amazing food and the waitress was very nice. When we go to pay the bill i ask for a military discount and the lady proceeds to tell me the owner only gives active duty and in uniform the discount and i believe that is very disrespectful to us veterans. read more

I AM SAYING GOODBYE TO LINDY'S RESTAURANT FOREVER!! On 10/21/2020, I went for dinner before going to church because it was on the way. The male owner was working the front and was having trouble with the new machine that takes the payment. After making several attempts, it needed to reboot. I made a comment to the manager I hope it does not charge me twice. He said it shouldn't but, not to worry about it if it does. Well, it charged me twice for that meal!! I went to Lindy's for breakfast the following Saturday as I normally do and I brought it up to the young lady working the front. She handed me a piece of paper for me to write my name/number and the issue. The manager called me later that night and he recalled the incident when I spoke with him. He told me he would have it looked into once I gave him the information he asked for. As promised, he called back the following Tuesday. As expected, I was told there was nothing on his machine that an additional $8.65 was not taken. My checking account shows it was taken out. He suggested I get with my bank and have it disputed. Well, that did not work because they suggested I work it out with the merchant. I'm not angry with my bank because THEY WERE NOT THE ONES WHO TOOK THE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT! After being a faithful customer for all these years and trying to help promote them during the Covid-19 while waiting for the remodeling to be completed and THIS IS THE WAY I AM TREATED! I'm not asking for a lot. I'm just asking for the right thing to be done! I never asked for the money back! I offered an easy resolution and that was rejected! I will miss the rapport with the staff because they are some fun people! Management has made me angry and I will never darken their doors AGAIN!
