Okay so, we walk in, (we've never been there before) we wait to be seated, nobody says anything to us. We dont see a sign that says please seat yourself, so were just standing. We probably wait about 5 minutes. During that time I'm watching this waitress with red hair put plates of food on her tray to take it to the table and she GRABS with her BARE hands, 2 pieces of bacon and put its on another plate!!!!!! we are in the middle of a pandemic and you're grabbing things off plates with your bare hands!!! That is SO GROSS! We're new to this town and if that's how these small shops are doing things, we will be eating at the chains. So after that encounter, were still standing waiting to be seated and we see this dark haired lady grab a biscuit with her bare hands!!!! Absolutely disgusting. She was just counting money at the register and then proceeded to touch biscuits with her bare hands. Im just so mind blown that this even happened during a PANDEMIC. I recently stop in for a quick breakfast, just a simple bacon, eggs, and hash-browns meal, but what I received was great southern hospitality and great friendships. And to add the breakfast was superb. The bacon was perfectly cooked if you can believe that. Yeah l know how else is bacon supposed to be cooked. In my last review, I wrote this "Owner please address this or when Forney grows more, it will leave you behind", I really didn't think it would be so soon... We first went to Alfredo's for the 1st time about 1 1/2 months ago and it was really decent as my first review states. I am not sure what happened but this visit was a disaster. I am not sure if we will go back here for a very long time... Entrees: I got the chicken fried chicken which was wrong on the first try since I asked for gravy on the side. So I got mine a little later than the other people in my party. Hey, mistakes happen I understand but what they brought me out to eat was plain bad. The chicken was overcooked and very dry. They hadn't clean off the breast so I had a piece of hard fat on one end of my breast. The mashed potatos tasted like instant ones. I also had to wait for the bread since it wasn't cooked and I got this halfway through my meal. My son also got the chicken fried chicken and his sentiments mirrored mine after we ate the meal. My wife got the french toast and it was not as good as last time for her. However, I will say that the waitress we had was very nice and attentive. The 1,000 Island dressing on the sale was watery. Chicken fried steak was decent. Much smaller than the menu photo, but at least it we actual steak and not frozen meat paddies like a lot of restaurants. Green beans were good, but that's not hard to mess up, really. The mashed potatoes were bad. Liquidy and flavorless. No amount of salt and pepper would help. Dinner rolls and cornbread were good. Warm. The boy got hot wings and, to be honest, they live up to the name, apparently. Served only with celery. But, he's dogging them and he's a wing connoisseur. Service was great. Waitresses greeted us at door. Sat and took drink orders. Our food came in about 10 minutes. All correct. I was happily surprised the blueberry pancakes had very large fresh berries. Eggs cooked perfect. Nice and clean. Overall a nice little country breakfast place. read more

This is a great place to eat. Hubby got the banana nut pancakes and sausage. It was absolutely delicious!! I had a bite for my dessert. I got the chicken fried chicken lunch special. It came with 2 vegetables and soup or salad. We both loved what we ordered. Our server was also very good and attended to our every need. 1st time there and we will return many times. I love this place. It is more of a 'diner' than a 'steakhouse'. I eat there at least twice a week, either breakfast or lunch. Staff is always excellent, they know my drink order when I walk in the door. Any breakfast is awesome. As far as lunch I either get the chicken fried steak sandwich or the club sandwich, always with fries, sometimes a side of cole slaw. Veggie soup is great when it's cold out. I was right on the edge of giving this place a 3 from a 4, however the friendly workers made this establishment a 4. They are very friendly and seem like the want to get to know you. I can't believe I haven't rated this place yet! 5 STARS!!! We started going here for after-church breakfast/brunch about a year ago. Well, we are now regulars here. They won us over. We are there just about every Sunday morning. It's the fantastic staff that makes you want to come on in, the service that makes you want to stay, & the food that makes you want to return again and again. My favorite menu items are the French toast and the home fries. The eggs, bacon, & sausage are always good...but I am very picky with home fries...and I never liked French toast until I had it here. I exclusively order it here. The coffee cup is never empty. They have flavored creamers. I mean, what more could ya want? Ha ha. My son will tell you the biscuits & gravy are the best. My husband, like me, is sold on the French toast...and is actually the one who got me hooked on it when he had me take a bit of his. I've heard their dinner is very good, too. Hands-down the best place to eat in Forney! You will not find a better chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken within 50 miles. The waffles and pancakes are awesome. Everything on the menu is mouthwatering and Jerry is an awesome waiter. We go every weekend and he already knows what we want and brings our drink selection before even taking our order. The owner is always very pleasant and the prices are fair for what you get! This is a family tradition and we will continue to go as long as we are here and they are open. read more

I can't relate to any of the negative reviews on this page as everytime me and my family have eaten here has been amazing. The food is always fresh and clean tasting. As I'm writing this review my family and I are enjoying yet another great experience here. The breakfast, which can be ordered all day is the best in town and the dinner is equally amazing. Service is very good as well. Forney is lucky to have a great restaurant like Alfredos. We will continue dining here even if we leave Forney in the future. I would say the food here is below-average. Nothing is ever season properly if at all. The operative word for everything here is blah blah blah. The breakfast is pretty good, but it's pretty hard to screwup your run-of-the-mill breakfast. You basically go here because of nowhere else is down to have a normal breakfast. read more

I have only had breakfast and lunch at this place dozens of times. Nice place, good food, not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination. Inside always appears a little run down and unfinished. Not the cleanest place I have ever been at. Kitchen is in the middle of the diner and looks clean where it counts. Good for breakfast and lunch. I can not speak for their dinner. Plenty of staff and room for larger parties if needed. Parking lot entrance needs to be fixed as there is a big drop from off of the main roadway. I've been here four times with my family. Sometimes the service is prompt and courteous, and sometimes it's a apathetic. The food is alright, but not outstanding. The worst thing about this place is the atmosphere. If you like eating in an environment that's like an echoey garage or a bathroom, this is the place for you. Hard tile floors and bare walls make it a very difficult environment to enjoy a conversation because you hear the echoes of conversations 50 feet away as if they were right next to you. Absolutely no effort has been spent trying to make this an enjoyable eating experience or environment. That's really too bad because Forney is permeated with fast food joints, and a NICE home cooking restaurant is sorely needed here. read more

I have been to Alfredo's for breakfast a few times. Our food was pretty good and it came fast. They don't know what white American cheese is--they give you pepper jack instead. But the staff was attentive and it's a good value for what you get. We will very likely return for breakfast. The lunch and dinner menu didn't look appealing to us so I doubt we'll be back other than breakfast on the weekend. read more
