Amazing place to live. Very roomy. Invited my date over for dinner and she loved it. Owner was friendly and accommodating.

Definitely my supermarket stop when I'm not feeling like going to a Ralphs or Costco type market and just needing to pick up a few items... 3 stars!!! Pretty good selection of everything that you might need at this smaller scale Latino-oriented market, but the standout departments have to be the produce and meat sections. There's always a good variety of produce and meat items available. Just make sure to check for the freshness of the fruits and veggies; some of the not so popular items could be fresher. Also, a trip to Alhambra Market cannot be complete without picking up salsa. One of the best places to get good salsa in Alhambra. Also, during my last trip, I was so happy to notice that they now carry Thrifty's Ice Cream. Although the selection is not as varied as you'd find at Rite Aid, I'm so glad I can get the Thrifty ice cream of my childhood at Alhambra Market. The staff at Alhambra market has always been friendly and welcoming, especially the cashiers. Out of the many many shopping trips, I've never seen Alhambra Market overwhelmingly busy so I'm usually out in less than 15 to 20 minutes top. There's also plenty of parking spaces up front, and adjacent street parking is also available in nearby residential streets.

This is a small business owned by real people. Its not a huge chain store that doesn't care about its customers. Their employees are all friendly and bilingual. They have a good selection of everything you need. The produce is always fresh. They have a great variety of produce, and everything is enormous! The carrots are like tree trunks! The squash is bigger than you can find at any store in a five mile radius. Not Ralph's, not Vons or Pavillions, not Albertsons, and definitely not Food4Less can offer the superb produce and meats Alhambra market has to offer. There's never a long wait for anything. We shop for a family of 9 in less than 20 minutes. I'm making their chicken fajitas, fideo, and calavasitas right now. YUM!

Miao Yun isn't one of those flashy modern markets, it's the kind of place people recommend because the quality is consistently amazing and the owner genuinely cares. & the owner is the sweetest uncle ever! He's attentive, warm, remembers preferences, gives great recommendations, and somehow always steers me toward something good. I usually ask for fattier cuts of meat and he NEVER misses. The quality of the sliced meats here is honestly better and fresher than what I've gotten from a lot of larger Asian markets in SGV, and the pricing is better too. This is basically my one-stop shop for hot pot night. Frozen sliced meats, fish balls, condiments & sauces, noodles, etc... the store has pretty much everything you need. The selection is great and it's easy to walk out with your entire spread planned. Also worth mentioning: plenty of parking in the outdoor lot, which makes stocking up way less stressful. What keeps me coming back though isn't just the quality or pricing - it's the service. In an area with endless food options, it's rare to find a place that still feels this personal. You can tell the owner truly cares that you leave happy. One of my favorite hidden gems in SGV and a place I'll keep coming back to forever

Was looking for the super rare Fanta Shokata, a Eastern Europe Fanta flavor that is Elderflower Lime that's hard to find in the US, but they had it in stock on sale for $3.00. Looked for German Beers and browsed the store looking at the teas and for Pierogies. No German beer so I grabbed some Czech and Polish Lagers for the parents to try. As for the Pierogie front, I would need to go back and double check but they might have ran out of premium flavors and only had Pulmonies left, but even that had interest flavors, like beef and veal. They carry Milka chocolate in several different flavors so I need to come back for a super snack haul with other interesting things to try. They have a nice selection of tinned fish, but I wasn't able to find any shellfish. The store had all sorts of sauces, seasonings, soup bases and ingredients for cooking and baking. They carry a wide variety of meats that looked good as a snack, for a charcuterie board or as a breakfast food item for rice porridge with the tinned fish. All in all, it was a good chance to browse some of the stuff that places like Super King might not carry or that Aldi or Trader Joes doesn't have.

Having gone to mitsuwa and Tokyo central countless times, Tozai really hits the spot when it comes to affordable Japanese food that actually tastes good. My only complaint is that their rice seems a bit overcooked. It's too mushy for my liking. Teriyaki chicken - extremely generous with the rice. The teriyaki chicken actually has a char taste to it which adds so much flavor to the chicken. There isn't too much teriyaki sauce, which I like. Tempura bento - really loved the tempura in here. Everything was fried just right. The batter is crispy and light. It's not greasy at all. The side dishes were delicious. The fried wontons were good but the fried shumai had a bit of a porky taste to it. California rolls - probably the best I've had in a Japanese market. The rice actually has a slight vinegar taste to it, which is lacking at other places. Croquette - it's meatless but still so good. It's potato only but has an occasional cheesy fragrance to it. Definitely coming back again for the food
