A little hard to find, but worth the effort for this delicious poke. So ono!! Super fresh fish and delicious flavor options. One of the best places I've tried. I'll be back for sure! They do have a small indoor seating area, but this place is best considered for take-away.

Salmon Sinigang poke bowl w/ sushi rice - ono!

Must try this award-winning poke shop!!! Had Alii Fish Market on my poke bowl radar for a while, especially after AFM won Frolic's 2026 King of Poke Fest with its chile kaffir lime and lemongrass ahi. AFM is located in Old Stadium Mall in Moiliili. Parking can be a challenge especially during the lunch hour. Use the Young Street parking lot entrance and you'll see it on your right. Look for AFM's flag. There was a short line (that moved quickly), giving us time to figure out what to order. Check their IG post for specials. We've ordered the poke bowls and daily specials (which seem to go quickly). Try the ahi dip - a definite winner!!! There are a few tables to dine in. Will definitely return for more great eats!!!

@fortunefoodfinds: "Congrats on winning FISH place! This year's 2026 Poke Fest winner was alii fish market with their Chili Kaffir Ahi Poke with Lemongrass Shoyu. First bite n' wow I was blown away with the incredible flavor of the lemongrass, never had a poke like it before. Followed by the freshness of the ahi, texture was melt in yo' mouth. I can see why this won first place, so unique n' so delicious, the sauce was even good just over rice. Couldn't stop there so we also picked up Spicy Yuzu Scottish Salmon Poke, which was ono + Spam n' Fish Patty Musubis. Poke so fiyah you're gonna wanna get your hands on these!" SERVICE: friendly INTERIOR: small, walk-in to order only. Small area in between inside n' outside with tables to dine-in. EXTERIOR: in same plaza as Niu n' Fresh Bites WAIT TIME: none PARKING: free lot that gets filled up quickly OVERALL COMMENTS: poke is amazing, especially the two flavors we got during this visit: Chili Kaffir Ahi Poke with Lemongrass Shoyu & Spicy Yuzu Scottish Salmon Poke (both were $12 per 1/2 lb). Since we came a few mins right before closing there was no more onigiri, but instead received yuMmmy spam musubis n' fish patty musubis. Thank you!!

Get plenty of poke options in Hawaii but this place will always be in my top 3. So much flavor and the fish is fresh! You'll also get to try poke combinations here that you won't get anywhere else. But they also serve more than poke. And don't forget to check out what's in their fridge. Their desserts are so good! Parking is limited but that's expected. There's a small area to sit and eat right outside. Staff is always friendly too! I will always recommend this place to anyone visiting Hawaii.

Super sweet family owned business with delicious options for fresh poke. They also offer spam musubi and their famous fish musubi. There's a little area where you can sit and eat with tables and chairs. Service is 10/10. So much aloha in this little hidden gem.

I was absolutely shocked about how good this poke was! Their smoked shoyu ahi was the best ahi in had in a very long time. I was so touched as one of the workers gave me water for free and said it was on the house because my family and I came here often. They have a nice ambiance because they had some pop and other genres of music in the background as you were eating. Overall this local poke shop is extremely delicious! Also don't forget to tip them because they are too nice to their customers!

New flavor drop. Been out for about a month.

As expected. New flavor drop. Lava Poke. Never expected any less from this place. Fresh ask always. Friendly staff and always clean.

Amazing poke with hot items of equal quality. Will definitely go back next time I'm here. This place was highly recommended by a friend, so the rest of us decided to give it a try. The establishment is a little tucked away in a narrow part of a parking lot, but despite its inconspicuous location, the inviting smell that hit my nose before we even walked in was everything but. There was barely a line, and the guy behind the counter was happy to give us samples since it was our first time there. He pointed out their top items, which deserved their place after having just a one-piece sample, but what blew my mind was how great everything else tasted as well. The fish was all so delicate and instantly melted in my mouth. While the seasoning would've normally been a bit much for me, it was tempered naturally by the sushi rice and provided distinguishable flavor profiles for each option. I wish there were more options for salmon, but the one that I did see and get was still pretty good. While I wanted to try the ahi fish patties, fish katsu, and rice combos that they had, I decided on getting furikake ahi wasabi aioli since the seasoned exterior looked so enticing. Final verdict--highly recommend. The seasoning doesn't outshine the fish, and it's not too flaky that you need to be an absolute pro with your chopsticks. I suggest eating it with rice though since it helps balance out the seasoning. While I still appreciate poke from Foodland and Safeway, it's not lost on me how good a hole-in-the-wall food establishment can be. Cherry on top is that the prices are extremely reasonable too. Worth the short drive away from the tourist traps.

Rachel L.

Hole in the wall place- the service was the best we've received and super friendly. The guy was super friendly and gave us a little sample as we were deciding which poke we were ordering without rushing us. I loved the spicy creamy garlic ahi. It was out of this world. The ahi was super fresh. We also got the yuzu and the shoyu. Both were very fresh. We also got the fish patties, short ribs, and the fish katsu, spam musubi, and tuna onigiri. Those were good but not remarkable.

White rice, furikake, lava ahi, creamy garlic, and their award-winning kaffir poke.

I don't know why I bother trying new poke places. In a world where Ali'i Fish Market exists, why would I bother trying to find something else LIKE Ali'i Fish Market???? I like this place since it's only a 10-minute drive and love it for their delicious food. The portions are just right and the poke flavors are elevated from the typical flavors you'll find in other poke shops. My husband and I always get a pound of the lava ahi and one or two other choices. And, can't forget 1, 2, or 3 ahi patty musubis for the ride home

Alii fish market is a tucked away gem. The fish was super fresh and really affordable. Service was fast and friendly. My favorite was the ginger ahi. There's a small parking lot with 1 hour complimentary and lots of street parking. There's a few small tables to sit in the breezeway. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting east Honolulu!

The famous Creamy Spicy Garlic Ahi Poke

Alii Fish Market was my favorite restaurant for lunch while in Honolulu during our recent one month vacation on the islands. Their spicy creamy garlic ahi poke is their signature dish, for a reason. It is so tasty and has just the right amount of spice. I typically can't handle spicy food. The location is VERY local, noting fancy, with very limited seating or you can do a take out. I would recommend waiting for an available table to get the full experience. The owner is Rob, a super friendly Hawaiian, who exemplifies what real aloha really feels like. We felt like family whenever when we ate there. I went there 4 or 5 times for lunch during my one month vacation. Please keep in mind there are hundreds of places to get poke in Honolulu, but if you want to eat where many of the locals go for poke, go to Alii Fish Market.

Eric C.

I've been lucky to enjoy AFM since they opened and really grateful that Chef Rob and team bring us delicious poke while keeping prices reasonable. My family's faves include: ginger, spicy lomi, lava, and spicy creamy garlic. Besides poke, AFM also has a good selection of hot prepared items. The musubi 's are delicious with the veggie (with edamame) being my favorite. They update their IG frequently with specials and current poke prices.

Ginger ahi, garlic ahi, spicy ahi lava poke, limu ahi, ahi patties.

As for the poke, which I did get this time, they let me sample the California, Hawaiian, spicy ahi, and another one which I actually bought but forgot the name. It looks similar to spicy ahi without the super spice. All the poke was super fresh and tasty. The guys working the counter was super nice and they're cutting the fish fresh. Some steamed, some deep fried. It looked so good we had to come back another day. Spoke with the gentleman running the counter and he told us to go to the adjacent seafood monger (same company) and pick your fish. They have all kinds to pick from including shrimp, clams and oysters. Some fish are better suited for steaming versus deep frying. For the most part deep fried fish is delicious but most fish deep fried will lose its fresh taste. The monger said the Onaga fish will have a firm texture when steamed. Once you pick the fish they take it back to the kitchen to prepare it. Pricing is based on the fish per pound and then they add on $10-$20 for the preparation. We ordered a 1.8 lb Onaga fish whole "long tailed red snapper" Steamed... I'm telling you it was fantastic! fresh and flavorful. Got a bowl of white rice as well... dang it was good! The seating area is narrow but a vibrant scene. Was packed and lots of folks ordering from the various other food vendors in the space. Give them a try!

And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab. I thought back then was to look at everything but now I understand that it meant something more..... something special--time with my dad. It's with a sad heart that Tamishiro Market is now closed. Thank you, Tamashiro, for providing quality food and memories for so many years. You were more than a market--you were part of my childhood

We looked at Costco (they had but they were already cleaned and all the good stuff was discarded), Richard's Meat Market and a few stalls in Chinatown. Fortunately I remembered this place and we walked there. Sure enough, they had tanks of live Dungeness crab. Customer service was friendly but a little slow. We were the only customers inside when we arrived but couldn't decide on how many to buy. In a blink of an eye, the place was packed and it took awhile to make our purchase. When we were finally helped again, we purchased two live Dungeness crabs. She gave us two huge ones! Cleaning was offered but my dad said it'll taste better to keep them alive till we're about to eat them. We politely declined the cleaning and paid. Bring cash! I was going to pay by credit card but they said cash. They probably don't want to pay processing fees. The crabs were still moving around on the way home and up till the moment we cleaned them. Seeing the crab cleaning in real life vs YouTube is totally different! It was a quick steam and we had our dinner ready. Don't worry, we also picked up take out from Thai Issan to accompany the crab. Mink made some homemade Thai seafood sauce. It was the perfect compliment to the plump and sweet crab meat. Yes, she made something in the kitchen! Thank social media or YouTube! Great discovery in Chinatown and we'll be back the next time we're in the mood for fresh seafood.

In comparison to Young's Fish Market Beef Stew, Yama's was a real let down. The laulau was undercooked and yet the pork was dry, so out it went as well. I think I will stick with Young's Fish Market for both of those things as they do it perfectly with tender lau laus and moist proteins perfectly seasoned on the inside.
