This is definitely in my top 3 for eating poke this trip. The staff were warm and welcoming we got 4 kinds of poke and the spicy tuna and miso salmon were my favorite. The Hawaiian tuna did not have a ton of flavor for me, but the chunks of fish were big and fresh. Nice spot after Koko Head.

This place was amazing. I mean it was my first time in Hawaii and I heard the Poke is incredible. The parking lot is big, the actual shop is located in a shopping complex type of situation with outside tables to sit and eat. I got the spicy ahi and shoyu tako on brown rice and of course I got a bev. You order out of a window. The food took about 6ish mins to come out? There was a bit of a rush though. Ate w my friend and boy was this meal amazing. Def a place to check out when in Oahu. I'll be back when the time comes.

My husband and I both agreed this was the best tasting poke we had during our trip to Oahu. I tried the spicy and the Hawaiian style and they're both super fresh tasting and delicious! We heard them talking about the fish being caught fresh which was pretty exciting for us. It's pricy but well worth it I think. I would definitely recommend the larger size as the small looked not very filling to me.

Such good poke in a parking lot! One of the best poke spots during our trip. So lucky we spotted the sign on the way to our hike!

We did the hanauma bay snorkeling and lighthouse hike and were super hungry. This spicy salmon poke hit the spot. It was delicious, the fish was fresh and flavorful and the rice was warm. I did it with the furikake or seaweed flakes on it. The service was quick and they were really nice at the cashier. It was a standing business where you order at the window and they have your food out in about 5-10 mins. Some seating around just meant to be a quick bite. We ate in our car and people watched. Great place for some poke and wish we had one back on the mainland :)

I was looking for a place to eat lunch and remembered that know seafood is in Hawaii Kai so perfect! I got the shoyu poke with tempura flakes and avocado. Super good! The poke was fresh and the tempura flakes just made the poke bowl so much better. It's $1.50 to add avocados not bad. The only downfall was that my rice was a little hard.

My girlfriends and I loved Ono! This family owned business is unbeatable. Best poke on the island, hospitable customer service and fast. It's grab and go, with a few tables shared in a strip mall. Tons of parking too. The fish was melt in your mouth, nicely colored, no gristle, nice cuts and good add ins. I highly recommend this place.

Good customer service and the poke was fresh! Super filling & good quality! They don't offer samples, but you are able to choose two choices of poke if you're torn.

Ono Seafood Hawaii is the GOAT poke spot in Oahu!!! No ifs, ands, or buts about it! My wife and I have been to Ono's twice before: once at their Honolulu location and once at this location on East Shore. We like this East Shore location better as it's not nearly as hectic. The Honolulu location is their OG spot, but parking is extremely limited and is always mobbed by tourists. This East Shore location is much more relaxing and open, with plenty of parking and situated in a strip mall in a somewhat suburban area. My wife and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon after a few hours at Waimanalo Beach. We decided to split a Large #7 (spicy ahi bowl) with brown rice. We weren't starving, but needed a snack before the drive back to our hotel in Waikiki. The total came out to about $17, which isn't bad in today's economy. Our order was ready relatively quickly, and was absolutely DELICIOUS. Just as we'd remembered! Spicy ahi poke has always been my favorite, but something about Ono's poke just 'hits' different. It's almost as if their poke melts in your mouth! Ono's poke tastes extremely fresh and portions are generous. As other Yelpers have commented, Ono's has perfected the sauce-to-poke ratio as well. Meaning not dry, but also not ridiculously smothered in sauce (a mistake I find a lot of poke places make). So you're getting perfect with every bite! Be aware that seating is limited here. This isn't a real "restaurant" per say and more somewhere you go to order food. There are a few benches, tables, and chairs out front, but they can get filled up fast. Although eating in a parking lot may not sound ideal, the calming breeze of the nearby ocean makes this experience extremely pleasurable. There's something very relaxing about this location! Thus, I HIGHLY recommend Ono Seafood Hawaii. If you're doing anything in East Shore, definitely stop by for the best poke on the island!

I remember the good old days when ono's poke bowls were $7 and came with a drink. Nowadays they are $16 and don't come with a drink. Smh. This location opened a few years ago. I always imagined it to be in one of those Hawaii Kai shopping plazas on kalanianaole, but it's in a random little shopping plaza in the back of Hawaii kai near Sandy's. So if you're going to Sandy's maybe get your poke from here because it's convenient, but otherwise it's kind of out of the way. The Kapahulu location is much more convenient. This location is literally a take out counter. You can't walk in the door even. So when I ordered my poke bowl, I assumed I'd be offered the drink that usually comes with it when I picked up my food. The girl working the register was organized enough. They have a tally sheet of all the orders. But when she called my name and I asked for a drink, she charged me $1.57. I guess canned juice isn't included in the price anymore. There are quite a few plastic picnic tables outside the poke counter. I think most people take their food to go though. I don't think it's worth it for the price.... I mean when you compare it to 10 years ago, I guess the price of ahi combined with inflation is over 100%.... It's crazy times we're living in.

    Jessica Y.

Coming from someone who's only had poke in LA and Sea this was on another level of freshness. Loved how the fish was cut up in bigger chunks and the sauce was tangy and delicious. It doesn't even compare. I'm not going to enjoy poke at home anymore this place ruined it for me. Can't wait to travel here again and stop by. Food: 9.5/10 Service: 9/10 Ambience: 6.7/10 (outdoors and sunny. Goes with all of the island)

Haw'n Style Ahi Poke. The best all around offering.

Sometimes simple is the best. Ono Seafood has been doing straightforward poke with very familiar home-style tastes even as some place try to turn poke into a deconstructed pan asian sushi roll. Go elsewhere if you need ginger green onion, truffle ponzu, oyster sauce, kabayaki sauce, anything volcano/lava/hurricane as seasoning for your seafood. Don't bother looking for a surf & turf combo, like with kalua pig, smoked meat, or turkey tails. Bowls are simply rice with some fish or octopus, 5 or 8 ounces, one or two choices, made to order, unadorned. They've caved a bit to modern demands so you can add furikake and tenkasu to your bowl, but stuff like sea asparagus, pickled onion, ocean salad, taegu, and kinilau (ceviche), are strictly sides. Hawaiian style with Hawaiian rock salt and ogo is probably the most popular, but the creamy sweet salty miso is my favorite. The fish and octopus is slightly irregularly cut for poke but you won't (or shouldn't) find stringy sinewy tuna or tough to chew octopus. The sashimi, whether ahi or octopus, is tender. And yes, the ahi is fresh and unfrozen, and beautiful. My top choice is to get the lomi ahi side when they have it. It's the trim of the ahi. Minimally seasoned with a little Hawaiian salt and a few pieces of green onion for color. It is a bargain for the price and portion. The matriarch, Judy, has stepped away from the original Kapahulu shop, leaving it in the hands of her daughter. Her granddaughter helms this outpost in Kalama Valley with her husband and young son. A three generation family run, local, AAPI, woman-owned, business with a simple saying, "The best fish you'll ever eat in a parking lot". That is a bold statement, and every day they try to live up to it.

We tried five different poke spots in Honolulu. This one was the best! My bf and I shared this spicy salmon & shoyu ahi combo bowl. The fish was sooo fresh!! Perfect seasoning. The rice was also perfectly cooked :) Their strawberry guava gelato is just ok. Nice if you're craving something sweet afterward, but not mind-blowing. Can't wait to go back to Hawaii again for this
