Magical tented atmosphere combined with mouthwatering Italian cuisine. Aliano's produced delicious al dente pasta with flavor bomb sauces. Our waiter was upbeat. He had vast knowledge of the menu. He even made off menu suggestions to accommodate my love for spicy food. It's a good place for a special occasion.

Girls dinner at Aliano's! If you have read some of my reviews, you will know I don't eat a whole bunch. I typically take bites of my whatever my family orders; I get to try a little bit of everything and that's great for reviewing. However, when I go out with friends, I have to order my own meal because I would feel weird eating off of their plates. Four of us went to Aliano's for our monthly gab fest. I ordered the Calamari Aliano. Calamari is a safe meal for me because it reheats well in the air-fryer. It was very good and the marinara dipping sauce was outstanding. One of the girls ordered the nightly special ... I can't remember what it was, exactly, but it was beautiful and she said it was delicious. It was a stunning plate. Service was great. We sat outside on the little inside/outside patio. It was lovely. I can't wait to take my hubby to Aliano's for date night.

We stopped in just after the Christmas holiday, as everyone is exhausted from entertaining. I chose a pasta special. it was a linguine cooked to a perfect al dente served with a lobster vodka sauce, and large shrimp. Mouthwatering and absolute perfection. Our server was prompt and friendly and the patio was beautifully decorated for the holiday season.

We decided to venture to this place to satisfy craving of Italian foods, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant has an enclosed outdoor set up in between their restaurant and cafe. We were seated in this section, and the heater did its job. The menu has a variety of Italian dishes from pasta to pizza. Best yet, it has gluten free option. Both dishes were delicious, and flavorful. The portion was very generous, we had leftover for another meal. Check out this place, and you will be greeted by friendly staffs.

My favorite local spot. Food never disappoints and neither do the cocktails. The heated patio has live music. Service was fabulous as well.

The food was good. The service was great. Not a fan of eating in a tent sitting on metal patio chairs. For the price point I would want a little more comfort. Beware, this place slaps on a surcharge.

More often than not, you're looking at another tavern-cut pie, a dozen televisions screaming sports highlights, and a menu designed by committee. Safe. Predictable. Forgettable. Then there's Woodfire. I ended up here with my family celebrating my son's second birthday and was immediately reminded that every now and then, hidden among the endless strip malls and chain restaurants of the Chicago suburbs, you'll stumble across a place that actually gives a damn. The Vodka Pizza arrived looking almost too good to touch. Almost. Hot Calabrian vodka sauce. Fresh mozzarella. Shallot. Pepperoni. Ricotta. Basil. A combination that sounds familiar enough until that first bite lands and the heat punches through. Not the fake, watered-down, suburban version of spicy that restaurants use to avoid frightening anyone. This pizza has conviction. It has backbone. The Calabrian peppers make their presence known immediately and refuse to apologize for it. Good. Food should have an opinion. The crust, charred, blistered, beautifully imperfect, comes from house-made dough cooked in a wood-fired oven that sits like the beating heart of the restaurant. Every pie carries those little marks of fire that remind you an actual human being made it. Not a conveyor belt. Not a timer. Fire. Flour. Skill. And speaking of things that deserve respect, let's talk about the bar. Kevin has become something of a local legend in Dundee. The kind of bartender whose name gets mentioned before the cocktail list. The kind of guy who understands that making drinks isn't about pouring alcohol into a glass. It's hospitality, theater, craftsmanship, and just enough mischief to keep things interesting. Still chasing the heat from the pizza, I ordered the Spicy Flamingo. A dangerous drink. Sweet enough to invite you in. Spicy enough to keep you paying attention. The kind of cocktail that disappears faster than you intended and leaves you contemplating a second before the first one is gone. Around us, bussers moved through the dining room like a pit crew at Daytona. Tables were cleaned before they looked dirty. Empty glasses vanished. New guests were seated. The machine never stopped moving. Then there's Chef Mason. It's obvious someone in that kitchen understands the difference between cooking food and feeding people. There's technique here. Knowledge. Discipline. But thankfully none of the self-important nonsense that infects so many restaurants once they start believing their own press. Woodfire isn't trying to change your life. It's not trying to educate you. It's not trying to be the coolest restaurant in the room. Like Ferris Bueller, it understands that life moves pretty fast. So instead of chasing trends, it focuses on making exceptional handmade pizza, memorable pasta, serious cocktails, and creating a place where people actually want to spend an evening. In a world full of restaurants desperately trying to be something, Woodfire succeeds by simply being exactly what it is. And that's a hell of a lot rarer than it should be.

The pasta and appetizers are solid across the board, and the drinks round out the experience nicely. The biggest issue was that he seemed to have too many tables to manage at once. There were several very large parties--tables of eight or ten people--and it felt like the two of us were frequently overlooked while he was attending to those larger tables. There were many times when he could have simply stopped by our table to check on us or take care of something, but instead we were left waiting while he handled the larger groups. He also had somewhat of an aloof attitude, which didn't help. We understand that large tables require attention, but smaller tables shouldn't feel forgotten because the server has too many tables to juggle. The restaurant itself is also a very loud, lively atmosphere, which may be worth knowing if you're looking for a quieter dining experience. As for the food, I ordered the lasagna, which does list peas as an ingredient on the menu. I found the combination unappealing. I remembered I believe I had their lasagna the first time (no peas) and loved it, but this time It wasn't so memorable. Overall, the experience was disappointing, particularly because we had essentially the similar service experience on two separate visits.

And the reason for the two stars is primarily for the fact that if you are going to have a near $30 meal these days for lunch, I expect it to be very satisfactory. I have enclosed pictures so you can see the huge amount of oil that was floating on top and basically soaking everything. I got the chicken Marsala and I was informed after I was pretty much finished and said well I didn't find it inedible but I did find the oil to be in abundance and not something I'd order again. I have always got the chicken Marsala here and it's never been like this. She said they changed the recipe about a month ago. I love chicken Marsala and never had it so oily. She said she'd mention it to the chef. I'm sorry but I would say cook at a chain restaurant but that's just a thought of mine not something I mentioned. Anyway I again brought it up to the manager on the way out and he said it was from the spinach that is sautéed in butter.. no it was oil and the spinach was not soaked in either. He said sorry . Now I don't know if you have to be a raging lunatic when you say you are not happy with a meal to get something more as compensation for your time and the fact that even though you said I always get the chicken Marsala but I will not be ordering it again if this is the new recipe or what, but I guess I am going to give up on lunches at Biaggis altogether after this and my last visit to the deer park ones disappointing dessert that was so hot it burnt my tongue. So bye bye Biaggis. My money is valuable to me and my business should be to you.
