Visited Aliano's to sit on their covered patio and enjoy dinner with music. We didn't wait long to be sat which was nice. They had a gentleman singing and playing acoustic guitar. The runners quickly brought us waters, complimentary bread, and a balsamic glaze/olive oil mixture to dip bread into. The menu had a great variety. I ended up sharing the Rigatoni Mama and my friend got the Homemade Manicotti. The pastas did take a while to come out but the patio was pretty packed. Once the pastas arrived, we did ask for some more bread which sadly came out a but stale. The first round was WAY better. My friend started cutting into her pasta and immediately found a hair baked in. We called our server over and they immediately took it away to remake. They offered a complimentary dessert but we kindly asked to comp the dish instead. The Rigatoni Mama was tasty and a good portion to share! With all the hardships, our server Hannah could not have been better. She navigated the situation calmly and professionally. She was very understanding and continued to bring a happy demeanor to our table. Just about everything has gone downhill since the new owners took over. Really wanted to try and like a local business in town, calamari was undercooked, no Kaluha for espresso martinis, out of certain wines that are listed on the menu,Caesar salad was soggy and lacked dressing... the presentation was slapped together, pasta seemed to not be al dente & store bought quality. Not worth the money. Went there for dinner with my wife and a friend. They tried seating us outside (90 plus degrees) when our reservations were for inside, but they put us inside when we told them. No biggie there. The doorway from inside to out is open which is likely why there were gnats, flies, and even a couple of bees constantly flying around and on everything. My wife's limoncello martini was really bad. The sausage and peppers were good, but my dinner salad was the smallest salad that I have ever seen. My wife's cacio e pepe was so bad that she only ate a few bites (she had a dinner salad before, thank goodness) and threw the rest out. Even the special "reserve" wine list wines were mediocre, at best. Our server was nice, so they have that going for them. Definitely not worth the $200 plus bill. read more

Girls dinner at Aliano's! If you have read some of my reviews, you will know I don't eat a whole bunch. I typically take bites of my whatever my family orders; I get to try a little bit of everything and that's great for reviewing. However, when I go out with friends, I have to order my own meal because I would feel weird eating off of their plates. Four of us went to Aliano's for our monthly gab fest. I ordered the Calamari Aliano. Calamari is a safe meal for me because it reheats well in the air-fryer. It was very good and the marinara dipping sauce was outstanding. One of the girls ordered the nightly special ... I can't remember what it was, exactly, but it was beautiful and she said it was delicious. It was a stunning plate. Service was great. We sat outside on the little inside/outside patio. It was lovely. I can't wait to take my hubby to Aliano's for date night. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner last week. Food is very good and would recommend people come and try this place. The only reason why I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because our waitress didn't seem to give us the best service. We did have a bigger group but drinks were gotten but once we told her what we were missing they came right away. The one weird part was we weren't offered dessert, and we came here for a birthday so we had planned on getting dessert. She just came by and dropped off the checks without offering any desserts to order. We'll be back as the food overall is very good. read more

If I could rate this a zero I would. We had an OpenTable reservation. Arrived around 10 minutes early. Their team seemed unorganized and understaffed. The outside was busy but no where near full. We were told 'we aren't seating 7:30p reservations yet. Go stand by the bar.' He was a bit rude and seemed like he was filling in as he had on a t-shirt and no uniform as the rest of their team had. We did and after around 5 minutes were seated. Served water promptly and that's it. After waiting around 20-25 minutes, my husband was getting very agitated and waved his hands in the air which I believe caught the attention of a bartender. She came over and took our order which we ordered an appetizer and our meals/drinks all at once as we were concerned about the wait. App was served quickly. Waited another 25-30 minutes, at which time the bartender came over again and asked if we 'wanted more bread'. I let her know we never received any bread and asked if we had an actual server. She said no that they must not have known we were seated. I let her know we had a reservation and were seated by one of the team. She apologized and tried to smooth things over. By this time we were ready to leave. We had been there over an hour with one staff interaction and hungry. We asked to speak to a manager and she said she was the manager. We asked approximately how long before our dinners would be served and she said another 15 minutes or so as there was a large table ahead of us. We decided to leave at that point. We asked for the bill as we did have an app (which was very good) and drinks. She comped the bill. We went to Emmett's Brewery and had a wonderful dinner. It's sad as we were looking forward to trying Aliano's. Never again. I should have followed my gut after reading other poor reviews. Looks so inviting. Too bad the team and service don't match the cute atmosphere. Do better! read more

This was my first visit to Aliano's Cafe and it will probably be my last. We experienced some of the worst service I have had in years. Our server appeared to be new and he seemed a bit confused. But he tried hard and was very accommodating so he was not the problem. The problem is that we waited for over an hour for our entrees after placing our order (and one of our party never got the salad she ordered.) This resulted in our missing some of the outdoor concert that was being performed adjacent to the restaurant. When questioned, our server admitted they were missing a cook that evening. We should have been notified of this fact when we sat down. There did not appear to be a manager on site that we could see. Certainly no one came to our table to explain or apologize. There are many restaurants in the area that serve good food and also provide good customer service. Aliano's Cafe is not one of them. read more

I literally had to make a Yelp account after John L. made his review - This guys was so insufferable that the bartender couldn't take him seriously - especially after he dropped "You've completely ruined New Years Eve" and called him a "jerk." Do you know how annoying you have to be to have two separate couples give a "thumbs down" and a "gag me" sign while you're talking? At least your friends stick around to pay and apologize for you. Anyway, Alianos is generally a great place to go and sit at the bar. Bartenders are always nice when you're a normal human. read more

Was excited to try this restaurant as it's closer then other Italian restaurants in our area. I was hoping for something with higher food quality. They were very understaffed and has the bar tender handling our table. She did a reasonable job, even in unreasonable circumstances and I appreciated her effort, but the overall service experience was lacking. The food is more like Olive Garden than the mid-upscale prices they charge. I much rather spend a little more and continue to visit the EXCELLENT Italian restaurant in the Arboretum in Hoffman. At least twice better food and service quality at a 25% cost premium. Skip this place for date night. read more

We had reservations for 4 at 6pm for Mother's Day. We arrived 20 minutes early in case it was crazy but were able to be seated immediately in the dining room. 30 minutes went by and my wife had to flag down a waitress to ask if our table has a server. We were able to get one finally and give our drink order at least as well as a cup of soup. We got our drinks but 50 minutes later and still no soup. Again had to flag down the waitress to ask for it. It's important to note that we had 2 young kids with us so the insane wait time got more and more challenging as time went on. Tables around us that arrived 30 minutes+ after us got their food and were out of there by the time I even got my soup. This place makes you feel invisible. After all was said and done we didn't get our food for a grand total of an hour and a half and the food was mediocre at best. Only gave an extra star because there was a situation with a disgruntled employee. It was a scary moment as the employee shouted and smashed the glasses and wine bottles. I don't blame the restaurant for this, but where was the manager though? Wouldn't you think a manager would go around to check and make sure everyone is okay? My kids were scared and clinging to mom. Such a shame, this was my wife's favorite place to order out from and wanted to try it at the restaurant. We decided to venture to this place to satisfy craving of Italian foods, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant has an enclosed outdoor set up in between their restaurant and cafe. We were seated in this section, and the heater did its job. The menu has a variety of Italian dishes from pasta to pizza. Best yet, it has gluten free option. My husband comes here alot and raved about the carbonara. He knew im a fan of carbonara. So i got the carbonara, but i didnt like it. Look at the pics it doesn't look like carbonara. I asked twice if it was carbonara because it wasnt at all like carbonara ... didnt find any pork in it and it was cheesy. It had shrimp and over cooked pasta ... and what seemed like garlicy pesto. In an area with Italians i hoped for much better. Husband tried it and said it wasnt good. Very underwhelming. Would have given it a , except we both loved the rigatoni my husband ordered and shared it. We shared the bread pudding and it needed more cinnamon and raisins. Slow service. I had asked about their Sunday half off pizza special that is advertised on the website and was told "we don't have pizza". It's on the menu and online but we weren't offered any explanation as to why we couldn't order a pizza. I have found my new favorite Italian restaurant! I met friends for dinner and we sat outside. The outdoor dining is great. Very comfortable chairs and table. Decorated simple but nice with good music playing the background. A had a yummy, nice cold dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. And I think $12 is a fair price for a martini, especially a good one! The bread and olive oil, yum. The fried calamari, yum. I don't like artichoke hearts but the fried artichoke hearts and dipping sauce are amazing! A tempura type breading and a garlic dipping sauce. So good. I ordered the pasta with tomato basil cream sauce and sausage. The sauce was delicious and flavorful. The sausage tasted homemade and had a little kick to it. Just overall very good! It was my friends birthday and they gave her a free cannoli. Very tasty! We also had the bread pudding. Huge and delicious. We had great service. Amazing food. I'll be back for sure! read more

There were plenty of open tables and the people ahead of us had no reservations and were seated right way. Whatever. The menu is very small, with the most basic Italian dishes. Nothing unique. My water glass was horribly dirty, with a bug cemented inside. Bread they brought out must of been the cheapest quality bread available. Not even the kind of bread worthy of dipping into anything. It was free, but makes for a bad 1st impression. Food took a long time. Once it came it was nothing special. Pretty much cafeteria or catered backyard party quality with a "fancy" fried fettuccine noodle stuck in it. On Friday we had two of the specials and were very disappointed- meat was tough and risotto and sauce way too salty. Pollo Napoleone had good flavor but also too salty. As for ambiance...Recorded music in small original dining room was too loud for the space and then when live music started in the patio they should have turned off the conflicting recorded music. Food presentation was great as usual portion sizes appear to have been reduced from previous years we had a party of 4 people the first small bread was old they did bring a better quality and warmer bread which was nice I would like something other than water I never received the Special Menu that Is prepared every 2 weeks service was not great obviously and to my surprise very few customers unlike my previous experience they even went cheaper on the take home leftovers containers. First time dining here and probably also my last. While the food was very good and portions abundant, the bar service was outrageously horrible. The overpriced cocktails were not even mixed correctly, nor were they served in the correct glassware. Cosmo's had zero flavor, a foam head, and presented in a brandy snifter. The lines for the beer taps were apparently installed incorrectly and the beer delivered as a Blue Moon was actually some sort of IPA, not once, but several times, even after sending the first round back. $100 bill for two dinners and horrible bar service left a real sour taste in my mouth. Let me start just by saying "molto delizioso" Food- For appetizers, we ordered the Goat Cheese Bruschetta, I ordered the Capesante Al Salmone and my husband ordered Bucatino Carbonara. For drinks, My husband ordered the smoked old fashion, and I had to have my Prisoner Wine. The goat cheese bruschetta was very generous on its topping. The tomatoes was firm, full of flavor mixed in with the balsamic and the goat cheese was not overbearing, but definitely tasted its presence. The flavor was well balanced and the bread was easy to bite into. The Bucatino carbonara was perfect for my husband's appetite! It was creamy and flavorful. Now my Capesante Al Salmone is something that I will start craving for. The wrapped scallop in smoked salmon was so delicious, I will keep coming back for this dish. The smoked salmon had a nice crisp biting into the scallops. Hands down, perfect dish choices! Service - Jim the owner welcomed us and had us seated right away. Approach was welcoming like entering into a friend's home. He even hugged us as we ended our dinner! Nolin our server was very knowledgeable of the dishes! It was a Saturday night and so loud our table of four couldn't hold a conversation. The music was way too loud in the original, quaint room where we sat. I can only imagine how loud the large room where the band played was. The food was mediocre at best. Two of us had the Rigatoni Mama Mia and agreed the sausage was tough and the sauce too salty.
