My hubby and I went on a Saturday afternoon around 4:15. By the time we left, there was a line to the door. The pizza restaurant and bar is shared with Orchard Prime meats. A really good meat market. Absolutely not worth the price. 50 minute wait for pizza, $40 per pie and it's average at best, service was fine but please check your bill before you pay, they will sneak some charges on there. Butcher shop prices are astronomical for the area and deceiving, so make sure you ask about those too. Be prepared to hail someone down to help you, as if they don't need your business. I seen this place on Portnoy's, and I had to try it. Dave may be a chode, but he doesn't lie on pizza reviews. I would compare this to Lou Malnati's, but different construction, and less corporate made. On the thinner side of pan pizza, and quality ingredients. Service was friendly and very attentive. Our waitress was awesome to compliment the pizza. This place is inside a meat market. So I had to get some mock chicken legs and Italian sausage. Same sausage is on the pizza and it is delicious. Very disappointed in the carry out experience. We ordered the veggie with pepperoni and the hot honey pizza. The boxes ware not bagged and oil and liquid ruined our car seat. We are only a 15 min drive but the pizza was soggy from the excess liquid in the box. The pizza over all was good but we had to reheat it to get any sort of bite to the dough. To me peaquods crust is good but the pizza itself lacks flavor. Not here. Everything is perfectly seasoned. Not too little and not too much. They really make every ingredient shine. The spontaneous spinach is the best spinach pizza I've ever had. They use fresh, not frozen spinach which makes a huge difference. The garlic? My goodness. It was the perfect bite. After a weekend in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, my son and I decided to drive 40 miles south to Cary, Illinois to try Uncle Jerry's. We are so glad that we did. Uncle Jerry's is co-located in a butcher shop in an older building. There is a large semi-circular bar in the center of the space, and all of it works to make for an interesting and relaxing space (and I say that as a vegetarian who was surrounded by meat). I felt like I was having quiet mid-afternoon lunch in 1948. The pizza was the showpiece of the visit! It arrived piping hot -- almost molten. I made the mistake of eating my first slice before the pie had cooled a bit. Don't make that mistake, as the flavor of the pie really emerged as it cooled off. Crisp crust; Flavorful, if slightly sweet sauce, and a good volume of cheese that added flavor but not excess fat. If I have one criticism, it is that the cheese could have been more flavorful, but I do think that the flavor emerged as the pie cooled, so I may have just been too eager when the pie arrived! Cary, Illinois is a charming little town, and Uncle Jerry's offers better pizza in a small town than I have found in many larger cities! read more

Uncle Jerry's is a mix between deep dish/pan pizza. They build their pizza similar way Peqouds dose with deeper pans tho, sliced mozzarella cheese laid up against the wall of the pan. My go to is always the standard cheese pizza when my first time visiting any pizzeria. Man, uncle Jerry is on point from their dough being light flaky with amazing chew easy to cut with a knife and flavorful! and their sauce phenomenal perfectly acidic nice flavor and seasoned just how I like it perfect! They also use high quality cheese. That's the one thing I do Recommend ordering extra cheese on your pizzas. In my personal opinion, uncle Jerry, shits on peqouds. Service was amazing waited maybe less than 15 minutes for a table. Definitely worth the hour drive to Cary. Be aware pizzas do take at least 30 minutes or longer! So this place isn't exactly conveniently located to me, but I'm willing to go 30 minutes for a good pie. It's been on my radar and like everyone else the recent publicity was enough to get me going. They share a space with a Butcher concept with lots of great looking options, as well as a full bar and a deli listed as "coming soon". It's not a huge space and they've gotten a much larger turn out lately so you'll definitely want to come early or be prepared to wait. All the extra stuff is nice but let's get down to business... the pizza. Is this the best pan/deep dish pizza I've ever had? If I've had better then I can't recall it. Wow! What an amazing and picture perfect pie this is! The cheese isn't overbearing but gives you the melted pull when you bite it, the sauce is lightly seasoned with a lovely fresh tang, and the crust is hands down the best I've had. Light, butter-y and cooked to absolute perfection! We had "The Goat" which comes with added spinach, garlic, and goat cheese. Really good goat cheese is hard to get on a pizza but the flavor and amount was just right. The menu is small here and its definitely because they understand the balance a great pizza needs. You can see "Uncle Jerry" working the oven and the waitress was wonderful. She made fun conversation with every person and group that entered and you can tell they really appreciate every patron. I haven't had service that good in a long time, it feels like a lost art and I love to see it. Here's hoping that they never change. A few extra notes. They have some gaming options for the gambling crowd and they apparently offer gift certificates so this could be a good holiday present idea that doubles as an excuse to get yourself a fantastic dinner. The place felt understaffed, but the service was excellent! We ordered a large pepperoni pizza (14"), and it was plenty big. You can only get a small (9") or a large. The menu is pretty focused--pizza, salad and drinks. I ordered the garden salad and didn't have high expectations, but the salad was excellent. Greens were fresh. Now for the pizza. I kid you not, it reminded me of Lou Malnati's, except with a thinner crust, less sauce, and less cheese. Pepperoni was spicy and very good. If you like Lou's but feel that it's just too much, you'll love Uncle Jerry's. Everyone we talked to said to try the sweet sting--habanero pepper + honey, but we'll be sure and try it next time. Went back against my better judgment based on the last time we went a few years ago. We showed up at a "non-busy" time. There was a couple ahead of us. Neither the couple ahead of us nor we were greeted. ZERO acknowledgment. Nothing. No direction, no sign. No clue of what we were to do, and no tables were available. Fifteen minutes passed. When wait staff would walk by, they avoided eye contact. Spoke with the other couple who was equally as...surprised...by the lack of interest in seating or talking to any of us. FINALLY, a table left. NO ONE CLEANED THE TABLE. The couple FINALLY made contact with a waitress who walked by and she seemed upset that they asked her if someone was going to clean the table so they could sit. The fact that this establishment feels as though they are doing US a favor by gracing us with their presence is astonishing. Please, for the love of God, teach your staff to talk to the patrons who are waiting or, at the VERY LEAST, put up a sign that says, wait here for a table. And when someone leaves a table, GET SOMEONE TO CLEAN IT so that we can sit. The pizza? Great. The service? Shockingly, it got worse since my last review. Amazing. read more

Since I originally ate there one night, although the wait in line was extraordinarily long, the experience was certainly worth the wait. The two pizzas we had were of such good quality, that, it rivaled Lou Malnati's, but the prices were much better here than it Lou Malnati's. Last time I was in the area, I was told to try this place. So when I came back to Cary, I had to visit Uncle Jerry Pizza. I ordered it for pickup since a group of us were were at a bar a few miles away We ordered three pizzas, sausage, pepperoni and their spinach/goat cheese. They were all deep dish style pizza. Overall, the pizzas were good. Crust was flavorful and was not bland. Sauce was delicious. Sausage was good. The spinach/goat cheese had a lot of random bites of strong garlic and some without. The salad was wilted and sad looking. Would I order from here again? I think I would. However, I didn't like how the location was not happy about giving us some plates. It was a decent pie read more
