This pizza was delicious it lived up to the hype. We got 2 angry goats- I added sausage and bacon to mine. It was an excellent choice. My husband had the pizza city fest - that one was pretty tasty too. service was awesome. We loved it all. It's cool that it is a butcher shop too, next time I'm gonna make sure that we purchase some of that stuff too.

First time to uncle Jerry's and it did not disappoint. Next time I go I believe I will order the pizza before we even get seated because it does take time. Overall the service was awesome and the pizza was delicious!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cool place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've heard the hype via Barstool, so tonight when my son played at CGHS, I had to try it. We went basic, large cheese, 45 minutes wait for to go. I had a long commute home, so I left it uncut. It smelled so good, I wish I could have had a piece in the ride home. When we finally made it home after his long bus ride, I cut it and heated up a few slices at 250 in the oven. It was delicious....it would certainly be better fresh. Super crispy crust, sweet sauce without the typical tomato chunks like Lou's would be. Excellent cheese pulls and really flavorful when all the notes are combined. (About $23) [[HIGHLIGHT]]The signage is not the best at night, so know it's attached to a meat store, deli like.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once I figure it out I went in to wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was packed at 7:30 on a Wednesday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bar is in the center left, with the to go pick up at one side. The tables flank all 180 degrees of the bar. Lots of people. Worth the hype, excited for the next 3.5 years of my son playing Cary Grove so we can try the Uncle Jerry's hot pepperoni pizza and the spinach as well. Check them out!

I seen this place on Portnoy's, and I had to try it. Dave may be a chode, but he doesn't lie on pizza reviews. I would compare this to Lou Malnati's, but different construction, and less corporate made. On the thinner side of pan pizza, and quality ingredients. Service was friendly and very attentive. Our waitress was awesome to compliment the pizza. This place is inside a meat market. So I had to get some mock chicken legs and Italian sausage. Same sausage is on the pizza and it is delicious. Worth a trip and visit. Great people, great service and excellent pizza.

Very disappointed in the carry out experience. We ordered the veggie with pepperoni and the hot honey pizza. The boxes ware not bagged and oil and liquid ruined our car seat. We are only a 15 min drive but the pizza was soggy from the excess liquid in the box. The pizza over all was good but we had to reheat it to get any sort of bite to the dough. Will think about dining in to give it a second chance.

This will be a bold first line and I mean every word of it - Uncle Jerry's is the best pizza in Illinois. It beats every single place in the city. Mom and pop joint deep dish or pan in the city? Uncle Jerry's is better. Peaquods? Uncle Jerrys is better. Lou malnatis? Unos? Connie's? Giordanos? Uncle Jerrys is better. Did I drive over an hour to get here? Yep. Was it worth it? 1000000% and will be doing it again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is pure perfection. The vibe, the staff, the pizza? INCREDIBLE![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Shoutout to Barb, I literally love her! So kind, funny, and you could tell she loved being there. She always made sure we were taken care. Now the food...I'm picky when it comes to pan or deep dish. I'm a cheese girl because I think most sausage at restaurants tastes weird, and most places use frozen veggies so the pizza is watery. But at Uncle Jerrys? You get perfection. The sauce is so incredibly fresh, you can actually taste the beautiful tomatoes. The sausage is INCREDIBLE! Fresh and doesn't have the weird taste most restaurants have. Seasoned to perfection. Their crust is the perfect crisp and the cheese on it is next level. The cheese crust is what peaquods is known for - Uncle Jerrys does it better. To me peaquods crust is good but the pizza itself lacks flavor. Not here. Everything is perfectly seasoned. Not too little and not too much. They really make every ingredient shine. The spontaneous spinach is the best spinach pizza I've ever had. They use fresh, not frozen spinach which makes a huge difference. The garlic? My goodness. It was the perfect bite. This is the type of pizza that's worth driving a few hours for. I'm grateful I'm only a little over an hour away. We will be back for my husbands birthday in June!

After a weekend in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, my son and I decided to drive 40 miles south to Cary, Illinois to try Uncle Jerry's. We are so glad that we did. Uncle Jerry's is co-located in a butcher shop in an older building. There is a large semi-circular bar in the center of the space, and all of it works to make for an interesting and relaxing space (and I say that as a vegetarian who was surrounded by meat). I felt like I was having quiet mid-afternoon lunch in 1948. The pizza was the showpiece of the visit! It arrived piping hot -- almost molten. I made the mistake of eating my first slice before the pie had cooled a bit. Don't make that mistake, as the flavor of the pie really emerged as it cooled off. Crisp crust; Flavorful, if slightly sweet sauce, and a good volume of cheese that added flavor but not excess fat. If I have one criticism, it is that the cheese could have been more flavorful, but I do think that the flavor emerged as the pie cooled, so I may have just been too eager when the pie arrived! Cary, Illinois is a charming little town, and Uncle Jerry's offers better pizza in a small town than I have found in many larger cities!

Delicious! I love that crust. Uncle Jerry's pizza satisfied my deep dish craving but with its own flair that makes it taste special and distinct from the usual Chicago deep dish spots I've been to.

Their "Sweet Sting" pepperoni pizza - hands-down, still one of the best pizzas ever! So good!

This was a sequel visit - and after eating as much of my pizza that I could, I am thrilled to tell you that everything was great tonight! I had their "Sweet Sting" pepperoni pizza, deliciously drizzled with their homemade, habanero-infused honey. Oh. My. It was so good! I asked for Melissa's section, since she provided such great service the first time - and she was just as fantastic this time around! Seriously, if you are ever in the area, stop in for dinner. You will be seriously glad you did! (By the way, Melissa mentioned they have a "secret" pizza that isn't on the menu - it's called the "Angry Goat". I am definitely trying that the next time I stop in!)

These pizzas are so well done here. The crust is the perfect mix of crunchy and buttery, making it super tasty. The menu isn't huge--they've got classic pizzas, build-your-own options, and some salads--but the topping combos are on point. We tried the Sweet Sting, which nailed the spicy-sweet combo, and the Goat. I mean, goat cheese on pizza? Enough said. The place has a chill, comfy vibe where you can seat yourself. The beer selection is solid and cheap, just like the pizzas--especially if you're coming in from Chicago. The service was awesome too!

Some of the worst pizza I have ever had. It was like soupy bread. It was not my thing at all. The owners were super nice people.

They allowed complete customization. The appetizers were perfect for happy hour before dinner which by choice looked over the bar with TV's during the baseball game. Dinner was set up perfectly with salad, great bread, specifically chosen wine on the tables. Then for food pastas, meat choices of chicken, sausages and meatballs with full desert. They even went to the extra effort of making multiple special meals for our gluten free friends. The staff, waitresses,,bartenders were friendly and courteous. Ownership was present to oversee and verify everything was going great. Between the high tier food, drinks, special service the entire cost was almost 1/2 of similar pricing from some of the banquet halls. Do not overlook this option! Making my daughter this happy can be challenging. Thankyou Vince and all your great staff for a special night! Jerry E

We sat at the bar and service was a little on the slower side, but nothing that took away from the night. I had the beef sandwich, and my wife went with the burger...both were really good. They also have a Thursday burger special for $10, which is a great deal and definitely worth checking out. The draft beer is always cold, and they've got a strong case for one of the best sports bar setups in McHenry County....plenty of TVs and a great place to catch a game. Overall, it's a dependable go-to spot whether you're meeting up with a big group, hanging out with friends, or just can't decide where to go for dinner. A nice, easy choice with something for everyone.
