Today is February 6th ,2022 and I ordered a large Super Supreme and a large Hawaii pizza and I was very disappointed since Alibi pizza makes the pizza much smaller than before CoVid-19 but the price is the same. My suggestion it is better of just to buy one topping pizza which is probably better deal. Never ever eating here again!!! They over charge hoping you don't call them out on it! We ordered a two topping half and half pizza. When the bill came we were charged for a four topping pizza. Each separate topping is a charge. Not explained by the server. The manager was less than agreeable saying that's their policy. I do love this place but they have some off days. Today my pepperoni pizza had a couple of mushrooms on it. Not a big deal, except when you're allergic to the shrooms. They seem thinner than what I remember and the butter they are served with is rock hard. If you plan on eating in, plan on waiting around 20 minutes. This is my favorite pizza and I'm impossible to please. I only like sitting at the bar though one time we sat in the dining room and had good service. My super fussy dad said it was fresh and s good sized portion and lots and lots of fries. The breadsticks have started being a little too browned on the last couple visits. Maybe just a preference for lighter color but no problem eating an entire basket of them. My daughter had the tortellini. I would say this is a carbonara. We came here for dinner last night with family to celebrate a birthday. The wait was about 30 minutes but we were able to find a seats at the bar until the table was ready. The hostess was older and seemed annoyed with how busy they were.. when our table was finally ready she came up to us and said it was our last call since she called for our party 5 times. We never once heard her and she knew where we were sitting.. we were seated at a round table, drop center of the bar area which was kind of in the way of people going through that area of the restaurant, and very cold with the air from the front doors. The Greek salad was fresh and delicious. The pizza is always good there. There was a sign that said to be patient due to limited staff but we did not wait long. Food for all 6 of us was very good. Three had the pecan chicken salad; Two had pizza and I had the lake perch...overall everyone was pleased with their food. One item we found annoying was that some of the best things on the menu were only available on Friday and Saturdays. My granddaughter saw the only picture on the menu (prime rib) and had her heart broken when it was not available until the next day. Shortcomings included how drafty/cold it was inside the restaurant. Given it was December and it was cold outside...this is Michigan and it's cold every December. It should not have been this cold in the restaurant. The other shortcoming was the attitude of our waitress. While her service level was adequate she was not very friendly about it. I love that you have gluten-free options and variety of garden salad sizes! It would be cool to see more vegan options available though. Sometimes people will go where their vegan friends have options available to them. A vegan pasta, sautéed veggie sandwich, soup, or pizza could be good and would fit with what you have on your menu. This is hands down my favorite restaurant of my entire life. My parents took me to the first one when I was a kid and now that I live out of state I plan my trips home with mandatory meals at the Alibi. I'd have Alibi pizza and Greek dressing as my last meal if given the choice. I've had pizza in NY, Chicago, and all over Italy but Alibi is my favorite. Our service this night was great!! We had family in from Florida and they were returning the next morning! Jessica did an outstanding job filling our cups (we never had to ask for refills) and our food arrived in a timely fashion! Love the Alibi breadsticks!! You must get those if you go here!! I had heard great things about this place and finally decided to drop in. I went at 6pm on a Friday and the place was jammed to the gills. We were luckily seated immediately and I was definitely happy with the food. Their pizza is a cross between Costco and Papa Johns with bigger crust. The dough was sweet and they have an odd mix of high quality pepperoni and canned mushrooms. I am a big guy and three pieces was more than enough for me. They also have a nice beer selection. This a place to grab some upper level utility pizza. However, thy not to over order as it is not a great day-after pizza. read more

My husband was recently diagnosed as a Celiac, so he's had to give up almost all of his old favorite foods. It makes dinner options tough when you are a celiac and your wife & kids love all that gluteny deliciousness! Looking for somewhere we could pick up for dinner recently, he was thrilled to see that the Alibi offered gluten free options on their menu. While he still craves the pizza and breadsticks, it's nice to know we can still eat at one of our old favorites! I regularly visit this establishment with my girlfriend and her family. The amount of food for your money you receive is a great value. Their pizza and bread sticks are always phenomenal and tasty. The only complaint I have is their service is often hit or miss that you receive here. I've had exceptional wait staff and other times I've had waitresses that could care less about checking in to your table. If the consistency with their wait staff changed they would certainly get 5 stars from me because I absolutely love the food here. read more

The only thing I don't like about their pizza (and this is incredibly minor) is the grease filled pepperoni cups, and if you had a pepperoni pizza you know exactly what I mean. Over the years the pizza has been on steady decline and its soley because it's UNDERCOOKED. Idk if its because they are turning over so many pizzas they are rushing it or what but even when I order it well done, it still comes undercooked. Bummer. Per the recommendation of friends, I dined at the Alibi last weekend. For quite a while now, I've been hearing how they adore the pizza and how amazing the bread sticks are. Being a bit of a pizza freak, I agreed to go without hesitation. It was Saturday night, around 7 pm, and the place was packed! A good sign, for sure. As I was waiting to be seated, the aromas teased me, left me salivating. The 25 minutes flew by as I gawked at other people's food and imagined what delicacies I was about to partake in. I'm not going to lie: food excites me! Unfortunately, the imagining was as good as it got. After being seated, my party and I were promptly attended to by our waiter. I perused the beer list, which was minimal and pretty standard, and upon picking my beverage, was carded. No problemo. When I presented my ID to the waiter, he danced around our section of the restaurant, placing my card under various lights to check its validity, asking other staff members if it they thought it was real. This was all done in fun, a big funny ha-ha, and I went along with it ... the guy's working for tips after all. The Alibi's menu is varied in its selection: soups, sandwiches, chicken, seafood, pasta, ribs. You name it, it looks like they have it. Their reputation, as far as I know, is largely based on their pizza and that is what I was there to eat. For being their supposed specialty, this section of the menu looked a little sparse. The topping offerings were, like the beer selection, standard and minimal. Not that I'm a crazy topping person, but if a place is known for pizza, you'd expect some imagination. I was further bummed to see no variety in crust offerings. But, I'm a believer in goodness in simplicity, so I cast my disappointment aside and ordered a medium pizza with Italian sausage and mushrooms. The waiter, once again, was prompt in taking our order. When the pizza arrived, after an adequate amount of time, my disappointment continued. Instead of Italian sausage and mushroom, I received a pizza with Italian sausage and onion. If I was not onion fan, I would have mentioned it to the waiter. It was busy, I was hungry and I'm not a complainer, so I kept it to myself and moved on. Well, maybe I am a complainer, after all, because the next thing I have to tell you is that the pizza didn't even look good! The crust was somewhere between thin and regular, the sauce wasn't evident and all together it just appeared dull and lifeless, kind of like something you find at a mall food court, something that's been sitting under a heat lamp for a better portion of the day. Being the optimist that I am, I told myself I had better not judge by appearance, that I ought to dig in before make up my mind. Nope! Bad idea! It tasted just as lifeless as it looked. The Italian sausage was hardly that - it tasted like hamburger as far as I'm concerned. No spices or flavor to it at all. They went skimpy on the cheese and sauce. The crust was on the thinner side and lacked any crunch or texture. All in all, the pizza was blah. It looked blah and it tasted blah. 'Twas a big huge bummer. I feel I must also make a note that our waiter was a tad too boisterous. The horseplay in the beginning of the night with my ID was a bit theatrical and mildly amusing -tolerable for sure- but it carried on throughout our meal, kind of becoming a nuisance. He would often interrupt my table's conversation and interject things as he was walking by. This almost seemed like a subsitution for checking on us (I don't recall him ever actually asking us if we needed anything). He also made several references to smoking crack, not only to me and my friends, but to surrounding tables. I am by no means a stickler when it comes to humor, but this just struck me as tacky and unprofessional, especially when there were so many families around. There is a very slim chance that I'd ever return to Alibi. I don't understand what the hype is. As a previous reviewer mentioned, perhaps it has gained popularity through its familiar location and cozy setting. But, in my quest for the perfect pizza, I shall look elsewhere. read more

I am disappointed that there was no follow up or response to the negative review that I wrote on 9/25/20. There have been some glowing reviews recently and some that are not so glowing. However, I had hoped that if there was some reason for the poor pizza that we received, there might be some response or explanation. Since I haven't heard anything, I guess I will continue to stay away. I have been here a handful of times and the food is decent, nothing spectacular, its pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and salads; and their management policies are crummy. First off they don't take reservations even for large parties and the hostesses are rude and dismissive to talk to in person. Also regardless if the restaurant is busy or not they will not seat your party until every member has arrived, but they are very unaccommodating/patient if a member of your party is elderly or in a wheelchair. We were here this past Sunday for a family get together. I arrived early to make sure we could get a table that was wheelchair accessible, the hostess told me to let her know when everyone has arrived and she could seat us then. Once the rest of my family arrived we were seated by another hostess who then noticed that only 3 of the 5 people in are party were being seated. At this moment she started picking up the menus and made a snippy remark about the rest of party not being present. I proceeded to tell her that the 91 year old, WWII Pilot is a wheelchair and it takes some time to get him out the car but they will be right in. She wasn't very understanding of this but allowed us to sit, all the while she stood hovering over our table making sure that the rest of party was actually going to arrive. Because of this unwelcoming environment that the hostess and management have created we will not be returning. Thank you. read more
