Horrible lunch experience. We ordered a wrap and two sandwiches and it took over 30 minutes to come out even though we were only one of two tables with customers. When we finally got the sandwiches the bread on both of them was so badly burnt we couldn't eat them. When we told the waitress that her response was "what do you want me to do about it." We ended up asking them to remove them from our bill and left, two of our group not able to eat lunch. The unprofessionalism and lack of care was astonishing. Will not be back. read more

Good: Fast service for a Friday afternoon. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Drinks and food arrived promptly. Bad: The restaurant has a gross odor. Smells like parmesan cheese. We ordered nachos that were below average and small in proportion. The nachos were nothing more than tortilla chips smothered in processed cheese, raw jalapeños, overcooked ground beef, and whole beans. Presentation was amateurish. Terrible. I first visited Alien Brew Pub years ago to check out the space themed cocktails which can be quite fun. These days I enjoy a visit for the chicken fingers and fries which are my go to. I can by picky about my fries and they have great fries along with really good ranch. The service has been reliable and quick, most the times I have gone in it hasn't been very busy but it is kind of hidden away from the other spots to eat in Uptown. read more

I have heard about the epic Cocktail menu at this brewpup so I thought it would be a good place to check out for a night out. I came with a group of people and we all ordered various items. I choose the Albuquerque Turkey with sweet potato fries. If you live in Albuquerque you've heard of this classic take on a turkey sandwich with monterrey cheese and green chile on sourdough toast, but Alien adds some grilled tomato on theirs for a little added flavor and texture. The sweet potato fries were crisp, perfectly salted, and the plate had a generous helping. The food was very delicious. I ordered the Neptune, which was a fruity cocktail made of Cherry Vodka, Malibu, Amaretto, Peach Snapps, and fruit juices. It tasted like a coconut fruit punch, sweet and deceptively non alcoholic, but it packed a nice punch and was stronger than it tasted. The server was friendly and attentive. The manager was gracious when I asked to join the tables together. The atmosphere was fun, exciting, and inviting. The only issue we really had was the delivery times on the food. There was 6 dishes ordered together, but only 2 dishes arrived at first. About 10 minutes later another dish, then another 2 dishes about 5 minutes after that, and the last dish within a few minutes. Last thing, the soup or salad menu lists no soups, but the entrees have a cup of soup as a side option. This led to some very curious speculation amongst my group. TLDR; Alien is an absolutely awesome place. Their beverage menu has killer variety and the food is good. I will definitely go back! read more

Had an enjoyable dinner with friends at Alien Brewery last nite. I know everyone complains about short staffing issues these days ... our experience was great. Our server took our drink order after cleaning the table in a hurry. Big smile and terrific attitude throughout. Our beer drinkers loved the Alien IPA and a Honey Nut beer. Sorry forgot its name. I had a pinot noir. A healthy pour and delicious ... not a wimpy 6 ounce for too much money. We did UFO Burgers built with everyone's favorite chosen ingredients. Loved the green chili! The Philadelphia sandwich was a hit as well. We got a side salad with our burger. It is a meal on its own. Yes, they have to go boxes. We are going back to try more items on the menu for sure! read more

We had not been here in many, many years and remembered it was ok; however, we were pleasantly surprised with how good it was when we went there recently. Everyone had different meals and we were all happy with what we got. The meals included UFO burgers, Albuquerque turkey sandwich and California chicken sandwich. You get to choose a side with your meal and the salad was huge and delicious as where the onion rings and regular and sweet potato fries. Good quality food and generous portions. Great place to grab some elevated bar food. I ordered the jalapeño poppers, New Mexico Philly, and some onion rings. The jalapeño poppers are hot hot hot. Like super hot. If you like hot hot get them. If you don't, skip them. That's not a ding, but you should know that going in. The onion rings are amazing. But I love onion rings. They are a good crunchy ring. A very nice place to eat, good food and great staff This is located just north of the Coronado Freeway on the northeast corner of the intersection of Uptown Boulevard NE and America's Parkway. It is the northernmost store of the building. There is plenty of parking. Upon entering you will see that there are a mix of tables and bar seating. It is a seat-yourself affair when I visited. The decor is centered around the name of the restaurant with large-head, big-eyed alien pictures located around the walls and emblems built into the bar. Lighting was low so it was a little difficult to see. The menu has a good selection of different types of food from burgers to wings. I sat at the bar and ordered wings, onion rings, and iced tea. The bartender was very friendly, professional, and helpful with both ordering and serving the meal. The food came out quickly and was very good. The onion rings were large and more than I could eat. The wings had a good taste. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant, overall, was clean and well-kept. It was a nice experience and I would recommend it to fellow travelers. read more

Absolutely abysmal food but great service. The iced tea was essentially water with a tea flavor. The fried pickles were whole wedges, over battered but not noticeably seasoned. My steak salad ordered with medium rare steak was served with a steak obviously unevenly cooked ranging from extremely well done to almost blue rare on top of a heap of what appeared to be bagged romaine, four wedges of mostly green tomato and some admittedly good bleu cheese. I bought my parents' gift cards from Costco this year with this place as one of the multiple options. They decided to eat there solely based on the gift card. Their experience was terrible. The fish they had was a tiny fellet covered in a ton of batter that was cooked in bad oil. The buns were hard like they were old. At the end of this terrible meal, they were informed that they did not accept the gift card. They pointed them to a small hand written sign on the inside of the entry door that will not be seen upon entry. To top off the experience, the bar tender was rude and constantly complained about her hangover from her bender at Knockouts strip club. They would have been happy to pay for the drinks but shame on this establishment for their bate and switch practices with well-known gift cards. A decent thing to do would be to contact Costco and have them removed from the cards. read more

While roadtripping through New Mexico we saw this place and the menu looked decent. You have to seat yourself which always gives me anxiety, but my group of 4 found a table easily enough and only had to wait a few minutes for waitress to take our orders. When taking our food order my friend asked if the wedge salad could be chopped. The waitress said the kitchen might be toooo busy for that, which is fine, but what killed us is the salad came out first, like within minutes of ordering! We were also hoping to see some fun swag to purchase (with a name like Alien Brew Pub - missed sales opportunity!), but didn't see any. Oh well. One and done! read more

The bacon wrapped dates were to die for. The bacon wrapped Jalapeños, made with fresh jalapeños, were a bit spicy for this gringo, but good none the less. I had the smothered French fries with cheese sauce, green onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, and guacamole was really tasty, but my husband raves about his Reuben sandwich on marble rye and curly fries. The service with Dom was impeccable and Jimmy helping out was equally delightful. The Imperial stout was a big hit. Can't wait to come back and try many more items off this diverse menu. Well, we came back and what a difference the second time. The dates were great. The steak salad was really skimpy on ingredients. Mostly romaine with 4 thin slices of red onion, 4 miniature wedges of tomato and probably a teaspoon of blue cheese crumbles, or less. The steak was tasty but undercooked for me. That's it! The UFO burger tasted like cardboard according to my husband. He only ate 1/4 of it and left the rest on the plate. The onion rings though were good with a spicy peppery batter. Michelle was our waitress and she did a fine job, refilling my ice tea and of course my other half enjoyed his thick, flavorful imperial stout. We will be back again for the dates and beer, probably not the other stuff. Amen. P.S. We took the 3/4 uneaten hamburger home to the dogs, and they refused to eat it. Very cute themed pub! Food and drinks were both very good, and we loved the decor and atmosphere. All the employees were very nice. I'd definitely come here again, however it did take a very very long time to get the servers' attention each time we needed something even when they weren't occupied, and the food also took a long time. That being said -- no worries, I understand everywhere's busy and understaffed right now -- but it was definitely noticeable, so this might not be the place for you if you need to be out of there by a specific time. read more

Our waitress may as well have been the lead singer of Nine Inch Nails. Not conducive to clearing a table of dishes.
