Oh my goodness, Yes! Do this! Seriously, there is no better way to start off your trip than to walk off the plane, make your way to baggage claim and have someone standing there with a sign to greet you and give you a beautiful flower lei. I made the arrangements for this and did not tell my friends about it because I wanted them to be surprised. They were so surprised and happy about it and kept talking about how happy they were to get a lei at the airport. It's a completely genuine experience to be surprised at the airport like this as compared to getting one at a luau where you would expect it. Anyhow, it was a big hit! Alii Greeting was awesome. Our flight had been delayed by an hour so I emailed them to let them know. They are located at the airport and they actually monitor the flights, so they were already aware of the delay and prepared. Our greeter was so friendly. He asked if we had a rental car and showed us where to go to get it. He was so helpful. It really was a great start to our trip. My family was thrilled with their surprise leis at the Honolulu airport! I had this last minute idea of doing the lei greetings the night before my family left for Hawaii and started searching the Internet. I had tried 5-6 with either no availability, did not answer phone or wanted 3X the $$ for the exact same leis and added a $50 late booking surcharge. Finally I found Ali'i Greeting Service and their easy to use online ordering. It did say they could not guarantee availability with last minute bookings but I decided to try and got online confirmation. Early the next morning they emailed to confirm that it was this same day (yep!) and the flight number. After a 10 hour flight my family was surprised by the friendly greeter at baggage claim (other companies wouldn't do greeting as a surprise) and received orchid leis, the nut one, and candy leis for the kids. They were so excited. I highly recommend this company for great prices, great product, excellent communication and great service. read more

Had a great experience with Alii. They took a reservation for a greeting from me with only a couple of days notice. We flew from Boston and missed our connecting flight from LAX late in the day. I emailed Alii about the travel issues and they made every effort to accommodate me and my family for a last minute reschedule. They communicated with me multiple times about rescheduling options and even offered to meet us somewhere on the Big Island other than the airport to do the greeting. We couldn't make something work and ended up having to reschedule for a greeting on our flight from the Big Island to Maui when we landed in Maui. Then the greeting itself was wonderful. The leis were beautiful and the kids leis came with kukui bracelets. It really made our Maui leg of the trip start off so wonderfully! My daughters still play with the kukui bracelets (and the adults' kukui leis) months later at home. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and is totally worth the splurge! read more

I was pleased to find a lei greeting to meet us at the airport. I paid $52/ea for a double tuberose lei with orchid for three of us ladies (plus three Kukui nut lei's for the guys $27/ea). The ladies lei's looked tired, and tuberose had browned ends. Would not spend the money again if I had the choice. Wanted something extra special that would wow our group and ended up just ok. We had the perfect experience with the Alii Greeting Service. Our greeter met us just down the stairs adjacent to the baggage claim in front of a beautiful landscape of Maui holding a printed sign with our names. She was warm, welcoming and put the freshest Leis around our necks and immediately asked if we would like her to take a picture, and she took a perfect picture. She quickly oriented us to the baggage claim and car rental area and then give us our sign as a souvenir. It was so much fun and a great way to start a Hawaiian vacation. I booked a lei greeting through Hawai'i Discounts, and they used Ali'i. The recipients had air travel issues, so were several hours late, and arrived in Maui not only on a different flight, but also from a different airport. The service tells you to be sure someone in the group knows to look for a person with a sign, so the recipients knew to tell me their new flight info. I passed that on to Hawaii Discounts and they communicated right back with me - promptly and on a Sunday (July 7 so a holiday weekend as well)! They obviously got hold of Ali'i too, as the recipients got exactly what I ordered even though the arrival was so different. The photo the recipients texted me showed beautiful leis! read more

Our Greeter Duane (Also called Bruce) was awesome! He was right there when we came down the escalator. He presented us with our lei and greeted us with a smile! He then helped us find our way to baggage claim and then helped us find our way to get the Alamo shuttle for a car rental. He waited with us while we got our baggage to. This most recent time we booked their lei greeting service to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was really easy to book the greeting on their website. You just have to pick which type of Lei's you want and tell them all your airline flight info and they will meet you just as you exit the terminal with a sign. Our greeters meet us with beautiful smiles and a sign that said happy 10 year anniversary. They were both so warm, sweet, and friendly. They also guided us to baggage claim, helped us with our bags and walked us to our car rental spot. ali'i leis 808-877-7088 did not have the lei and bracelet for my party who arrived. stated that they called their name and stayed until the last bag was picked up, but that seems pretty unlikely. call center person, mellissa had a terrible attidude - wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise ... (apparently they are located in south carolina) so much for the aloha spirit. they will refund my money, that's the least they can do. read more
