BEWARE! Something really bizzare happened at Allioto's today. When we came to pick up our car from repairs we were told to pay the balance for an additional fender damage not covered by the insurance provider. When we asked to check the work done first they claimed that both fenders (front and back) were damaged so they went ahead and fixed both. The only thing - we only had the rear fender damaged when the car was brought it. Their technician came out and showed us close-up detail photos of our car (or what they claimed was our car) with front and back fenders damaged. It was really bizzare because both my husband and I remember very well that only the rear fender was damaged. In addition, the insurance company USAA also took photos of all the damage when we brought the car to their office for an estimate in San Rafael. When we made our case at Allito's - both Stacey (front desk) and the technical dropped their story, looked uncomfortable and told us "it's ok, no need to pay the balance" and "we are not sure what happened". Really shocking. We don't know if they actually damaged the front fender during the repairs and quickly repaired it or if they took a photos of a different car with a damaged front fender and added it to our photos but either way it was super sketchy and odd. We were both left speechless and just left. Unacceptable! Please make sure you are paying for the service actually provided when at Alioto's. I never had this happened before (used them twice in the past) at that shop but I know their ownership and management changed recently. read more

I had a terrible experience with Quality Autobody regarding customer service and the work on my car. Customer service: Dealing with the office here was a complete headache. The old lady they have working is nice but completely unable to get the information you need. They will never call you back and you have to call multiple times to get any update on your car. I was told they would have my car for a total of 1 week, at the end of the week I called to get a status update (which required 3 phone calls) and finally was told it would take longer. Multiple people in the office gave different estimates on how much longer it would take. The following week I started getting updates on the status of my car making me believe they didn't even start work on my car until then. Car work: The work on the car turned out decent but there we many signs of carlessness: The headliner of my car was left with stains in the interior that were not there before. There was visible overspray from the painting that was left on the exterior of the car. Overall I would avoid Quality Autobody both for your and the sake of your car. read more

Top notch! The absolute best. Completely honest and trustworthy. Quality Auto Body had previously done work on my 2015 Mazda 3. I was so pleased, that I went back today with my 2019 Mazda 3 that had some unsightly dents and scratches. Julie is the shop's manager and a complete professional. She looked at the work I thought would need to be done. She then took a rag with some industrial strength paint thinner and wiped away almost all the damage. I wouldn't have known the difference if Julie had given me a $2000 estimate to fix everything and kept my car for a few days. I want to give a BIG SHOUT-OUT to Quality Auto Body in Mill Valley: to Nick, Julie, and Joanne for going way above and beyond the usual level of repair service. If you are anywhere in Marin and have a collision/body work issue, go see these people - on La Goma in Mill Valley. Old-fashioned small town service from really nice and very competent people. The story: Five weeks ago this morning, my Red Rocket was towed off for repairs after someone tried to steal it from in front of my house. The good news is that they were unsuccessful, my insurance company didn't total the car, and they covered the repairs + a rental car. But FIVE WEEKS? It was towed to Marin Collision Center (don't go there) and they sat on this job for two weeks, telling me that they couldn't find the parts. I used The Google and found dozens of after-market parts. They continued to say they just couldn't find the parts but were really looking. In frustration I called my insurance agent (not the adjuster) and he recommended this little family-owned business in Mill Valley. For whatever reason, Nick - the shop manager, accepted the challenge. One hitch, though: is this is not the work they generally do. They found the parts: a door lock and an ignition switch, but with different keys. They could have just installed those parts and handed me two keys, in addition to my original key which would still open the passenger door and the hatch. Instead, they called a locksmith who took my key and retooled the door lock and the ignition switch to match my old key. They did not have to do that. Plus they gave it back to me washed and vacuumed. I hope that I don't need any collision repair work again, but if YOU do, go to Quality Auto Body in Mill Valley. read more

I can see 6 Stars for Quality Autobody, but I am only allowed to go to 5 stars here. I had a unique situation perhaps; child's car, needed repair NOW so it was drive-able. Child needed to get to work and couldn't do so without her side-view mirror. Julie moved so fast, I had to re-adjust my thinking in order to keep up. I was looking for a time and estimate, and she was writing up the paperwork and asking me for the key. Within a very short period of time, the car was drive-able again, and Julie and her team worked within a young adults budget. Waaaaay cool, and more than one could ask for. I had a problem with my new Toyota Prius Hatch not latching and the dealership worked on it for an hour and said they could not fix it and claimed it was a body problem not a mechanical problem (denying coverage under my platinum extended warranty and costing me 4 hours of phone calls, rides back and forth and still no solution). This busy body shop listened to my story and came out and took 30 seconds to confirm that the latch simply had some garden bark stuck inside and then fixed it right on the spot. No charge. We have used then many other times on our various dings and dents and they always take the time to try to provide us with a practical solution understanding that body work is costly! It's hard to put into words my appreciation for the job I asked Nick, the long time owner 1963, to do for me. I needed a bumper removed and install a new one on the back of my older RV.. I searched high and low for a compassionate ear to have this done. I was chasing possibilities for 100 miles until I asked Next Door. Up popped Quality Auto in my neighborhood. I brought him my rig and with an open face and heart he said I can probably do this for you and quoted me a price. He said bring it in next day. I have to admit the job was not as easy as we thought initially but he figured it out and I could not be happier. And he charged me the original price when it must have been double and I would have paid it. I was very lucky to be referred to Quality Autobody by my State Farm Insurance Company. A long time neighbor, I never had the necessity to visit this shop. Unfortunately, on the purchase of a new car, I had a little parking lot fender bender which required expert attention. My entire experience from first contact, to intake, to fix, and follow up was nothing short of delightful. I had a quarter panel repaired on my car. The repair itself was very well done. You can't tell there was any damage. However, there were pieces of tape left in the wheel well and adhesive was left on the edge of the wheel well. Also, there was a straight line of some sort of top coat left on the top of the car where it was taped off. The car was ready a few days before estimated so it may have been rushed. Customer service could use better communication of the process for those who are new to body work. Julie was abrupt and borderline rude in her approach. read more

The people here were extremely dishonest and entirely disinterested in doing the body work and repairs properly. They were concerned with payment from the insurance company. It was astounding how freely they lied to us and how poorly done the work was. They used aftermarket parts on our car while ultimately damaged the catalytic converter. Very expensive. This was the worst repair experience ever. Shady, dishonest people and a repair manager pretended no not to k ow the parts were not meant for the car. But they were cheap, and saved the shop money. This kind of deception and lack of ethics is not an exception. It is their business practice. read more

I have used this autobody shop before and had challenges. This time is the last time. I took the car in so they could assess what needed to be done and order the part. I never heard from them once the part arrived - which they said they would call me. I set up a time to take the car in to get it installed. I did not hear back from them to find out when it would be ready, when I did they told me they ordered the wrong part. They said they would get back to me on what the new part would cost and when they could get it. Turns out it was $1000 more than the original part. There was a lack of coordination between the people working there, as well as in communicating with me. So, after two trips to Quality, I never was able to have the car repaired. I can't believe how rude the manager is! Maybe she was having a bad day or something, but I have never had someone at a body shop act so annoyed and agitated at asking basic questions or just in general. I don't even have to pay for my body work (my insurance is covering work needed because I was rear ended) but I don't want to go back because the manager was so unkind and rude to me.
