I'm going w two stars cause they were nice and responsive! The work was cheap , never meshed properly, hit on little hole and dislodged the cheap aftermarket goods which weren't agreed to , they assumed I'd only want it or made more . The AC condenser wasn't sealed correctly after job so I was leaking fluid in a new system basically! Overall poor quality! Then the shop in Rohnert Park near where I live had to glue the crappy job so I don't lose my grill in poor design 14 Camry Low Bumper . Once the job was over they claim you messed it up . How come other cars don't fall apart after a small ditch easily maneuvered out from , I've driven almost2,000,000 miles . So Mr Anthony just cost this establishment 3 whole stars. After my this being my whole families go to auto repair shop for years and dismissing the inconsistencies, I had a 5 star review written. But after watching Anthony speak to the front desk girl like a peasant, to me with no class or professionalism and walk around the office with no mask while customers are inside I can not rate this place the way I wanted to. I come down from Novato to pick up my car today and it is not done. Half done in fact! I guess Anthony expected me to just take it as is. When I expressed that I wasn't happy with the work, him being in a rush, his demeanor changed and he became frustrated. Instead of him explaining what will happen next he just says, "ok". Ok what? So I ask, "what do I do now". He says, "well how did you get here?" Like I'm supposed to know that I should just in my car and drive off. We then go inside so that he can look at my work order. He then asks me if I want to stay so they can buff it out, never disclosing how long it will take. (It needed way more than a buffing) So I responded, "no I would rather not wait I left my son at home alone". He then turns to the receptionist and demands that she call Enterprise to come pick me back up. She was taken a back by his tone, as was I, and you could tell by her body language that she was extremely uncomfortable. One thing I do not tolerate is an aggressive disrespectful man. At this point he wants to argue with me. Ultimately he's just upset that he has to deal with this situation being as though it is not his claim and he was stepping in for someone. Regardless, there is a level of professionalism that one must maintain when dealing with customers. Especially when the customer is justified in their complaint. After arguing back and forth about who is in their feelings about what, he lets me know that it will only take 10 mins. Well shit, you should have said that outside and we wouldn't be going through this right now. He yelled at that girl to call for a rental car when the job will only take 10 minutes, that makes no sense at all Anthony. 10 mins later they pull my car back up, STILL not properly done. Who's the professional here? Me or you guys? It will all work out in the end but Mr. Anthony needs to learn how to respect and speak to women. Cut to: I get in the car with my rental car pick up girl and she proceeds to tell me that her manager noticed that something was wrong with the Blake's receptionist. "My manager answered the phone when she called and said she didn't sound right" Unacceptable! Uncalled for! Toxic energy! Important note: Bud is a gem. A complete sweetheart and has made me and my sisters experiences here a breeze. He alone is worth 5 stars. Ps. The roof in my moms Cadillac is still leaking, maybe Anthony can figure out how to properly fix that since he thinks he's so important. read more

I have always been impressed by the workmanship and customer service I have received from Blake's Auto Body. So, when my Prius had a few minor cosmetic "injuries", I knew where I wanted to go. Jason Hespe, the Assistant Manager, greeted me within seconds of my arrival. I was amazed at how much time he took to answer my questions and to discuss my options. He even talked with me about the issue of catalytic convertors being stolen from Priuses (which had nothing to do with why I was there). He then asked if he could take my car "to get a better understanding of what was going on." He returned about 15 minutes later and informed me that he had fixed two of the minor problems---for free! I am a repeat customer of Blake's Auto Body. Two days ago, I took my vehicle in to initiate a warranty repair, which Blake's refused. The manager (Anthony Algood), while physically inspecting my vehicle, scratched my clear coat and did not acknowledge/apologize for the damage. In refusing the repair, he provided reasoning which did not reflect the warranty repair statement listed on Blake's company website. I spoke with Mr. Algood twice, even showing him his company's warranty repair statement, to which he could not provide a clarifying response. During this interaction, Mr. Algood became negative and accusatory, and he also provided me with inaccurate information that only served to only muddle the conversation, a conversation which we both walked away from without a proper resolution. As a result of this interaction, I messaged Blake's Auto Body directly through their main contact page to provide feedback and have yet to receive a response (it's been several business days now). Suffice it to say, I am disappointed in Blake's Auto Body, especially in light of the positive experiences I've had with Blake's in the past. This recent experience and Blake's lack of response and irresponsibility is a shock and wholly unjustified. read more

In fact, they reassured me that what I thought was a problem, wasn't and told me that if I needed more help to make a future appointment. They even checked in with my alignment shop to make sure they had the right information before making a decision on my vehicle. Don't Bother! Go someplace else. This is no longer Blakes. So been going to Blakes for years and they were great. But they apparently sold to some national outfit called CrashChampions. Anyrate, went Blakes San Rafael to get an estmate. No question we were going to use them. But it is now this new company, We got there just aftere12:00. Turn out everyone takes lunch at the same time and no one to give us an estimate. We were told to make an appointment for a bid. Not going to happen. We were there and not planning on making a special trip back. The old Blakes would have taken care of us. This new company seems to think we are supposed to take care of them. I assume the new company bought Blakes's in part due to the goodwill from years of loyal clients. Makes no sense to treat long-standing Blake customers this way. There are lots of body shops in San Rafael, and why not use one that shows a little respect to its customers? I went through the trouble of going to San Rafel to find them. It seems that CrashCompanions can somehow figure out how to give estimates during lunch without requiring an appointment. The general rule of business is that once a client is in the door, that is the time to make things happen. Telling us to come back is not a smart way to conduct business. Not dealing with some national chain and thier corporate mentality. read more

A lady backed into my truck while it was parked in front of my house and she left a note with her name and phone number. Her insurance covered the repair work, including towing and rental car (sweet!) and I was given a few choices of body shops in San Rafael that worked directly with her insurance company. I surfed Yelp to see what people had to say about the various body shops and chose Blake's based on those reviews. With one phone call, I had the truck towed from my house and an estimate done in a day. I was asked to authorize the ordering of repair parts needed, and once that happened, they replaced the parts and painted the truck before transferring it to the alignment shop. Everything happened with no effort on my part. I got updates every other day and while worrying that I'd never get a rental pickup truck at Enterprise (another story) I got the call that my truck was nearly done and would be ready the next day. I have dealt with a few body shops over the years and none have been as fast, professional, or as helpful in explaining the process involved. The end result? It's perfect! Now I want the rest of my 10-year old truck to look as perfect as the repaired section. The truck drives better after the alignment was done too. So getting backed into wasn't so bad after all - if you choose the right body shop. read more

I'm compelled to debunk the 5 star ratings on this body shop based on my experience. The 5 star rating hooked me in. I should've paid attention to my gut the first time I stepped foot into their offices to ask for an estimate. A guy came around from the front desk and indignantly glared at me to say that if I was not having my car repaired at their shop that they would not give me an estimate! That was weird because that's what people do, get estimates prior to making a decision. I felt uneasy after that interface and left. After thinking about it, I decided that maybe the guy was having a bad day and after all they did have great reviews. Blake's was in my insurance's network and I wanted to work with my newly chosen insurance company so I decided to let them fix my car - BIG MISTAKE. I was in a parking lot bumper collision, rear ended by an SUV backing out of space, and what I thought was minor damage to my car but had to be fixed. Took it to Blakes for repair and my car was returned to me in a few short days and the repair was shoddy at best. The fit was wrong and the finishing where the alignment of the bumper and side panels met were unsightly, alignment spacing not tight, turn signal lamps not fitting properly into the space. The rear mud guards that were pried from my car prior to fixing were reinstalled back with edges that were butterflied at the corners - really! It turns out they used after market parts and was the reason for the problems. Per my insurance company, Blakes needed to satisfy the repair and so back to Blakes it went. Returned to me a second time and there were still problems with fit and the paint did not match. I finally decided to take it to a different shop that was not in the network and because I wanted to make sure this time that the right OEM parts would be used. That shop was Barsottis and their inspection discovered damage inside the bumper that was not addressed by Blakes and saw other repair discrepancies. Unbelievable for Blakes to not even let me know of the damage within the bumper. My overall opinion of Blakes auto body shop: totally unacceptable work, lacked transparency and integrity, rude and unprofessional. So people, BEWARE - take 5 stars with a grain of salt. And if you are looking for a great body shop - go to Barsottis, they cost more but they are thorough and honest. They will do your car and you justice. read more

Taking my car here has got to be the worst experience I've ever had at an auto body shop. I brought the car to this shop as they were the closest of the ones recommended by my insurance company (Geico) to get a quote for fixing some minor cosmetic damage to the front end. The car was involved in a minor fender bender where the other car only suffered some superficial scratches to the rear bumper and my car had both pieces of the front grill dislodged but not broken or cracked and the splash guard came detached. They looked at it and gave an initial quote of $3900 I thought this to be a bit high for the amount of damage but left the car with them so they could conduct a further investigation to see what else might be wrong - I didn't think there was as I had been driving the car for a month after the accident with no problems lights gauges or noises to indicate otherwise. A few days later they contacted me and advised that the actual quote was now $6200 and that's when I realized something fishy was going on. They listed several things they said were damaged or broken and asked if I would give them permission to proceed with the work. I told them, no that I did not feel comfortable having my insurance company charged that much for what was minor cosmetic damage and for things I did not want fixed. He told me I did not have a choice now as the car was in pieces on their shop floor and they wouldn't put it back together unless I agreed to the more expensive repair quote. He said I already signed paperwork giving them permission but I told them no I signed some that said it would cost $3900 and gave permission to conduct further investigation not repair. They continued to insist that I call to discuss which I did not I wanted to correspond in emails only so I would have a written record. They refused to do that stating this would not be handled via email!! Again it sounds fishy when companies fail to want things in writing as that is not very transparent. A couple weeks go by with no replies to my email request and they finally call my wife to discuss telling her they can fix it at $3900 but since they already ordered all the parts and Geico paid them already for the increased repairs they would have to refund us the money and we would then have to refund Geico. Again I'm thinking why would they order parts for repairs they wanted to get further permission for. So in the end she told them to fix whatever Geico agreed to but I'm pretty sure they just fixed few things out of the many they listed to make the car look nice then collected extra money for items and labor time they did actually nothing for and made a pretty penny running a bait and switch scam on my insurance company (and many others over the years no doubt) These kinds of scams only serve to increase all of our yearly insurance rates as well as lining the pockets of these shop owners and possibly the insurance adjuster's who approve of the more extensive and expensive repair quotes for a kickback. It is my belief that this shop needs to be investigated for insurance fraud. Whatever you do do not bring it here for a 1st quote maybe a second and do not leave it with them to "investigate further" you'll be stuck without a car for days or week read more

Despite having given them really good business in the past, Jason refused to even given me an estimate on my car. I was rear ended at a red light. The other party claimed responsibility but gave me a really bad estimate. I went to blakes autobody and told them i would like to get a supplemental estimate. I went their because couple of years ago i had got my car repaired there. But this time Jason looked at the damage and just told me the value of the car is less than the cost of repair. And flatly he said he is not going to waste his time writing the estimate for damages. Really!!! Thats how you treat your repeat customers. Terrible customer service. Alright kids, settle in, this is a long, but good story. My friends were in town from the East Coast and I took them all around. We ended up at Fisherman's Cove in Bodega Bay and enjoyed a scrumptious meal. We noticed a SUV parking in the compact spot next to my car, but I didn't think anything of it. When we walked back to leave, that's when we noticed that the SUV had sideswiped my car. After taking pictures, I took my Brooklyn self back into the restaurant and made a fool of myself yelling. Please note that the restaurant didn't help so a pox on them. The owners came out and while the guy was apologetic, his wife was not so a pox on her too. Anyways, we exchanged insurance information. This was a Sunday afternoon and I set a reminder to call my insurance to kick off the process that week. Now what happens next is karma I didn't deserve but I accept the lesson on grace. Monday afternoon his insurance co. (Allstate) contacted me and asked for the photos along with a description of what occurred. I emailed pics to them and within a day they accepted the claim, sent me auto shop repair and car rental options. After checking Yelp reviews, I chose Blake's. That very afternoon, Eric called me to set an appointment for me to bring the car in for an estimate. I went in and less than 20 minutes later, had an estimate along with an appointment to bring the car in. Brought the car in, they called the rental co. and I was set. I just picked up my car and I am in awe! The estimate was for 4 days, they were done in 2. They also fixed a cracked fender light and cleaned my car! The service was unbelievably friendly (thank you Eric!), courteous, professional and every good word I can't think of right now! The repair is also guaranteed for as long as I own the car. I am truly so happy for the fabulous level of service I received, along with the gift of good karma from the universe. My experience was so amazingly precise from start to finish I am going to switch to Allstate and Blake's will be my go to shop from now on! read more

There were some minor needed touch-ups I pointed out to her, which she in turn notified the detailers, and they were more than happy to address my concerns on the spot.
