I found and purchased my wedding dress and was so excited! When it came in and I put it on, it was WAY too big. I went with the size the bridal store recommended and was panicked when I put it on. The dress is very intricate and has a lot of boning over the bust and down to the waist. The dress posed a big challenge to a seamstress as it had to be completely taken apart and put back together much smaller in order to fit correctly. I was so nervous after talking to a couple seamstresses that were too scared to try to alter it. Then, I went to Lana Gerimovich at Alis Fashion Design and my prayers were answered! Lana is definitely the best in the industry. The excellence of her website photos reflect the true quality of her work. And yet, she is remarkably reasonable in her pricing. I am almost embarrassed to think about how much work and expertise she incorporated in my daughter's wedding gown. Let me explain.. My daughter lives in Tucson, but will be married here in Georgia. We had purchased a Lazaro gown and she had recently had it tailored by another lady in Arizona. The lady did a good job, but had forgotten to apply buttons etc until the last minute when my daughter arrived, so she applied them as my daughter waited... The cost was around $280. The gown needed to be cleaned as it was discontinued and off the rack. The dry cleaners somehow cleaned it wrong and destroyed the fabric! The buttons were falling off I noticed. So I was last minute trying to replace this gown long distance for my daughter with a short time frame. Well, I found a Lazaro gown in a size 10 similar to the first one online. I had it cleaned first, then sent it back to Arizona to my daughter for alteration. This time we took it to Lana. Immediately, my daughter could tell she was in good hands. Lana is a lady with much experience and I consider her something of a perfectionist. She distinguishes between a perfect fit and a close to perfect fit, since she makes her own designs if I am not mistaken. But it shows in her work. I think she sort of took charge of making the proper suggestions, instead of leaving it up to my daughter, which was nice for me as a mother since I could not be there. The finished product is a great fit. Not sure how she did it moving a size 10 all the way to a size 4. but it is lovely and the price was hardly more! Thanks Lana! read more
