Visited Houston from Dallas and was lucky to have found this spot! Tried the muglao porota, beef haleem, daal puri and cha. Everything tasted amazing!! Stopped here while passing through Houston on the way to Austin as I was craving some authentic Bangladeshi food. Definitely a hole in the wall. There's a very small and limited grocery area but was pleasantly surprised to see a good selection of fishes eaten by Bangladeshis. We had white rice and shorshe ilish (hilsa fish in mustard gravy). The ilish was great and satisfying. I would have tried more dishes but unfortunately they were out of vegetables and daal (lentil soup). We came at an odd time which was neither lunch nor dinner so that's understandable. While we were eating there, many bengali patrons came in, bought food and conversed with the owner. In Austin, we can only find Indian and Pakistani biryani so we were super excited to find Bangladeshi style biryani and took an order of goat biryani along with samosas to go. And on man, did this hit the spot or what! Cravings were definitely satisfied! The biryani had the aroma and taste we were looking for and the samosas were straight up excellent! Best part - The rice, fish, tea, samosas and biryani total was under $20 so no complaints on pricing! Customer service is usually lacking in these types of joints and unfortunately this place was no exception. No one was friendly but not rude either. We waited a long time for the biryani only to find out it was packed and sitting by the counter for a while. The cashier then later said he thought we knew the food was ready and I'm like how am I supposed to know if no one mentions anything? Anyway, I don't doubt any of the negative reviews here regarding unfriendly service, poor management, miscommunication and stale food but I don't put too much weight in those categories for cheap ethnic hole in the walls. read more

All Bengal is a horrible restaurant. It is infested with roaches and mice, and you can find the evidence in the kitchen. I know this because I used to work there. The owner told be to simply take the roaches out of the cooked food, and kill them. You do not have to disclose that you found roaches in the food to the customers. What a customer does not know, will not hurt the customer and we will be able to continue with our business. Absolutely horrible. They were watching something in theor phone i guess thats what is important then having customers. All the food was warmed in microwave and you can tell by looking the food was couple of days old. They have the best Indian(Bengali) sweets in town. My favorites are Kheer-Kadam, Ras -Malai, Sandesh and Balushahi. Unlike other places these are fresh. The samosas and kachoris(dal puris) are good as well. The rest of the food is not much to talk about but then, who cares! read more

I went there to purchase rohu fish that cost about $3.49/lb. Their fishes are kept in the freezer. Their Rohu fish tasted okay not great. I love the catfish from 99 Ranch way lot better. This store is the only Togo place for Rohu and hilsa fish. However they are frozen but sometimes to satisfy my Indian taste buds we pick the fish from here. This place is not too well maintained but they have good variety of Bengali sweets . We always pick rasgulla so my review would suggest to try them. Other than rasgullas I never tried anything else. I visit this place at least once a month to have a taste of Bangladeshi food. Till now I have tasted Hilsa, Rui, shutki varta (dry fish), chicken curry and chicken biriani and all of them are delicious. Their sweets (kacha golla and laddu) are also very good. There is a grocery beside the restaurant that sells raw food imported from Bangladesh. One thing I should mention, the place could be cleaner. read more

They have a desi grocery store attached as well. People are friendly and you get to see lot of bangla speaking folks. Delicious Bengali food at a good price. I had the dal, as I'm vegetarian, and the meal came with a huge plate of rice. I'm not sure why others complain of the service, as we ordered at a counter and then later had the food brought to the table. It's not a fine-dining establishment so perhaps others need to not expect being waited upon. They gave us leftover food at sat day morning..everything was leftover from the last night.Not cleaned messy dinning area.AC don't work properly. I drove from Austin to Houston to have bengali food, and I am glad to admit I wasn't disappointed. Specially, I really liked the desserts. Fish was good, I took both fish curries, rohu/rui and illish/hilsa. I liked the service as well although, I might be biased as I am bengali myself. I am thankful they satisfied my home food craving and I am definitely coming back. Maybe they can add more fish dishes, the name is 'all bengal' and bengal lives and dies for sea food. Kind of a hole in the wall, but they serve fantastic homestyle Bengali food. If you've never had Bengali food, you have to try it! Similar ingredients and dishes to Indian and Pakistani food but completely different in taste and execution. I absolutely adore their goat biryani. It's no frills and seems simple but the flavor is just amazing. If you can leave it until the next day, that makes it even better. The goat curry is great as well. Again very different from Indian and Pakistani curry, but absolutely worth trying. I felt like I was eating at one of my Bengal friend's home. It was very spicy, but flavorful. All of their food had a high level of spice so be warned. The only thing I didn't love was the beef samosas. It was nice and crispy, but it needed more salt or something. The restaurant is spacious, but nothing fancy. It's worth eating there for the experience but it's not a date night spot or anything. There is also a grocery store attached with Indo-Pak, Bengali groceries. I was the only person in the restaurant who wasn't from Bangladesh so you know the food is good and authentic. read more

Tried the fish masala, chicken briyani, fish cutlets, and beef spring rolls. The highlight of the meal is definitely the fish cutlets - a deep-fried mix of fish and potato (kinda like fish croquettes) - haven't seen this offered in any different Indian/Pakistani restaurant in Houston. I also think that they cook the chicken briyani using a bit different spices compared to other Indian/Pakistani restaurant - it's just taste different to me. This is one of only two places that serves traditional Bengali food in Houston. I've been there quite a few times, I particularly love three dishes of theirs which are all made exactly how they are made in Bangladesh: 1. Haleem - I Have this every time I visit 2. Sweet Yogurt (Mishti Doi) 3. Hilsa fish with Mustard seed. The Rohu fish curry and Rashmalai are very good too. The food was good a year ago when I first went there and had manksa kosha and sorse ilish. Went there recently,it was quiet disappointing. Tried the same dish again but manksa kosha tasted more like general goat curry, and the ilish was missing that nice sorse taste although it was sorse ilish.
