Very poor in taste 1/10 food, lots of chilli pushed into your dishes for no reason. Hygiene and other constraints as well, it is a food truck rather than a dhaba or a restaurant. Very bad experience over all.

My friend (a fellow Elite Yelper) and I were in the area and she suggested we get some Indian food from this food truck. She kept ranting and raving about how good it was and all I could think was... INDIAN FOOD FROM A FOOD TRUCK?! Smh & Lol. Well, I'm glad I tried it. I ordered the tiki masala chicken and garlic naan bread. That was probably the BEST Indian food I have ever tasted in my life and yes it came from a food truck. This little truck is parked in a gas station lot and has tent covered seating for your finding pleasure. It rivals any restaurant. Promise! The ingredients are fresh and the food is DELICIOUS! If I lived closer I would probably eat here every single day!

First food truck I've come across in Houston that sells Indian, but there were always a few people dining there whenever I drove by, so figured it was worth a shot. Ordered chicken tikka masala (spicy) with garlic naan, both freshly made when I ordered. Very tasty, and went well with the cold weather outside. Only complaint is that it is expensive for food served out of what looks like a converted U-haul truck. Probably won't go every week due to the price, but its worth coming back for a second trip.

A food truck that don't move, like a bird in a cage. We were tied down at the mechanic shop next door, so choices were limited since walking is obviously out of the question without ac. The recognizable choices: Tandoori chicken is bland like a grey sparrow. Much more expensive than Popeyes a few hundred yards away. C+ Chicken ticks masala. Creamy, tasty, just enough spices and smoother than a rollsroyce. A Naan. Fluffy bread, just what Dr Atkins warned us about. 3 extra servings later, still A. Good spot to munch, weird atmosphere with lots of quiet drunken people. Spooky but enjoyable.

Mix the fascination of food trucks and the wonder of Indian Food and you get Tandoori Nite. A little out of the way from central Houston, but well worth the drive out to their location. This truck sits next to a gas station and has several picnic style benches under a canopy. On cold nights they have outdoor heaters and a fire pit going to allow customers to still enjoy the outdoor seating. The men that man the truck are always friendly and offer great suggestions. Unlike most food trucks, you place your order, eat and then pay for your meal. Their prices are reasonable and the food is great tasting.

I hate food trucks, I think they are a pretentious trend, but for some reason I was drawn to this place. Even still I really wanted to try this place out. Maybe because you don't really see that many food trucks in Alief and Indian ones at that, or maybe because I am just a fat ass... Some things going for this place is that it's really unique, it has a real working tandor in the truck, the menu is huge and diverse, and the family working there is really nice. Also the night I went there were lots of Indian families enjoying dinner...always a good sign. Even with all these positives though, the food just wasn't that great in my opinion. I ordered chicken vindaloo and told them not to take it easy on me. I love this spicy dish and this one just didn't bring it. It was pretty mild and had a very citrusy note which I'm not used to, plus there were only a few pieces of chicken in the order. Also I was thinking that since it was a food truck it would be pretty cheap, but the price is only slightly less than average, and you get less food than if you were to go to a real restaurant. I really want to like this place and maybe I just had a bad dish. I'm going to try this place a few more times with a few more dishes before I dismiss this place as just another trendy food truck...

I started with the Dolmeh, the minced beef was seasoned very well. The pomegranate sauce was a bit strong for my taste buds. My main course was the Lamb Kabob which was spot on to my experience from the DC location. I did notice they were very generous with the raisins in the basmati rice. We arrived at the restaurant and waited for more than 30 minutes while our kids were hungry, and nobody seemed to even look up. After we had bothered the hostess several times that we are waiting to be seated, we were repeatedly told to wait. Finally, after nearly 40 minutes of waiting, we threw in the towel and left. They did not seem to care. The problem with restaurants becoming as popular as this place is that, as the customer base grows, they will care less and less. It seemed to us that they had overbooked the restaurant and were unable to find seating. The food may be good, but if the service is not commensurate with that, there is no point to dining at a place like this. It behooves management to pay attention to how many reservations they take and their ability to honor customers to reserved ahead.

We ordered the Habibi Feast, which is perfect for sharing and gives you a little bit of everything. It came with brisket, turkey, chicken, and sausage--and every protein was cooked to perfection. The brisket was tender with a beautiful smoke ring, the turkey was juicy, and the chicken had a great flavorful crust. For sides, we went with mac and cheese, creamed corn, potato salad, and fried okra. Honestly, all of them hit--especially the creamy mac and cheese and the fried okra, which had a perfect crunch. We also tried the brisket shawarma, and that was a standout. It's a really cool fusion of Texas BBQ and Mediterranean flavors--smoky, saucy, and packed with flavor in every bite. Overall, this spot brings a unique twist to traditional BBQ with its Mediterranean influence. Great food, great service, and a solid atmosphere--definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Highly recommend if you're in Houston and want something different from your usual BBQ spot.

Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

We were provided menus and started ordering everything that sounded good (within reason for 2, sorta). We ended up getting the Uyghur polo with lamb shank, Uyghur goshnaan, korma chop, garlic cucumbers, mint tea, and a yogurt for dessert. This was more than enough food for 2 but I wanted to try a bunch and this is me holding back. The Uyghur goshnaan was very crispy and the filling was flavorful and juicy, good lamb flavor and nice spices. The Uyghur polo with lamb shank was great and the pilaf had a nice sweetness with raisins that cut through some of the fatty richness of the lamb. The korma chop was also super flavorful with a nice savory sauce and noodled with an excellent texture, very QQ. I don't usually order cucumbers at Asian restaurants cause I can make a cucumber salad pretty easily at home but the one here was very good. Excellent refreshing crunch and garlic flavor to go with all the other dishes. The mint tea was also nice to wash down the mountains of food I was inhaling. I also enjoyed the yogurt, it's a thicker yogurt like a Greek yogurt and topped with honey and raisins. Again, a nice sweet/tart treat that didn't feel too heavy after everything else. I definitely need to come back as I didn't even get my big plate chicken but it'll be hard to choose between all the options.
