First time going there. Indian/Punjabi food truck - wow. They have maintained the standards and quality just like Indian Punjabi food. Except the dal makhani is suppose to be black in Color not yellow, apart from the color, it taste amazing. So I wouldn't take the star away. Butter chicken, and shahi paneer were good too. Absolute gem! The chicken biryani is always fresh And scrumptious. I tend to torture my self with the spicy-ness but it is irresistible (fair warning, spicy is SPICY) . Food was bomb the price was even better. I made a lamb dish at home and wanted to get some naan one night and came across Tandoori Nite. Almost like it was meant to be. Super fresh!!! The naan was dank, only a dollar. I wasn't the biggest fan of the puri thing with the chickpeas but I've definitely had worse!!! It's better than shiv sagar hands down. I would recommend this food truck to my friends and family and I will definitely be back for more. Another thing, I don't like the lassi anywhere and I have to say the mango and sweet lassi here both took me by surprise. Again better than Shiv Sagar. I'm not affiliated with either place. My friend (a fellow Elite Yelper) and I were in the area and she suggested we get some Indian food from this food truck. She kept ranting and raving about how good it was and all I could think was... INDIAN FOOD FROM A FOOD TRUCK?! Smh & Lol. Well, I'm glad I tried it. I ordered the tiki masala chicken and garlic naan bread. That was probably the BEST Indian food I have ever tasted in my life and yes it came from a food truck. This little truck is parked in a gas station lot and has tent covered seating for your finding pleasure. It rivals any restaurant. Promise! The ingredients are fresh and the food is DELICIOUS! I ordered the chicken tikka masala, thought that it was ok it tasted a little too sour for my liking. None of the dishes come with rice so you will have to pay extra for that. I also ordered the garlic naan but I've definitely tasted better naan elsewhere. I think next time I'll get my Indian food cravings from elsewhere. read more

First food truck I've come across in Houston that sells Indian, but there were always a few people dining there whenever I drove by, so figured it was worth a shot. Ordered chicken tikka masala (spicy) with garlic naan, both freshly made when I ordered. Very tasty, and went well with the cold weather outside. Only complaint is that it is expensive for food served out of what looks like a converted U-haul truck. This truck sits next to a gas station and has several picnic style benches under a canopy. On cold nights they have outdoor heaters and a fire pit going to allow customers to still enjoy the outdoor seating. The men that man the truck are always friendly and offer great suggestions. I hate food trucks, I think they are a pretentious trend, but for some reason I was drawn to this place. Even still I really wanted to try this place out. Maybe because you don't really see that many food trucks in Alief and Indian ones at that, or maybe because I am just a fat ass... Some things going for this place is that it's really unique, it has a real working tandor in the truck, the menu is huge and diverse, and the family working there is really nice. Also the night I went there were lots of Indian families enjoying dinner...always a good sign. Even with all these positives though, the food just wasn't that great in my opinion. I ordered chicken vindaloo and told them not to take it easy on me. I love this spicy dish and this one just didn't bring it. It was pretty mild and had a very citrusy note which I'm not used to, plus there were only a few pieces of chicken in the order. Also I was thinking that since it was a food truck it would be pretty cheap, but the price is only slightly less than average, and you get less food than if you were to go to a real restaurant. Now this one was completely out of the blue.. Group of friends, dinner plan, lets go to Tandoori Nights.. I was expecting a restaurant and what not, but next to a gas station, a truck!! First surprise. Have eaten from food trucks before, but long back and this one did not disappoint. Two visits during my recent trip and both turned out amazing. The Dal, the Nan's, the rice, the Paneer Tikka, fabulous... Second trip was pure desi, with Pav Bhaji.. Enjoyed it, the spread and smell of butter on the Pav, did indeed kept me licking my fingers for a long time. Chilled out place, nothing fancy, be ready to sit on benches and just relax. Good part about the Indian Store near the Gas station. You get your beer there. Grab a bottle, and enjoy with your food. Various Indian varieties make it a pure desi night... Suggestion: When you are headed out there, make sure you map out the place, unless you know it. Very easy to miss, the truck is on the side of the gas station, so unless you have some one in the car, who keeps a look out, you can very well miss it. read more

Wife and I are huge Indian food lovers. We even had our Valentine's Day at an Indian restaurant. So with our search for great Indian food we kept hearing about Tandoori nite. We decided to try this place last night and OMFG! The food is great! I got the chicken masala kabob, wife had the saag paneer, and naan. The food was hot, cooked while we waited (not frozen and then quickly cooked). Price is very affordable, there is outside seating, and they are opened from 5:30-10:30. At night. The only issue is this place is surrounded by sketchiness so park close and under lights. We will be returning here and as long as the quality is there then we will be a regular. read more

This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had!! I ordered the jeera aloo, garlic naan, and rice. It was all SO flavourful with the perfect amount of spice! And that too COLORED !! ... yes the paneer tikka was just mediocere with the way it was made, served and tasted with lots of color in it :-/ ... Frankly... we all were too hungry so we liked how the food tasted but i was not impressed with the way it was served... The paneer kadhai had RAW paneer pieces .. excuse me .. paneer needs to be cooked / fried or grilled before u add it to a veggie !! Garlic naan was way too chewy :-/... I like this place. Yes, it's outdoors, next to a gas station off of Highway 6, but there's something about that setting that adds to the charm! I've only been a couple of times but my friends love it (except that it's a bit of a trek outside the loop) and the food has been of consistent quality. The tandoori chicken is a safe bet, love the saang paneer, and everything else I tried has been solid although I can't remember what we ordered anymore. Prices are reasonable and it's BYOB. My husband and I came across this place thru a google search for chicken curry near us and it did not disappoint! The guy who took our order (who was also the owner I believe) was super helpful. We were unfamiliar with some of the items on the menu and he was so patient and friendly with my husband who continued to ask "what's this?", "What's in that?", "what is this?". We had the Chicken Tikka Masala (my absolute favorite dish- it's a tomato purée based dish) and the chicken shish Kabab (the green sauce that comes on the side is a must have- SO GOOD!) The people who come here have been coming for years and know everyone so it's a family knit spot.
