He removed a canister filter slightly further into the unit and said it was causing most of the problem. The replacement was $20 and he had one on hand. He also gave us a couple more tips on how to improve performance, and since we no longer have carpet in the house, he showed us a canister vacuum for when we are ready to replace ours. It is designed for bare floors and was a reasonable price. But we weren't ready for that yet, so we are going to get more use out of our now rejuvenated old one and replace it at a later date. This is a very small store, but not busy. So he doesn't wear a mask or encourage them, though he has a small air purifier on hand. He stated he doesn't know anyone who has gotten COVID but knows three people who have died of the flu, so if you feel the pandemic is overrated, you will find a sympathetic ear.
