I'm writing a 5-star review for a company I didn't actually do business with…read more A few weeks ago, I had what seemed like an emergency service need for my refrigerator. And, of course, it occurred on a Sunday afternoon. Knowing that the company handling my warranty would not be available for at least a few days, I searched out to companies that were available 24/7. Orlando Appliance Repair was one of those companies. Upon calling, the customer service rep put me in touch with their field-rep, Igor. I described the problem and he planned to show withing two hours or less ... on a Sunday afternoon! My refrigerator came back online and I contacted Igor to make him aware and cancel my appointment. He understood and just simply cancelled my appointment without fuss or cost. If a company can be this prompt and respective to new clients calling on a Sunday afternoon that they would end up not be getting business from that day, I can only believe that their actual work would be first-rate and I would not hesitate to connect with Orlando Appliance Repair for any related needs in the future.

I recently regretted doing business with RoadRunner Appliance Repair. When I called them, they…read morerequired a prepaid $160 trip fee, which I found odd, but since it was applied to the repair, I paid it. RoadRunner visited and determined my dryer needed a control board, which they ordered. About two weeks later, the technician arrived with the part and began working in my utility room without announcing his presence. After installing the control board and even replacing the motor, the technician, named Justin, declared the dryer unrepairable. I contacted the company after he left because I was very unhappy that my dryer was left in pieces, with none of the internal components connected. I spoke with the office manager, who informed me that their policy is to leave unrepairable items disassembled. After much discussion, I was refunded the initial $160 trip charge. Based on RoadRunner's assessment, I purchased a new dryer, installed it, and encountered the same issue: the unit would turn on and immediately shut off. I checked the electrical connection and discovered a neutral fault in the outlet. The outlet should have been the first thing the technician checked, but instead, they destroyed a perfectly good dryer. Their incompetence has cost me the $800 I paid for the old dryer and $500 for the less expensive replacement. On 11/25/24 I requested a call from the owner to discuss options for resolution, but my request has not yet been honored.

He went extra steps and found out why it hadn't been working and most likely prevented me from having a fire if I'd continued to try using it due to the control board and one of the switches being fried completely. The worst!! I got an evaluation of my GE dryer, which was not removing the water from my clothes…read more The owner, Eris, claimed it needed a new pump, which would take 3 to 5 days to get in. I paid a $99.00 service fee. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, he returned. After half an hour, Eris informed me that he could not remove the front panel--it had rusted onto the connectors--which were PLASTIC!! And he did not want to damage the porcelain. A general contractor, I got him some wood pieces, to protect the porcelain, while supplying sufficient force to pry the panel up and off without damaging it. He then asked if I had a mallet, which I provided him. He failed to budge the panel, insisting that these brittle little plastic pieces prevented the panel from coming off. Ridiculous. There had to be metal screws or other substantial fasteners, which he had missed. I suggested that he call GE Tech. He agreed. He lied. Then, to my shock, he and his assistant tried to sneak away around the back of the house without even speaking to me!! I confronted Eris, already in the running vehicle, to sign a statement that he was unable to repair the dryer and would refund the paid charge, as he had promised. What incompetence and deceit. After they left, I discovered that they had cracked the porcelain in two places, trying to pry the panel off with a screwdriver!! And never said a word!! Liars, incompetence, and deceit!

They are not out to rip you off and they want to make sure you are satisfied. Yes, there is a $75 trip charge but that is standard for almost every profession now. I called a plumber last week who charged $125 just to tell me that he couldn't repair the problem. We have had some problems in the past with the used appliances they repair at the shop. So it is hit or miss when they sell you something. Warranty is 90 days. I don't like the paint they use on some of the appliances. They spray paint almond colors with white and after a year the white is peeling off.

I called him to come look at my washer, and when he showed up he and his partner said, it's probably the drain pump, and he said if I order this and it's not the problem, I the customer is responsible for the cost, and then he said, I would have to do a diagnostic on the washer and I was responsible for that part as well. well his part said, I'm gonna check to see if it is the drain pump, and he took it apart and said, it is the drain pump. they ordered the drain pump KIT and when he showed up at my house with the pump it was not with the kit, and tried charging me for that. well, when I walked out to the garage I noticed his partner was taking old parts off my old drain pump, and I asked him, are taking old parts off my old pump, and he said, yes. so I kicked them out of the house and only paid him for his service for what he did. again he's a liar and a thief.

We had to pay a $20 service fee just to get them to come out -- not too bad. Had the appointment scheduled for a Saturday (no extra charge). Unfortunately, the power went out 15 minutes before Brian arrived so nothing could be done. Rescheduled for next Tuesday and did not have to pay another service fee. Turned out the noise was from a compressor vibrating against some other metal. Brian put a rubber buffer between the two and the problem was solved. They have a 90 day warranty on labor, but we are on day 3 and the noise has not returned. Paid a little over $200 - didn't have to pay for an expensive part, and we can now get some sleep!

I called…read moretheir number and was greeted by a friendly representative, who informed me of the 20 dollar call free, as well as a 120 dollar fee for them to investigate and if we don't hire them to repair it. The specialist came within schedule, and investigated our dryer. He spent about 1/2 hour to investigate as well as disassemble the control panel and other parts, and mentioned something about the heating element and another component being broken. He informed us that it would be better to buy a new dryer as the costs of repair would not be worth it (around 450 dollars). We appreciated his honesty and told him we will buy a new dryer for a store. Thus, we paid 140 dollars for the specialist to come and investigate, but no repairs. It was definitely costly, but we did appreciate their honestly. I also noticed that he had what looked to be a body camera, which wasn't mentioned. Thus, if being filmed rubs you the wrong way, it may be good to hire someone else. While I would recommend their service, I may check directly with the manufacturers if they do repairs as just the cost of the investigation from Hartman's was quite expensive.
