I was pleasantly surprised that a lady mechanic was working and she was able to drive my manual car to get it state inspected! She was knowledgeable, very quick, and I was impressed by how hard she was working as the only mechanic on duty this afternoon when I was there. There was a small waiting room (with bathroom) I could wait in while the inspection took place. There's plenty of parking outside. It's on a corner of a busy intersection but not impossible to get out of if you turn right out of the parking lot! This is the second time I've been to this location (my family is in the area) and both times they have been nothing if not accomodating. This most recent time they fixed an issue I had already asked twice from other mechanics to fix (and also offered what I was told was likely the issue) and was previously blown off yet they listened to me, agreed and fixed literally in 45 seconds. I made a reservation for a state inspection, and came early to my appointment. I was told that it would be "a little bit" and I asked what that meant, and the woman at the front desk just looked at me and said "there's a car in front of you." Okay, cool. Unhelpful but cool. Then I look to the waiting room for a place to sit and there were no chairs available. I was forced to sit outside, on the ground by the bays, for an unspecified amount of time. The waiting room didn't look great either though, dirty and run down so the ground was probably better. Best service I've ever received from a shop for my brakes! I was scammed by someone who I found on FB, who agreed to do it at my home for a fair price. I was scammed and ghosted. I still hold on to hope that this person IS okay, was injured, maybe lost their voice, ability to respond to text/phone/messenger, but I still needed to get my brakes done and no one was available, or willing to give me a break over the last two weeks. I called, last ditch effort, and they agreed to use my parts (no warranty), and install. They quoted me price and time, to get there asap. I did so and in a third of the tme they quoted me,it was done! They feel wonderful! I am ecstatic. They also treated me like a human being, not a dollar sign and not sone stupid, ignorant female. To say I'm annoyed is an understatement! This place is horrible! I called in advance, got a quote they ordered the tires for me and when I got there and started working on my car they changed the price! Now, I come back just to have them put on my snow tires (thinking simple enough, ha!). I call in advance, they told me they were open late tonight no need for an appointment they can get me right in. Mavis was already ahead of the game, when the gave me the best quote around for the work that I needed done on my car. I did a little research online into how much the job cost other people with the same car as me, and was surprised by some of the higher quotes that I received from other repair shops. While replacing my front oxygen sensor, changing the oil, and rotating the tires, the mechanic noticed a couple of issues that required immediate attention. The assistant manager Scott was very helpful in explaining what was wrong and made an effort to work with my limited budget. As a single woman with a limited knowledge of cars, I could probably be an easy target for overcharging or doing unnecessary work, but I do not feel like any work was recommended to me that wasn't absolutely necessary. I had a lot of work done for what was definitely a very fair price. My father also has bought tires from Mavis and he said that they gave him the best price around. Based on his experience and mine, Mavis will be my go-to garage whenever I need work done. read more

I stopped by on a Sunday to have my tires rotated. The employees were courteous and worked me in despite being very busy. Upon closer inspection after arriving home I noticed the tires had not been rotated. Two tires with very distinctive marks were in the same position as before. I called Mavis to verify they had rotated my tires and they maintained they had. I hope this was an honest mistake, but I'd recommend pre-marking your tires before a rotation so you can ensure the service was performed. read more

I called to get a price on tires and they told me over the phone that it would be $199 with an alignment included. I get here to pick my car up and they hit me with a "it'll be $290". One of the worst customer service i've ever dealt with. They don't know what's going on with their prices and now i'm out an extra $100 because I was told one thing over the phone to "get me in the door" and then another when the time actually came to ! read more

Bad service! Mid November 2018: I call to have snows put on. Called on Wed., asked to have done upcoming Saturday. Asked if i needed an appointment, because we had the early snow, knowing it would be busy. "Nope, just be here early, earlier the better". Told me they opened at 8:00. Saturday: There at 7:45, line of about 10-12 people waiting for it to open. Move towards office window, heard couple in front of us said they called earlier in the week like me and were told same "no appointment needed just be here early". I hear them tell couple won't be able to do it today! They walk out in disgust (rightfully!) So our turn comes. tells us the same thing, can't do it today. I tell guy sitting at service window we were told to just come in early, no appointment needed. "I don't know who told you that, but that's not right". Guess who told me that? Him, sitting right there, same guy that earlier in week said no appointment necessary! Also, want to add for someone else I ran into later that was there that same morning. She was given an appointment time on Saturday (spoke to different person?). she was told to come in at 8:00. She gets there, waited until 10:20 before tires were done. She asked "If I had 8:00 appointment, why did this take so long?". Their answer: "Well, a lot of people dropped their cars off the night before" . Never will go to this shop again. Go a couple more miles to Mavis in Village of Liverpool, talk to manager John, he knows what he is doing... Called Mavis and asked to speak to District Manager two and a half weeks ago. Was told he "would contact you within three days". Still awaiting his call. Likely he knows what's what about this sub-par shop. read more

Called Thursday and was told they don't make appointments to have tires installed, and that if we showed up when they opened Saturday that they would get us in. When we showed up 3rd in line they told us that they were filled up with appointments. How can you not make an appointment but be filled with appointments? read more

I had to make a same day appointment because my tire was leaking air bad. I went over right after work and they squeezed me in. Of course there was a wait, but I understood. They were really nice and they didn't charge me for the repair since I had bought the tires there. I am comfortable taking my car there everytime. read more

Making An appointment here means nothing. I had an appointment and it can still take hours because they don't care if you had an appointment or not then they act shocked that you won't leave the car when I checked off I would be waiting for the car. An appointment means nothing! read more
