I had a terrible experience with this towing company. They tried to scam me by pushing me to take my car to an unlicensed, non-existent repair shop. I looked it up online - no license, no real business. When I told them I wanted my car towed to a different shop, they suddenly raised the price of the tow. We live in a neighborhood where parking is limited, so a common practice is to park in front of our own house to drop off our loads of grocery(or whatever we buy) before driving off to find parking. We all do it, our neighbors as well. Today a neighbor was bringing in gym equipment, so he double parked in front of his house to unload his equipment. We all know gym equipment is heavy! He takes his weights into his house and when he comes out, this tow truck is here. In front of his own house, trying to hitch his car! We're watching all this unfold from our house window, so we step outside. These men were confrontational, and would not listen to any of us(the neighbors and owners). 1. It was NOT a fire lane, he was NOT blocking anyone. He was literally parked in front of his own driveway. 2. He was there for a short amount of time to unload his equipment 3. This is a private property! 4. All of the neighbors were against this tow. Literally no one wanted him to have his car towed. It makes no sense, the only logical reasoning is that this company is out for money. Mind you, we have a security guard on our property at ALL times, WHO is hired by the HOA, AND ALLOWS CARS TO BE DOUBLE PARKED. If this was a public street, then sure. Katie answered the call first - I was on the phone with her for 14 mins, shortly after Jake and Sunny came to tow my car. Everyone made sure I was comfortable and felt safe. They deserve a 0. My brother had his car towed illegally overnight from his friends apartment complex. His car had the parking permit on his rear view mirror and this tow company isn't even the contracted company for the apartment complex, and according to the apartment security, they never ordered a tow anyways. This is 1am so my brother thinks the car is stolen and heart broken. We call the police and they report it stolen. Then some 30 mins later they find out it was towed earlier but not posted on time. So we go to the tow company to get my brothers car. Very rude and unprofessional all the way around. First, they wouldn't answer calls. Then continually put us on hold and they wouldn't release the car until the next morning and after we paid $500+ (total BS). We get there and hear my brothers panic alarm going off in the back lot. Then someone gets there but they are rude and they became hostile and confrontational and ruin whatever car they were towing cause they did an 8-point turn to leave. At this point we call Police to get them involved again so we can finally get the car released. The cops arrive and are very kind and totally understanding. Giving us advice at how to proceed with this unlawful tow. The tow truck drive returns and still refuses to release the car unless we pay. He proceeds to taunt my mom and brother in front of the cops. The officer advises we pay and then how we can get reimbursed and advises steps for us to take to make a formal complaint. Unfortunately, SLPD cannot do anything because of our HOA parking policy. Several days later we spoke to Katie (owner). She was in contact with our HAS rep. She was very concerned about the situation and we discussed what happened. Katie agreed to refund and compensate for the loss of the hours for work. All Day Towing owner is not as bad as we all thought after talking to Katie. No one is perfect. Indeed, some of the drivers require more training than others. My HOA just had a vote and we will not longer be using their service. They drive around our neighborhood illegally towing cars. Our complex has 600+ units and under California vehicle code 22658 a tow company can not tow your car from private property with 15 or more units based on a blanket authorization order from the landlord or association. In other words a towing company operating in the State of California can't just drive through a complex looking for cars to tow in the middle of the night. Someone has to call them. The person who calls them must be present at the time the car is being towed. They must tell the tow company why the car is being towed. They have to point out the car being towed. The have to sign the authorization papers at the time the car is being towed and give their complete name, address and phone number. Trust me I am going to take this case to small claims court and to the Alameda county District Attorneys office. read more

This is the first time writing a yelp review and I feel the need to highlight businesses to give a glimpse with all the negative ratings I see here. I assume towing business reviews are nothing like restaurant reviews; people usually write to rant. Sure, I strongly dislike corrupt practices in any businesses for personal gain and impacting the wellbeing of others negatively. This includes towing, police, etc. I certainly cannot speak for all the staffs at All Day Towing except for the recent encounter with the owner Robert Miller. Our HOA recently hired a new 3rd party parking enforcement system that All Day Towing is using it for parking/towing enforcement. Since the system is still brand new to All Day Towing and the HOA, there is a discrepancies in the information that All Day Towing sees vs. what the residents see. With that, the car with the parking permit issued to was wrongfully towed. A full day spent on a Saturday chasing down the 3rd party parking system, HOA, and Robert was tiring to say the least. Just for clarity, this review is NOT about the parking enforcement portion of this business - I get why that might generate negative reviews. This is a review of their capabilities as a requested tow service. My car died in a remote part of the Castro Valley area late at night, and I requested a tow through State Farm's Roadside Assistance program. Car is a little unusual in that it is lower ground clearance than average. One tow company refused based on the ride height of the car. Second tow company refused also - same grounds. I got referred to All Day Towing as a last option, and at this point I was skeptical. The driver (Robert) showed up quickly and was obviously very experienced with various profiles of cars. He was quick, careful (he checked multiple times to make sure it wouldn't scrape the pavement), and very skilled. Car was up in the air within 10 mins max, and when he delivered the car to my house he placed it expertly into a parking space. The curb was right in front of my house. There was no writing on the curb stating it was a fire lane nor was I endangering traffic. Your car is kept in a dirt lot full of pebbles and potholes a good walk away from their actual office. Got towed for less than 2 hours and was charged $461cash ($475 credit). Be aware of this place! If I could no stars! My car was towed in May 2019 and sold by this place in June. In Nov I got a parking ticket. Whoever bought my car never registered my vehicle to their name. I called this tow place and they aren't helpful. They are very rude and give you the run around. Don't waste your time. I went to the DMV to find out that this place never filed the "Release of Liability" to their name, DMV told me that All Day Towing never even put it under their name! So I advise you to file the, "Release of Liability" to FOSTER REEDER (owner) or ALL DAY TOWING with DMV and take the paperwork that this tow mailed you. If you need a copy go get one at the tow place and if they refuses to give you the form (lien sale) call your local police right away have police show up and demand it right then. (I figured if someone is driving my car and commits crimes well I'm still responsible). If you chose to file the release of liability you can go online get a confirmation number. Also go back to the date they towed your car, especially if they sold it to protect yourself. I spoke to Hayward police and they said the DMV can go back to that date that car was towed. I told her my son got home from work and he was parking his Expedition realized he didn't have a reverse and some how end up in my neighbors yard across the street. I told her all I need is someone to hook him up pull him out of my neighbors yard and park it in front of my house which is directly across the street. Yes, it was in the way of a potential fire lane, but it wasn't in a red zone -- and it was clear where the person who parked the car was located. Didn't ring doorbell out of courtesy; just took the car in order to make an "easy" $380. Had to pick up in "off-hours", etc., and the location was frightening. The "employees" harassed my sister and my 10-year old nephew to the point all three of us stayed together at all times. They were completely rude, to the point of mocking us openly -- disgusting, unshowered human beings with few teeth and flea-ridden dogs everywhere in the smoke-filled office space. It was like "Deliverance" in the Bay Area; I kid you not. Also reporting them to the BBB and my HOA in order to get their contract canceled.
