I had a job that needed 1, 2, 3 do this do that and it's done. Pretty simple if you let it, you had to do the right steps to keep it simple. I told Steve exactly what to do, the precise steps, all I needed was someone who could do what they were told and do the job right, like a professional He did the exact opposite at every juncture, and left me with more things to fix than were fixed in the process. He was completely rude and inconsiderate to me in the process, as well, I have significant health problems that have been worse lately and the whole process put me through considerable stress, as well. Just a nightmare He wrote on my white van wall in black sharpie. I told him exactly the steps to clamp a steel reinforcement bar straight, drill holes, and end up with a straight wall. I now have a crooked wall because he needed to be rebellious and do it a different way that did not work. I have a bracket stuck behind a wall, useless, that i'll have to angle grind an Allen wrench to a specific length just to be able to screw it out, it's so jammed in there from his unnecessary and unprofessional modifications To kick it all off, the side holes to reinforce the wall, the most important part of the job, he didn't even do. I told him to drill those holes and he refused. So he literally didn't even do any aspect of the job. And he charged $350, leaving the wall in the exact state where it had collapsed before and claiming it was fixed, as if I was stupid enough to just buy that, playing on "I'm the contractor I know better and a I can just play with people's heads with that tact" If you need a factory instruction based bracket or TV install or anything else elementary, he could probably to it for ten times the cost than it's worth, and if you got the extra cash to waste, who cares, right? Tried getting a hold of this guy twice in two different occassions, looking at the 5 stars I was stoked before the call. To my surprise, I got 0 call back from this guy not once...twice! This is where I get confused, I guess he gets his 5 stars when he actually does the work but when he doesn't "feel" like it...good luck getting any service. Perhaps he's out of town, perhaps he's got other jobs going but regardless you should always call your customers back or at minimum change your voicemail to tell people that you're not available and then when you'll be available again. read more

Steve is great. Two of my drawer fronts fell off and the company that made them stopped making the connectors years ago and ran out of inventory for parts. So they recommended replacing the whole drawer. Steve was able to find another company's connector that fit and fixed my drawers and he did it quickly, so it was very reasonably priced. He also replaced a bathroom sink fixture for me. He did it so fast that I was barely able to make a cup of coffee before he was done. I will hire him for any and all handyman work I have. read more

I used Steve to hang some TV's on the wall, hang a few ceiling fans and install a wine cooler for me in my new home. After hanging 1 TV on the wall, he left the power cord visibly running down the wall. My wife had to ask him to hide it in the wall. When installing the wine cooler, I told him what height to leave above the wine cooler for a door but he disregarded me and just did what he wanted. Seemed like he just wanted to jam it in there so that he could collect his money and go home. It was not level, not the right height and he refused to work with me to install it correctly. I had to step in to read the directions and measure everything. Then when I asked him to work with me and verify the measurements were correct... he said with a very sarcastic attitude.... "just tell me what you want me to do" and refused to measure anything! I couldn't believe it!! I'm paying this guy to do poor work and he's giving me an attitude? Keep in mind that I'm a very nice and considerate person. I treated Steve with respect and professionalism. I offered to buy him breakfast, feed him lunch and never received a thank you. He really had a negative attitude from the beginning. The only thing Steve had going for him was that he was timely in getting back to me on providing a quote. He wanted to come back the next day to perform some more work but I told him I was not happy with his work and would not be using him going forward. His response was "I'm sorry to hear that". When installing the ceiling fans, he made the decision to not connect them to the light switch on the wall. He advised that we have to use the remote control to work the fan which I was not happy with. In addition, one of the lights doesn't work right and I didn't catch it before he left. It only lights up about 20%. I have another handyman coming back to fix the things that Steve did poorly. I hired Steve based upon his Yelp reviews. I would be cautious when hiring him. read more

Steve is dishonest, plain and simple. I asked him for quote on a few repairs in my home which included an exterior hole patch, 4 faucets installations, tiny shower caulking, and a repaint of 1 bathroom wall, not the whole bathroom just one small wall. I sent pictures, measurements and exact details & he quoted me a price. I ended up eliminating a big exterior job so the quote came down a couple of hundred bucks. When he arrived at my home I asked him again for the price before he started, same quote. He also stated he couldn't put in the faucets I bought so I ran to home depot & bought 4 more. After he finished caulking and painting he charged me the full Price of the job saying it now was going to cost me another $550 for the faucet installations. He didn't even thoroughly finish the paint job & left a railing he was suppose to remove on the painted wall. I guess I misunderstood the fact that he was going to upcharge when he felt like it. His apologies doesn't cover the fact that he lied twice. He took advantage of the fact that I was a women & by myself at the time. Be cautious when dealing with him. read more

Wow, exceeded my expectations! I called Steve, for the first time per all the review on Yelp, and he picked up the phone! Then I am a bit worried that my jobs are too small, or even weird. Ya, I will get to that. So Steve said he can come over the same day and look at the work. And he showed on time and very professional. I needed someone who could look at a few things, and not only just fix them, but asses how to fix them. 1. The bed frame broke. Insert joke here. But it came crashing to the ground and could have killed the cats, so it was no joke. Steve said that the steel bla bla was snapped and he has a guy who soldered unique stuff like this back together. I think he is probably a car enthusiast, like Steve, cus they know what they're doing regarding all things mechanical. Steve tells me, get this, he will get this,done in one day! I am so used to handymen taking weeks, or more likely, not showing back up with the parts, that I actually asked him to repeat what he just said. Then Steve said he doesn't let things pile up, chop chop, gets them done and moves on. 2. Baseboards needed to be pulled up and new ones installed. Again, next day, done! Perfect work. 3. Ok, so I feed this alley cat, long story short... needed a solution for the cat to be able to enter the garage, without allowing any alley people to enter the garage. Steve came up with an ingenious solution, and it works beautifully. Also, Steve came up ways to secure our bikes in the garage, etc. 4. A rather odd sliver of my patio door was missing. Steve looks at it and says termites. He was right. This guy knows his stuff. Any other handyman would have just slapped some putty up. And then I would not have known... Reliable, trustworthy, very technically inclined AND very good at what he does. And for a very fair price! I am calling him again as soon as I get these termites sorted out!
