Just stopped in to check out MTB rentals and was guided by Matt into renting an E bike to ride bootleg Canyon. Matt set the bike up perfectly for me and provided me with everything I needed to set out for a ride in Bootleg Canyon. I rode early morning to avoid the heat of the day and had one of the best MTB experiences I've had yet. The trails were amazing. I even met up with Matt and he showed me around until I used up the whole battery. I never would have been able to see so much without having tried out the e bike. They really know their stuff. I'm just getting into mountain biking and riding the trails at bootleg canyon. They really made me feel comfortable asking any questions and gave me great advise. The gear they have here is top notch. This place is run by riders and they keep it real. I wouldn't buy anything for MTB in Vegas, this is the best spot. Looked like Specialized was there "go to" brand so I rented a Turbo Levo ebike which was fun as hell! These guys are the de facto bike shop of Bootleg Canyon. I've stopped in here several times for parts and repairs small and large. The staff has always been willing to help. It's clear right away that these guys live, breathe, and die all things Mountain Bike, which means that if you aren't part of our tribe they can be somewhat off putting. On the flipside they are also very welcoming if you are interested in joining the tribe. So walk in, rent a bike, and check out all that Bootleg has to offer. This was a great guided mountain biking tour. They pick you up at the hotel early (0600) to avoid the heat. Provide helmets, gloves, water, snacks and really nice full suspension mountain bikes. There are a couple of trail options. We went for the bootleg canyon "basic" ride. It starts out with a slow gradual uphill, that was still difficult. We had plans to go on a bootleg canyon loop, but after several miles it was clear we weren't in the greatest shape (well, 2 out of the 4 of us), so we switched to the Hoover dam ride. We had a lot of fun, hit the teeter-totter and lot's of nice curving up/down trails. Jeff, our guide, was really patient and good. read more

We met Mike Fucci who spent quite awhile with us. He was really knowledgeable and provided us with a map of the area up in Bootleg Canyon. The shop was really well equipped and we purchased wider bars and shorter stems which they installed while we went for a late breakfast at Coffee Cup I highly recommend stopping in to see these guys. I rented a bike from All Mountain Cyclery. What a great experience and AMC made it easy! They outfitted me for the rides we planned to do. The bike was in excellent condition as was the helmet. AMC also answered our questions about trails, difficulty, etc. and made great recommendations. We will definitely use AMC again! I have to say that I was a huge fan of this shop. I spent quite a Bit of money there and felt good about it and sang their praises for the past few months. I am not sure what has happened to them but the people that work in this shop are about the rudest accusatory employees I have ever experienced. We got completely ready for a ride and chose to back out of rental and shuttle day simply because of the way we were spoken to and the attitudes of several of their employees. They are charging top dollar for their services and to be treated like a fool and talked to with attitude just made me not want to give them another dollar of my money. If you want to conform to the holier that thou attitude then they are the shop for you. Also they offer a discount at the register and then another employee had the discount reversed which equaled an extra 50$. Not cool! read more

Renting bikes here and mountain biking bootleg canyon is the most fun you can have on a Vegas trip. I'm an intermediate XC mountain biker. It was hard for me to tell from the youtube videos I found, but the bootleg canyon trails are quite challenging. There are plenty of rock features on the blue square trails that make them a lot of fun (they are not just dirt paths). The black diamond trails are very technical. I'll bet the real downhill trails are insane. My advice: If you or someone in your party hasn't mountain biked much recently, start off on caldera trail for your first lap (skip boy scout and ride down the fire road to either inner or outer caldera). I'm not sure I would take a wife/girlfriend on this trip who was not a mountain biker, and if I did I would DEFINITELY skip boy scout trail and do a caldera trail first, then hopefully girl scout trail if caldera went well. The start of boy scout is moderately technical, it gets easier after 100 meters. It seemed like the start of boy scout was a rude awakening for a few people. After a lap or two a healthy adventurous novice will be ready to tackle most of boy scout. The bikes we got were high quality enduro bikes and were well maintained. The staff was very knowledgeable (hard core mountain bikers) and helpful. Taking the shuttle up was awesome, I would recommend it, but it is optional. We waited 10 minutes for our first shuttle ride then really never waited for the shuttle again, it was always ready to go when we were. But, all of those details aside: Bootleg canyon is awesome and this is a great shop to set you up to ride there. read more

I have lived in Boulder City for almost 12 years now and I have been in the shop many times for small things, always liked the shop and service had always been great. I just my 1st bike from them yesterday, picked it up tonight and all I can say is, What a mistake!!! It was to not buy from them years ago! They gave me an amazing deal on a Specialized Camber Comp with upgraded handlebar and stem, pedals and tubeless setup, I expected to walk in this evening, pay and then ride away, but no! They then spent an hour an a half dialing everything in to my size and weight. Apparently I didn't know what riding a bike was supposed to feel like. It feels really good. These guys have always been good for the small things, but they just earned a customer for life. This is my 1st Yelp review. I created an account just to write this review. This place takes total advantage of tourists. My dad and I rented mountain bikes here after reading about the trail to the Hoover Dam from Boulder City in a Rails to Trails magazine. This business was 'recommended' by the magazine. When we rented our bikes, my front tire was flat (they didn't bother to check them). They didn't provide us with a map of the area (which would have been helpful since the trail doesn't start at the bike shop. The rates also take advantage of tourists. The only way to avoid having to pay the full day rate would be to immediately turn around at the dam and ride back because the trail is a significant downhill from Boulder City to the dam. If you have two vehicles available, i recommend parking one at the dam so you can bring yourselves and the bikes back since that will cost you an additional charge. All in all, they know that 1. you're not going to want to ride back and charge a fee for pick up, and 2. that if you take a tour you'll have to pay for the full day because it'll take long enough that your 3 hours will be eaten up read more

I came in with a problem with my hub on my rear wheel. The tech I spoke with understood the problem, but the only solution offered was to drive to the Henderson REI. He said that REI might be able to clean the hub with an ultrasonic washing system. I give them two stars because they did not fix my problem. They did look for a replacement hub, but did not have one. Basically, there were three techs there. One was actually performing work, and one was watching, and one was being trained. Overall, the customer service was that of a "hobbyist", and not a pro shop like Zion Cycles in Springdale (ask for Fred), or Pine Mountain Sports in Bend, OR - total pros - with prices posted at the service desk. I really can't say it was an overly negative experience, but the only solution was to send me to a different bike shop to get my problem fixed. So, I cannot give them three stars which Yelp describes as A-OK. read more

Good attention to customer and great location if you're riding Bootleg Canyon. Unfortunately the bike I rented had a problem with the rear der and I always had ghost shifts and could never put the chain on the granny. Also the CB pedals were in bad condition, my left foot slipped out several times. I understand MTB bikes for rental are used and abused, but for the price I pay the very least I expect is a 100% functional bike, not a "sorry" or a "better bring your own pedals". They need to improve their rental bikes. No excuses. read more

Buyer beware! They love charge you for ridiculous things like "paint damage" on a downhill bike. Read the contracts carefully.

1st time in the shop and I already know it's my new bike shop (just moved in from Denver). Welcomed on arrival and saw the shop team already hustling on several bike repairs in the back of the shop. Curt checked me in making me feel welcome and wanting to help me with my repair. Relatively minor repair, spoke replaced and flat repaired in a couple hours .. doesn't seem like much but The Bike shop in Vegas took a week with a similar repair just 2 weeks ago. Jimmy called when the repair was complete. He gave me some insight on what my problem was when I picked up the wheel which was very helpful for what I want to do going forward. I picked up the repaired wheel just minutes before closing and they were just as welcoming. Again discussing the problem and options going forward .. Curt and Jimmy were great with customer service and after I picked up the wheel they invited me to do the full moon ride on the River Loop trail later this month which made me feel like more than than a customer .. I've been in retail over 35 yrs and this is what we strive for but seldom achieve .. looking forward to the full moon ride .. thanks for great service!! read more

I can't deduct any stars in the rating because it was perfect! From the reservation to pick-up, the ride in Bootleg and return to the shop for some SWAG, it was a great experience. I travel a lot and finding "good" bike shops that are near "good" trails is not an easy task. After reviewing the map and beginning my initial assent at the park, I quickly discovered the climb was pretty intense (going UP the Downhill). About that time, the manager form the bike shop had jumped in his truck, drove up the service road, got my attention and redirected me to the XC trail around the base of the mountain. Wow, not many bike shops will do that! The cycle was in perfect shape, Specialized Stump Jumper 29r, and the trails are amazing. Excellent service. Our son was racing at Bootleg Canyon and was already in town with another family. During practice he was blowing through a ton of tubes and wanted to go tubeless. My husband and i drove in on the night before the race and got to the store 15 minutes before they closed. They offered to stay open for us so we could collect our son and his wheels and they would hook him up. They gave him some great advice on the type of tires he should consider and then put them on for him. He also needed some new gloves and they had the Troy Lee XL size he wears. I wanted some shoes and they helped me out there too. Jimmy and Travis (? sorry, can't remember his name but remember it started with a T) were the ones who helped us. In less than 5 minutes, we discovered this shop back in town. Though there were lots of customers, one of the younger techs hooked us up right away. ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE AND PEOPLE. I can not stand when people think they are better than you and belittle others. I don't know the guys name, but he was in his 30's with long brown hair to his shoulders about 5'10" and 170 lbs. He was completely rude and said some really uncalled for things. I DON'T CARE IF THIS IS THE LAST BIKE STORE IN LAS VEGAS, I WILL NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER GIVE THEM ONE SINGLE PENNY. When I brought my bike in, he completely insulted me and my bike. Told me it was worthless and I'd be stupid to keep riding it. This was my first DH bike, and I will never get rid of it (it's not my only bike, it's just meaningful so I keep it). Then to add insult to ignorance, he wouldn't even sell me what I wanted to buy! I thought I should just try to reason with him so I could get back to my day and go ride some trails. So as I'm having a conversation with him, right in the middle of me speaking, he said, "Did you notice how I just stopped listening to you a second ago?" At this point, I couldn't think of one word to say to him that wasn't completely rude and in the heat of the moment. I decided to wait a few days to write this review to make sure I wasn't venting my emotions and just stating the facts because trust me, there were a lot of negative emotions and feelings I wanted to share with him. But, that's below me. However, others do need to be aware of him. It's really too bad that this happened because now I have to go out of my way when I want products and service. And I'm in the market for a new DH bike. Looking to spend about $5k. In fact, I told him, If he would sell me what I wanted I would come back and buy a bike from them. He obviously didn't have the stores best interest in mind when speaking with me. People like him don't deserve anything if they treat people like that. It's sad that this store has an employee like that because they could be the best store around??? But I will never put forth the effort to find out. I will never do any tours, service or ANYTHING that has to do with them because of that one immature, ignorant, snobby kid. read more
