In my case, I had 3 bikes that were in a moving truck when the truck got into an accident causing a lot of damage. I wasn't sure the extent of the damage and didn't want to ride the bikes before getting a go-ahead from a professional. Velofix did a very thorough evaluation of each bike, performed necessary tune-ups on each, and replaced parts that were damaged. When I went online, the computer screen showed a quote of $169. After completing the assembly, before he drove off, I was told the price for the assembly went up to $189. He emailed me a receipt for $189. When I checked my credit card account, I was charged $225.08. To be honest, there was a charge for a tip of $29.36. The deceptive part of the charge was that I was charged $195.72 for a custom item. I was never told that my Viribus Folding Tricycle was going to be a custom assembly. I had described my tricycle on the phone when I initially spoke to him and he did not indicate that it would be any thing out of the ordinary assembly. I have been looking for many months for an ebike. I should have gotten one before Covid-19 but who knew? I eventually bought from a company is Southern California--a company where a friend of mine bought his. The problem comes into assembling the bike once you get it. I'm very good at removing and replacing jar lids, but I wanted the ebike assembled correctly. That meant that I had to go to the experts. After checking Yelp, I saw Velofix and all the positive reviews--all of them very deserving. I scheduled a time online. Yesterday, Tracy called as he was on his way. When he arrived, he put the box with the bike in his "office" which is thee interior of his high topped, large van. After chatting for a bit, I went in the house and he went to work. About an hour later, I returned and he was doing the finishing touches. He walked the bike to the garage and he showed me the controls and then he took the bike for its maiden ride to make sure everything checked out. It did. Today, I did a four mile ride and I quickly learned using an ebike. Since the gym has been closed for so long, I didn't push it more. I didn't want to walk like Herman Munster tonight. As for our Covid-19 world, this process can be contact less. We were near each other, with masks, while he showed me the operation. Other than that, we were socially distant and payment is by the Square app with the small box you insert your credit card. I am so glad I read the reviews and went with Velofix. Hands down, great service! I dealt with Tracy on the phone and he was professional and helpful. Cody was the service rep who showed up to repair my 2 flat tires on my e-bike. Cody was professional and very helpful with his experience. Yeah, it's a little bit more expensive having a mobile bike shop show up wherever you need them to show up, but the alternative is the hassle of handling your bike (my e-bike is almost as awkward as my dirtbike to load on a truck) and waiting a week to get your bike back. I had them do a 1000 mile tune up on my 700cc fitness 18 speed fitness bike, including fixing a flat on the back tire. The bike runs great. I was told that my S-Works Tarmac SL4 would have to wait 2-3 weeks to be taken care of at one bike shop, 4 weeks at another. A 3rd bike shop said they'd contact me the following week... and that came and went without a phone call or a text. So, I searched online and came across VeloFix, which I had heard of before (perhaps in an online magazine). First time customer of Velofix. Super easy and convenient to set up online. Tracy called me (though I was busy and didn't answer) an hour before the appointment that he could make it early. He also texted me. He came to the door with an appropriate mask on. We went to the garage and got my bike. Turns out I had given him the wrong information about my bike. It was an easier fix for him, took less time than anticipated, and he actually charged me less than I anticipated for the work he did. Seems like a win all the way around. He built a RedLine Proline for my kid. His van is awesome. Loaded tall cargo van full of every Park tool. Guy is as good as it gets. Knew all about the coasting new chains ship with, cleaned it per my request and lubed it. cut down the brake cable, straighten up the rims. And that was all before he started to assemble it. Just used these guys for the first time to do a maintenance on my commuter/hybrid bike. I had not been maintaining it as well as I should and all the controls were getting sloppy and out of adjustment. Overall a great experience. The service seemed expensive to me, until I called around and found what was quoted is about the middle to low end of what is standard around shops in Vegas. Considering they come to you it was a no brainer. Worked on my bike for over an hour, did and explained a lot and even briefly looked at and drove around on my wife's bike and told me there was no need to have hers serviced for now. I couldn't recommend VeloFix enough. I used their web site to schedule the appointment and Tracy was there with time to spare. I'd booked the highest level tune-up, but Tracy gave the bike a quick check and said that The bike didn't need that and that a less expensive tune-up would do the trick. After a couple of hours he was done and the bike looked great. I took a quick ride up and down the street and everything seemed good. However, on my ride the next day the shifting wasn't quite right. Tracy and I spoke on the phone that night and he gave me some good things to check. Rode again the next day but the shifting still was off. Tracy came back to my house at the next mutually convenient time and worked on the bike. The next ride was awesome and shifting was super-smooth - as was everything else on the bike.
