Muhammad's response appears to indicate that the companies that gave me price quotes were somehow inferior. Precision has been in business 18 years, and the company I went with has been in business longer. Precision's price quote was much higher than the competition and was for a Cadillac or Volvo sedan, not the beautiful new black SUV that picked up my girlfriend. Lastly, the professional chauffer that was our driver, was impeccably dressed in a black suit and tie. Our driver had over 30 years experience as a licensed, professional chauffer. They have a share-a-ride van system where you call to reserve, they pick you up then drive you all over creation at ungodly times of the morning to pick up the rest of the cattle that are heading to the airport. In principle it sounds like a good practice but for the amount of $$ it is actually a better deal to grab a town-car and travel alone or with your family rather than sharing. The other problem is that you have to call them from the airport once you land - they have vans constantly moving around but if you just missed one, you are going to be waiting like 20-30 minutes to get another - this doesn't happen with a reserved car. They are waiting there for you. They also receive my wrath for having some drivers who have no idea where things are or who won't change highways when traffic has you sitting there - grrrrrr. Classic also offers black cars and full blown limos but their strength is if you stay on Long Island- you can better deals from NYC based car services if you are planning a night in Manhattan. Good in a pinch I suppose.

Now the only way I can get something reliable is with Ronkonkoma Taxi and Airport Service. They aren't the fastest but they are the most reliable taxi company in the Ronkonkoma area. The fares are never the cheapest either but again, its reliable. If I'm in a pinch I'll call them because at least I know what I'm getting. Their airport shuttles on the other hand are spectacular. If I order a cab for 3am to get me to JFK Airport, it's Johnny on the spot and he's there 15 minutes early for my ride.
