Chad came by a few years ago for duct cleaning, and I had a good experience. Recently, I called him to schedule an appointment for dryer vent cleaning. He showed up and told me that he would be back the following day because they did not have a long ladder to reach the roof. Chad was supposed to return the next day but didn't show up. I contacted him, but there was no response. I wish he had informed me ahead of time, so I could have reached out to other companies for an appointment. It was a waste of time. I spoke to Chad and scheduled my dryer vent clean out (we have lint making its way outside the house so this was high on my list of priorities). We scheduled an appointment between 1-3 on the 29th of March and he asked that I also text him my address and appointment time confirmation so he could add it to his schedule (which I did). I'm sure they do a good job based on reviews, but unfortunately, I did not get that far to see that. They were an hour late and I had to reach out to them and could not get ahold of anyone (there was also no appt confirmation the day before so I guess I should have called and done that myself?). When they finally reached out to me that they were on their way and got stuck on a job (at least send the customer an update), I let them know I no longer needed their services. They did apologize and got mt address to send a gift card. I never received the gift card. Not happy with the whole experience. read more

After calling Chad to remind him of our appointment, and rescheduling, he did a decent job cleaning the vents. He discovered that out dryer was not venting outside the house, just into the installation in the crawl space, and pointed out how that was not only not to code but dangerous. We agreed to have him do the installation, he gave us a quote, and scheduled the installation. When he did not show on the appointed date, I called him and he said he had a contractor he needed to get some things done, one of his best customers, He would call me back when he could reschedule. Since he never called back, it became apparent that I was not a preferred customer, plus I was tired of calling him, I contacted another provider. So, let me begin by saying I have high, perhaps even nigh-impossible expectations from a duct cleaning company. Rescuing maidens & slaying dragons before my coffee cools is not out of the realm of possibility. Why? Glad you asked... Exhibit A) I worked for a shady pest control company that dabbled in duct cleaning. What they did was so unethical & ineffective I had to stop working there. I know for a fact they bilked over $100k a year that would have been better set afire & danced around for all the good it did. Exhibit B) Duct cleaning, even badly, is hard work. Hard. Plus it's super tough to maneuver around a spotless house pulling gobs of dust & hair out of the returns without a disaster. I will gladly catch rats under houses all day with my teeth before I ever touch a furnace again. Exhibit C) Duct work, like carpet cleaning, is an industry where you thing you sign up for $75, & come away spending $750 with "Oh, you have a bazillion other problems we need to fix" upsales. My wife has critical asthma & allergies to all the fuzzy-wuzzies. Our new house, while seemingly spotless, had "Please save our Sheep Dogs" stickers...faster than you can say "Epi-Pen", we had to have those ducts spotless. Nary a hair could remain. So Chad, who I'd met once before at a trade show, got the call. I was expecting, even demanding, shiny armor. What I got was...Chad. Chad gave me a quote up front, & never once tried to raise it. Chad's process makes the janky method I quit my previous job over look like throwing rocks at an Abrams Tank. Everything inside was spotless. The vacuum left behind contained every last residue of doggy in the ducts. The wife could breathe free & clear...if there was a dragon down there, he must have got it. They arrived on time, showed us exactly what they were going to do & equipment they'd use, answered all our questions and took into consideration all we had to say and completed the job (11 ceiling vents) in only 2 1/2 hrs. Do not trust this company. They will stab you in back and try to steal your clients. I asked these guys to visit a site and quote for a job and they try to cut me out the loop and steal my client. Unfortunately for them the client is a very good Mate of mine and a very close friend. When I called up these I noticed there attitude towards me on the phone was not polite. But I needed the quotation as this quote was an urgent job. I felt maybe these guys are racist. Which is very common in the construction industry. I felt like the person I was speaking to was racist. Not something I've ever felt over the phone. But I gave them contact details for the site. Racism is something I've had to deal with a lot in the construction industry when I started out as a labourer. The site manager referred to me as the coloured guy. I needed the money so I never said nothing back. Now I run my own company and am very successful with quite a few large commercial clients. I shouldn't have to deal with this shit no more. My thoughts are these guys are not used to receiving a phone call from a company director who's Black. So they probably thought little of me because of the sound of my voice. After feeling disrespected and unwelcomed I cancelled the site visit and told them not to contact the client and that I was going to use another contractor for the work. These guys went behind my back and still contacted my client/Mate. Unfortunately for them. There's the internet to leave review on companies like this. Racism must stop.
