I am updating my review because the service was good but the billing and their financial department sucked and every time I called to try to resolve they wouldn't call me back and were unavailable. Backstory: When I booked them and they came out to our home, they did a credit check for financing. Despite my high credit score the Service Financial co they used had a pretty high interest rate. I IMMEDIATELY told the guy, I do NOT want this credit. I will get my own and just pay you. Which we did. Fast forward to over a month later they came out and did the work and the guys were great as my previous review stated. My husband signed for the work when I wasn't home and assumed it was signing off on the work and not some financial agreement. So I am waiting on the bill and I get a call from their finance company. To which I very clearly tell them NO I do NOT want your financing I will pay them in full. I call Sky and speak to the office and they tell me to just tell the finance company to send it back to them because they cannot cancel it on their end. The finance company tells me that in order to cancel it Sky needs to cancel it because the company already sent them a partial payment and they would need to return that. The salesmen at Sky calls me and swears there is no prepayment penalty and I can just pay the finance company in full with no additional charges. I tell him that I do NOT want to pay a 2nd party because they do not just finance for free. He swears that its too late now and this is the only way, but it will cost exactly the same if I just pay them off. Flash forward to my first bill with this company where I pay it off, but due to the finance charges it costs me and extra $400 for the privilage of being sent over to to them, despite me telling Sky from the very first meeting that I will pay for the system in full. I called to speak to the office person but they won't call me back and I highly doubt they will give me back the $400 extra that I had to pay. I don't know about anyone else but I don't enjoy having to fork out $400 for being lied to and given the run around when it was their mistake after I clearly told them I do not want financing. read more

Worst experience ever. Terrible customer service, treated like im the problem. We received a brand new ac unit broken and it took dozens of calls from May to August 19th to get a new lemon. Thats right the second NEW ac unit also a lemon. Canceled appts by them when we take of work to be here and told sorry the labor wont be covered for your 3rd ac unit. Ya im gonna pay for you to put in another lemon and then fight to get it made right. Steer clear of Sky Heating and Cooling, they are horrible and could care less that they are selling you crap and then profiting. To too it off the new furnace is now not heating. Had appointment scheduled today between 8am and 10am. No show! The technician did not call or show up. I received a text stating the technician was ill. I called back and was transfered twice to two departments to try and reschedule and decided to cancel appointment quotes after trying to get one for later. I spoke with the office manager and tried to explain my frustration and was really not able to speak...she spoke over me and didn't really want to listen. She basically said I canceled the appointment that the technician was out sick for. For a local company not very customer service oriented. She did say I could reschedule, but I already contacted other contractors for today and tomorrow. read more

I called and asked for a plumber. Was told someone would come that day but unfortunately there schedule was busy. So next day and a plumber came and diagnostic fee was canceled. So when plumber arrived apparently nothing was wrong with my toilet bits zip tie soon charge. So I asked about downstairs toilet. He came down and inspected and said he would repair for $550.00. Well I absolutely said no. I could purchase a new toilet for that price. My nephew came over, the replacement part was $18.00 and it took him 10 minutes. I can relate to the most recent review. I Scheduled an appt through their online site. Ryan was able to come by and diagnose why our old AC furnace was leaking. After some trouble shoot and pictures taken, he gave us options to fix the problem. He's honest and professional, typed up a report and sent it to me right there and then before taking off. Due to limited maintenance appointments, I had to wait over a month for a scheduled tuneup for 2 furnaces and air conditioners at my duplex in Portland. That's fine, but I live at the coast, so I drove 2 hours to be here to meet the tech on the scheduled day only to be notified after I arrived that they needed to reschedule due to other service calls. This after receiving prior reminders from Sky of my appointment by both email and text. I would classify this treatment as horrendous customer service. I was going to have Sky install a new heat pump furnace and A/C at another property I own, but will now find another company with more integrity. read more

We have lived in our home for 12+ years and always had a fall furnace checkup. We felt things were OK until one Friday night at the end of December, the furnace would not start, even though the thermostat said "heat on". We called out normal company and was told the next Friday (a week from today) was the ealiest they could check us out. Not good for almost 80 yo couples! Checked around and found Sky Heating & Air Conditioning. They have emergency/weekend coverage which we scheduled. Torsen Humphrey came out the next day (Sat) at 7:30 AM and by 8AM, had the furnace running! The issue was due to restricted flame sensor, which Torsen felt should have been caught during the fall inspection.. He had a complete report on our furnace, complete with pictures and documentation (complete with grades A-F) on all components of the furnace. He provided five estimates on what could be done next, from simply replacing the flame sensor(which he had cleaned) to a complete overhaul of the furnace. Best report ever! And the charge was very reasonable. Highly recommend!! read more

After getting an invoice containing no price breakdown for the repair completed I requested an invoice detailing the price of parts, hours worked and the hourly rate charged. Sky then replied they "didn't do that". Apparently what they do, according to their technician, is charge $289.00 to perform an annual maintenance check on each component of a mini-split system. In other words my typical system consisting of an exterior unit and three interior units would cost about $1200.00 for an annual maintenance check. Elsewhere you can find this same service for around $200. Save yourself some money, and arrogant attitudes, and go elsewhere. read more

problem wasnt fixed! technician fixed the symptom (dirty drain line) not the cause (dirty head unit) charge me close to $500. then offer to make that one of my maintenance visits? he did a partial maintenance visit at best. but charge me for full one? whats wrong with you? coils were not cleaned, head unit was not cleaned, didnt even check to see if the unit ran before he left! ill give you a hint, its running very poorly cause its filthy! probably do to your maintenance visits lack of maintenance. I took a day off on the day of the appointment to wait for their technician. Later that day, they called and said they "don't have the capacity" to come to my house. I used Sky Heating, AC & Plumbing. I was hesitant because they offer a fixed bid, not based on a specific rate, but I decided to use them based on recommendations in a FB group. The technician was on-time, actually 5 minutes early. My tenant was home, lights were on but he did not knock on the door. He could not see the leak despite the fact that I removed the drywall, so I had to point it out, even my tenant could see the leak. He did not have a stepstool, so we borrowed my tenants. His quote to fix was almost $700. I asked him how long it would take to fix, he said 1.5 hours., which is $466/hour, which is egregious and I would not agree. We finally agreed on $560 and he would fix the leak in the kitchen sink next door as well. He left after 1 hr 45 mins total, 1.5 hrs actually working. He stepped on a brass fitting twice coming down the stepstool, almost tripping right next to an open bottle of compound, which would have spilled all over the floor. He left his tape measure in the truck, got it and came back. He left his towel in the truck, got it and came back., which I think he did intentionally to stretch the time of the job out because he asked me if I was going to stay and I said of course. He spent not even 5 mins tightening the connection to the kitchen sink next door, not even replacing the gasket. I paid $320/hour for this repair and sadly will NEVER use Sky Heating, AC and Plumbing again. Next time, I will use someone who charges on an hourly basis, which is a fair and reasonable rate. That said, the work quality of the repair looked fine. **Update** Sky Heating, AC & Plumbing ended up giving me a $320 credit, which I greatly appreciate. read more

We had to get a new Hvac system. From the repair guy, salesman (Randy) to the installation crew (6) we were treated with respect, honesty and integrity. We were provided different options to choose from, was never pressured to pick the most expensive. We opted to go with this new system that will provided unlimited hot water and level the heat in our home. I can fill our soaking tub and never run out of hot water! It is amazing, I am already in love with it. The crew was outstanding. Very efficient, knowledgeable, personable and funny! Of course in these days Safe. They all wore a mask, nice ones with the company logo on them. Shout out to Enrique, Earl, Paul, Joel, Mario and Anthony. 5 stars to each and everyone of them. Plus they liked my dog Bruin. Very disappointed in Sky Heating. Our air conditioner went out called them for service after seeing their ad on TV. I was informed it would be a $109.00 service call and if we had it repaired that would go towards the bill. They replaced the condensor a $20.00 part on Amazon. Same identically part. My husband and I could have put this part in. In the long run the tech was here less than an hour. We were charged $528.00. I asked are there any senior or military discounts. The tech wasn't sure but asked his boss. In the end we received a 10% discount. I ended up sharing this information with both of our kids. Both very irate. Both also work with the public and are spreading the word. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am also letting all of our senior friends know of this company. One more thing when we received the bill it shows a flat rate the bill is not itemized showing the $20.00 part. I was told they don't not do that.
