Bradford serviced my failed Trane electromagnetic air cleaner. My service company could not purchase the needed part as he was not a Trane dealer. We agreed I should call a Trane dealer and it turned out that the metal needles that electrostatically destroy the particulates were rusty indicating that the frame had probably been washed. Bradford used an abrasive cloth and patiently removed each pin of it's rust. I was most pleased at the service and the offer to pay a monthly fee to have my 20 year old system serviced with those fees going toward a new system when this one dies. He also did not charge me the service fee upon signing the contract. It average out a little more than I was paying. read more

I was hoping to resolve issues before it came to this, but after trying this company many times in multiple ways without response- I'm left no other choice. How they have such a high rating on here is a mystery to me! My AC stopped blowing cold at the worst of summer, so I was delighted when I called Comfort Air & they were able to come the next day! Quoted 119$ diagnostic fee. The tech came and checked everything, found nothing wrong -because I had fixed the problem myself the day before (clogged condensate line) & he stressed the importance of regular maintenance. At the end of the visit, he presented a bill to us for 119$ as expected, but told us about their maintenance program "Comfort Club" (silver). I RARELY make decisions like this on the spot without researching first, but he made it sound like it would be cheaper if we signed up during our call instead of later, so we did. 179$ for membership and 89$ startup fee. Today's diagnostic drops to 59$ as a perk of enrolling. I foolishly paid CASH. An hour later, I browsed their website to find that it was in fact no cheaper to sign up now vs later, there's zero mention anywhere to found about this "startup fee", and diagnostic is supposed to be 49$ - i was charged 59$. Then I discovered their "specials" page, where you can get $40 off diagnostic, making it only $20 more than a non member. Then there's a $99 one time maintenance coupon!!! That means that I just paid$268 for what could've only cost me $200, what a deal! Sure pays to join this sham of a club! Had the tech not put me on the spot & given me misinformation, I'd have had a chance to learn these things! In light of all this, I requested to cancel my enrollment within the hour & only pay the diagnostic.. that was over a week ago now & not a word back, so I guess they're keeping my money - stealing it! I will go out of my way to make sure no one else falls into their trap if I can help it! Learn from my mistake and STAY AWAY! read more

Just had them out for the second time for my semi-annual service. The tech was Bradford and he was very friendly and professional. It was easy to make the appointment with them and they showed up on time - which is a huge deal to me if they want to continue to retain my business. I knew in advance what the charges would be because it was routine maintenance and when I went to pay, it was exactly the correct amount. For me personally, when it comes to dealing with companies, I make a decision whether to continue spending money with them based on the quality of their service as well as the costs. With Comfort Air, they seem to have really good service with reasonable costs so I'll continue to use them. read more

Yesterday was the second time I have had Comfort Air out to my house! Daniel has always been the one to come to my house and he is always professional and knowledgeable. In July, they had to come fix the compressor/capacitor (can't remember which one) on my AC unit. They also informed me of a couple of electrical issues that are not up to code. So in case I ever sell my house I will have to get that fixed as well. He said that if he had to the tools to do it for me, he would have. Yesterday I had them come out because I attempted to install a new thermostat myself and my heat still wasn't working. I couldn't go another sleepless night in the cold so I called them to fix it. Daniel figured out that the Lyric I bought was in fact the culprit and it was likely faulty because the thermostat wasn't talking to the furnace. He replaced it with a Trane thermostat that he said he had himself in his house and I was on my way to having heat in no time. It was great because I had been so cold. He gave me a pretty good deal on the Trane thermostat and told me to call him with any questions since he can help me with it since he has one. Its touchscreen and wifi capable so boy is it nice to change your temp when upstairs in bed. Thank you Comfort Air and Daniel. You guys are the best. I will continue to come to you for any heating or cooling needs I have as you give it o me straight and don't try to nickel and dime me. Great service! Lacey in the office and their technician Daniel were both awesome and now my furnace is ready for the winter and my pets are enjoying being toasty in front of the fireplace. I highly recommend giving them a call. UPDATE: I just had to call Comfort Air again when I lost heat at the worst possible time. They are great! They rearranged their schedule to get me in quickly so I didn't suffer without heat for days. Bradford, the technician, was very prompt and immediately fired up my furnace and got it going again. He made my day!! My good friend's furnace also went out over the weekend too. After I had such a great experience getting scheduled I told her to give Amanda at Comfort Air a call. Just bought a second home with HVAC and called Comfort Air to ask for a quote on what it would cost for an initial servicing of our system. Their answering message stated that they were unable to answer the phone because they were vusy, and to leave my name and contact information and they'd return my call a.s.a.p. That was over two weeks ago and still no return call. This is a great example of losing business before even having a chance to earn it. I was extremely happy with my experience working with Comfort Air. With the heat we've been experiencing, I was worried that my A/C wasn't working at full capacity. I messaged a few different companies and most were unable to fit me in during this peak season. Comfort Air emailed me back quickly and were able to work me in on very short notice. The tech I worked with, Ben, was on time, professional, and thorough. He explained everything to me as he worked and made sure that all my questions were answered. They got me in right away in a heat wave, and then I ended up having a chemical sensitivity to the coil cleaner they used during maintenance, but they went WAY above and beyond to remedy the situation: they did research on how to get rid of it by calling the cleaner manufacturer, they came out multiple times, and they bought a new machine just for my situation that was specifically designed to remove the substance from the coils. They never once expressed doubt or frustration that the chemical was still present and harmful for me, even though they couldn't smell it anymore. I felt heard and exceptionally well cared for. If you have MCS, this is the company for you. They stood by their work in a very, very real way and were responsive, kind, patient, and fair. I will be a Comfort Air customer for life. read more

Just finished having Comfort Air replace our furnace & AC before we sell our house. We asked for multiple options ("good/better/best") and ended up adjusting the quote a few times to get the right system. We needed to run a new electrical line to the main panel and fit the furnace in a rather cramped space, but their team was up to the challenge and they completed the install in one day. Other than a few minor issues on the install day that were taken care of very quickly, we had a good experience using Comfort Air. I would recommend Johnny and the team to others. read more

On Friday, December 11th a Comfort Air technician arrived at my home to exam my Trane split system heat pump which was operating on emergency heat due to apparent problems with its compressor which was not running. Upon arrival the technician indicated he would charge a $119 diagnostic fee which I authorized with the assumption I would be given an explanation for the compressor's shut down and recommendations for its repair. After approximately 30 minutes of investigation the technician announced the system's compressor had seized up, noting that when it was energized it "drew 90 amps of power." He further reported that the failed compressor would have probably contaminated the system's Freon refrigerant and that the entire split system heat pump (outdoor heat pump and indoor air handler) would need to be replaced at a cost of approximately $5,400. Before leaving the technician indicated he would have his diagnostic report written up and a repair estimate prepared on the following Monday, December 14th. Having not received either a report or repair estimate by Tuesday, December 15th, I called Comfort Air and was told by their telephone receptionist she had the report and repair estimate and would email them to me promptly. I have never received either a report or estimate even after subsequently forwarding them an e-mail request for the same. On Friday, December 17th, two technicians from a reputable HVAC company came to my house in response to my service call request. Within 15 minutes they correctly diagnosed the issue with my compressor as being due to a failed motor capacitor and the questionable condition of its starting relay, both of which they promptly replaced after first obtaining the required parts from a local Trane parts distributor. I was charged less then $350 for their combined diagnostics time including repair parts and repair labor. I regard Comfort Air's misdiagnosis and subsequent attempt to up-sell all new replacement equipment in lieu of rendering intelligent repairs to a perfectly serviceable split system heat pump as contemptible. I regret paying their $119 "diagnostic" fee from which I received virtually no benefit. I will be forwarding a copy of this review to Trane and the Better Business Bureau. read more

My 25-year old AC (Trane) decided to quit on the hottest day of the year 98F. Calles several local companies and all of them have long waiting time, except Comfort Air can send someone (Dmitriy) out for the estimate in 2 days. A few days later John (technician) came to install the AC unit and the evap coil (Trane). John did excellent installation job. The installation looks neat and beautiful. Everyone from office and sales to installation are very nice and pleasant to work with. read more
