I came in on Monday around 11 am. No appointments are needed. They share a building and parking lot with a mechanic shop, but they still had parking spaces available. I got a smog last Tuesday, there were several cars ahead of me, but the smog guy was going as fast as possible, so my wait was 90 minutes, it would of been quicker except there was a old truck that I think failed and was taking a while. I had a coupon for $39 but they charged me $49. I have a Kia Soul and never consider that a SUV It is still reasonable and just wanted to head out. Very friendly customer service. I had brain surgery about little more than a year ago , and I still have issues with my words and get all twisted. The gal was super nice, and after I explained, I had battery issues, and it's a new battery now, and the computer needed time to recalibrate or whatever. Service was on point. The guy took it back after she checked it to see if the computer was good, and was done in like 20 mins. Was super fast. And the value can't be beat. Walked in with no appointment a bit after 5 for a smog check. They were not very busy, so they started the smog check right away. The lobby was clean, and we saw down while we waited for the test to be completed. The test took about 10 minutes, and we were on our way. I knew they took walk-ins, but I called anyway. The employee answered the phone curtly, "Hello?" "Hello? I'd like to make an appointment for a smog check please?" I said. Okay, some constructive criticism/advice, when you're at work and you answer the phone, it is considered customary and professional to answer with the name of the business and your name, at least. A "how can I help you" can be added for an extra touch of customer service. "It's just walk-in" they answered. "Ok, thank you" I replied. Shortly thereafter, I headed down there. I parked in the lot and went inside. On the way inside, I passed a possible employee standing out front smoking a cigarette. Inside, I waited a few minutes at the counter despite no one else waiting. At last, the smoker came back to the counter and proceeded to act like she was being paid to do. She wasn't rude, but not especially warm, and I waited about 20 minutes and was called back to the counter to pay. $60. I said, I have a coupon, can I use it now please? No, it's too late, she said. Of course it is, I thought. I paid full price despite having a coupon. More constructive advice, if you advertise on your website and offer a coupon, you should at least ask, prior to it being "too late", do you have a coupon or other discount? It felt pretty dirty that they made such a big deal of it on the web, and then didn't mention the option of using a coupon, and refused to honor it when I had clearly asked when presented the total. This place has a lot of room for improvement in the customer service department. Hopefully this review will make way for some improvements, because this place is close, and didn't take that long. read more
