first of all if your car fails smog check you will still have to pay $65 which I am ok, I can get my car fixed and come back but you will again have to pay $25 for re-test each time you do re-test, also the timing says they open at 9:15 and here I am sitting in car from morning 9:10-9:55 and still no sign of shop owner and its still closed, I called them at 9:22 they said they will be there in 20mins, still no one is here, they finally showed up at 9:52,l and checked others before me although I cam here first, when I asked why he said I am not sure your car will pass or not, after attending other customer he plugged in small code reader and said your car is not ready drive for 20 miles and come back again, you know what I am never coming back to this business, save yourself time and money and go to other reputed business! Took our Rv for a smog test. Passed with no problem. Took less time than a regular car. When I went to pay, the lady says "how you pay, you have cash ?". I said no I have a card." Then she said, "How about Zelle, you pay with Zelle?" I said, "How much is it anyway?" She replied 250.00. I asked why so much and was told it is more work to test an RV. That is a lie. Also that another customer might drive up and see the RV and leave, costing them business. Hypothetical BS. They are just ripping people off. All Pro Smog only charges 125.00 for an RV. Found that out too late. Before the owner replies to this, I don't give a rip how much your house cost 20 years ago or how much gas was back then. You are overcharging your customers. This place tried to charge me double for a smog. I called to see how much it was to smog my RV. He didn't want to tell me over the phone. Then when I got there, I started filling out paperwork. They tried to charge me double. $250 to be exact . I gave the lady back her paper and told her no thanks then when I got down the road, the guy tried to call me back and tell me ok $150 He said he was busy on the phone. Didn't know why I left. I told him he was charging way too much. Then he tried to go down $120 . I called around and no one was charging close to what he said. The Attendant wrote me out a quote of $241 .I ask her why it was that high as most smog tests are under $100 .she said That's just an estimate .She then verbally told me The price would be $89 ,same as a large pickup .After the smog check she said I owed her $241 plus $8.25 certificate + $2.00 Credit Card fee. I complained to the owner and he said he would discount my next visit for the confusion. He explained that because they don't do any repairs and is a test only station they had to charge more. That doesn't make any since.I didn't need repairs I needed a smog check ...Had I dreamed there price would be 3 times the normal cost I would have left and gone to another smog test station. Poor customer service. Lady was sleeping when I arrived. Didn't know how to drive a stick. Instead of asking me she stalled my car. My car failed, she charged me 65.00 and then said I had 30 days to come back for a retest and would be charged an additional 25.00!! California State law states "each smog test you purchase includes a free 90-day retest of vehicle emissions to offer you a second opportunity to pass the required vehicle smog check.' My boyfriend and I took his 1988 mustang to get a smog. We've had a ton of issues getting smogs with this car, because it's older and a lot of mechanics don't like to work on it. The lady there was super nice as soon as we showed up. Her husband showed up a little later and did basically all the work. The car didn't pass and they did charge us, cuz that's what smog places are supposed to do LOL. The man was so informative about exactly what we had to fix. He explained everything to my boyfriend and answered all of our questions. So helpful! Told us to come back after we fix it for a retest which would be about 20-30 I forgot exactly, but cheap! I previously had a good experience here so I decided to go in again a few weeks ago. My smog didn't pass, so the guy told me to drive my car some more and go back and I'd have to pay the remaining $10 when it passed (the total was $60, I paid him $50 upfront.) I went back today, and HE IS GONE. I had actually gone back last week but noticed they were closed so I left thinking nothing of it. Apparently, he has moved, or is out of business and took my money. I had an annoying experience here today getting my smog test. I took my car in for smog and it did not pass the 1st time, they charged me, told me to drive my car 50 miles so that the systems can reset and to come back after to get my car smog again. I drove my car as instructed, came back, had them smogged, and was charged AGAIN!!!? No retest at this place, take your money else where, most places will give you up to 3 retest but not this place. There was no place to wait and be able to sit in comfortably. We were waiting in 100 degree heat outside because the room had no ac.Beware of some of the other reviews, on here I found that people giving 5 stars actually work there. read more

Apparently I have an illegal spacer attached to my Oxygen sensor on my bank 2. I had them replaced last year in Dec and Sandhu said that it was giving a false positive mean it passing on the system but they say I have a spacer so which he failed my smog and asked if I had a mechanic try to tell me he know a guy next door to take it off and replace it. I'm like Woow this dude really think I'm stupid trying to scam me. Went to a different spot and it passed just fine. Works there was courteous, fast and polite. I had driven across town lured in by a coupon for a smog for $29 plus cert and this shop charges about the same without the rudeness. Went there to get 2010 Acadia smogged expecting to be charged around $55. When signing service agreement b4, as they hooked my car up to machine, I noticed that the charge wud be $83. When I asked why it was so much higher than nirmal, I was told "due to housing increases etc" which sounded fishy. as a result I had other friends call asking for quotes for like vehicles and they were quoted around $55 and owner even offered coupon for $45.99. I also then recd qoluotes from other smog stations and all 4 were $55 and under (and offered coupon as low as $39.99). I was on Facebook about a month ago and one of my friends on Facebook shared that Ace Smog will be opening in Manteca, CA and it just so happens that I needed a Smog done for my vehicle. I needed a smog check on my 02 Honda. I seen Ace Smog open and decided to give it a try. As I walked in and the gentlemen behind the counter was energetic, polite, and friendly.
