My niece had her oil changed here recently. Usually, when I get an oil change service, they explain everything that they are doing throughout the entire process. They did not do that here. They didn't even show her the dipstick before or after. They also noted "possible oil leak" and said nothing to her about it. No vehicle light inspection or tire pressure check. I recently had my oil change in October. I had to get it done because I was going out of the country for a month. But a month after (November) I got back and drove it around, my suv was empty on oil. I had my oil changed when my light told me I was at 15% oil life. My oil was "supposedly" changed, but was not. My suv notified me stating I have 5% oil life, I checked my oil, and I had none. At SpeeDee, all they did was manually turn off my oil light. But NEVER changed my oil. Plus they looked at my cabin air filter. I noticed the next day that it was all dirty and oily on my glove box, so I opened my glove box and it completely fell off. I was pissed! NEVER EVER COMING BACK HERE. Just like everyone mentioned, I should have read the reviews before coming in but it's so close to my house so I thought I give it a chance. At first, it was good, when I got there I was next in line. After 1 hour, I am still waiting while the car in front of me was still being worked on. I don't know what they were working on but I hope they didn't mess up that Honda Civic. What pissed me off the most was, while I was waiting looking at the workers, they were all just on their phone standing around laughing and not doing anything, instead of helping them finish the car since the line wasn't getting any shorter. After 1 hour and a half, I finally decided to leave and get my oil change done somewhere else. They told me that my car would be done in roughly 45 minutes and that they'd call when it was finished. They never called, so after waiting almost an hour & a half I walked over and the woman at the front desk said it's because she couldn't tell if the guy that wrote my number down wrote a 4 or a 9. For some reason she didn't try both variations. Then to top it off they parked my car and left it unlocked with the keys on the seat once they were done. Glad that it wasn't stolen. Very disappointed with the pre-service information. I was told the oil change would be one price but when it was time to pay, it ended up being a totally different price. I normally get my oil changed at the Stockton location and it is normally $132.00 while in Manteca it was $165. Had I known this I would have visited the Stockton location. That is a huge difference for an oil change. What if I didn't have enough to cover all of the additional fees and charges? There was no additional information in reference to the 17 point check. The lady was quick to say yes they do. Showed up the next day and everyone was scratching their heads. Had zero parts for it. And every five minutes the guy would come in and say, "well. It's going to be $20. More dollars because we have to take this off to get to this". This happened several times. I was there for an hour. Then they come in and said we can't perform an oil service on your car. What a waste of time. I have been coming to SpeeDee for several years and always recommended SpeeDee to other people. Today I recommended my son to get a Smog check. We were told it would be 2 1/2 hours. The Mechanic took our phone number. After 3 hrs with no call from the Mechanic, we went there. The truck was sitting outside done. It had been done for over an hour. The Woman in the office said it didn't pass and said "did the Mechanic explain it to you?" NOoooo. The Mechanic seemed put out to be called in to discuss it with us. Very poor attitude and poor customer service. I won't be going back there. The Woman was very busy on the phone and didn't seem concerned for us to stand there waiting for her to finish what she was saying to us. I WON'T BE GOING BACK. My daughter had her oil change done at the SpeeDee in Manteca. DO NOT EVER BRING your car here. Her car immediately started leaking oil. The paperwork said prior leaking on oil filter housing but that was a lie. She took the vehicle back the next day and was told she had an oil pan gasket leak (another lie). And they let her leave. Now 2 1/2 months later she took her vehicle to another shop to get the ac recharged and ask for them to do the gasket on the oil pan just to find out that it was a stripped drain plug. That was caused by SpeeDee employee. I called and spoke to Ryan who tried to be helpful but said that since it's been over a month they won't honor the warranty of the work. The work by their employee who is no longer there (conveniently) . He damaged the vehicle and it will be expensive to fix (new oil pan needed) and all they would do is refund the oil change. That is not even close to fix the damage done. They have lost all of our business and I will be filing a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repairs and possibly an attorney if the existing company can not rethread the oil pan. read more

Edit after a corporate Speedee's rep reached out to me to request my contact information so they could pass it off the the manager of the store I visited so they could get in touch with me. Since I had been frequenting this shop for several years, I thought I'd give them the chance to make it right. Although I provided my contact information, I never received a call from the manager. I now go to a local smog shop in my area that has never put the wrong oil in my engine or doused my engine bay in oil, either. They are significantly quicker and cheaper, as well. I was in town visiting family and was headed home when my battery light came on. I pulled into speedees, the owner came out to see what was going on. He was able to diagnose it before he even ran the test and helped me figure out if it would be covered under warranty, it was. He held on to my car for the day while I was able to get a tow to the dealership and then he helped see it off so I could deal with my toddlers. I went in for an oil change and when I drove off I was confused on why it said next service due in 4,100 miles instead of the usual 10,000 it usually says when I pick it up from its regular service. I had 3 individuals come and look at what I was talking about who made me feel like I didn't know my car. Needed a tune up and oil change. Paid $300 for inspection and work. They said my wipe blades were good on the paperwork but they were actually in bad shape and I needed new ones so I had to ask for those which means they hadn't really checked them to begin with. When we arrived the worker walked right up to my husband and had no mask on. When I asked my husband to back away from the man he then got closer again not respecting the social distancing. Eventually the worker said his mom works at Kaiser and she says he doesn't need the mask. He then said he could put one on if we would like and then put one on. When we came back to pick up the car the woman running the office which was a tiny enclosed space, was not even wearing a mask. I was a little hesitant to visit this business due to recent bad reviews, but I went anyways because of the $27.99 Conventional Oil change (I'm sick of having to tell my mechanic what to check on my car, like I have any idea of what is going on). I'm happy with the overall experience. I called in advance to see if they were busy and the told me that the waiting time was half an hour. Luckily there was no line when I got there. One of workers approached me and explained the different packages they offered. I told him about the coupon and he explained to me the process (his behavior didn't change a bit when I mentioned the coupon, which is good). I waited for about 20 minutes and the same worker came to me to explained what they have found: my air filters needed to be changed and my transmission fluid was low. After agreeing on the overall price, he went back and completed the job in half an hour. Fast forward my story to now I have my car at meinke and they are fixing this bitch ass places mistake. Whoever did my radiator flush didn't tighten the cap on tight enough (lazy fuck) & now is costing me 100+ more dollars to fix the air that got into my radiator. Thanks you numb nut morons UPDATE: I still was never contacted & I gave the person that commented my info. 3 weeks later no call or email. Lmfao so not only are the mechanics a joke but so is the customer service . I have all the papers stating the mistake that was fixed & the papers from when they did my "radiator flush". Took my Mercedes in at 9:15 was quoted "little less than an hour" came back 90 minutes later and was informed by the short tempered woman in the office that the car is out there and she did not have paperwork. She was quite rude about me commenting you guys quoted a little under an hour. Once I got rung up - without any explanation of services, she said to wait near my car the mechanic has to go out to reset the computer. Upon inspection there was several greasy hand prints on the hood, the cowling, the door and the steering wheel also the air intake hose was not connected properly I also told them not to inspect the air filters as I just put in K&N's - not following directions again - they sent out someone to wipe up the oil but with a dirty rag that had oil on it. That's spread oil around the hood. With things to do I have to run the car through a car wash now - You guys missed the service level I received last time. The care and cleanliness is gone - just hope I have the right oil in my car..... I am thinking twice on my next service. The office woman needs to be trained in customer service - it was insinuated that it was my fault she had no paperwork. I just was unhappy about the customer service. Adam (I hope that's the guy who approached my car first) was super nice, good customer service and that made this experience from the beginning. They allowed me to stay in my car, I'm expecting and that was convenient because I was comfortable the whole time. Let me know my transmission fluid should be changed, didn't push the issue but showed it to me and I decided it needed to be done and they are getting that done for me as well. All guys were wearing masks , extremely nice with manners the whole time. I appreciate the service & I just moved out here and will keep coming back for the oil changes I need. read more
