Came to Golden Smog check cause my wife had her smog done here and I am very happy with the customer service and prompt and quick way he moves from car to car getting everyone through the smog check quickly. He is a one man army who knows his business and not to mention the fact that normal price is $58 and you mention the on line discount and BOOM! $20 bucks off. I extremely recommend coming to get your smog needs done here at Golden Smog Check.

I needed a STAR Smog to get my vehicle back on the road and this was highly recommended by friends so I decided to pop in and it was honestly one of the smoothest experiences ever. They were fast with their services my vehicle passed smog like I suspected.I jumped in my vehicle as soon as I pulled out I noticed my check engine light was on and my vehicle was misfiring... I immediately turned around and asked what happened and the guy proceeded to tell me that he had nothing to do with it that I was lucky it did it after he passed it.. my vehicle ran excellent before this never had any issues until I smogged it now my vehicle has been running like crap misfiring even after replacing spark plug spark plug cables coil packs vacuum hoses.. idek what their smog system did to my vehicle but it crapped on it ... UPDATE: Yes it was your location after spending $500 to replace all my spark plugs ignition coil, distributer and cap and rotor still a misfire . It also took me another $100 for a diagnostic to find out your smog guy Unpluged a timing plug on my passenger side to check my timing and did not plug passenger side under the dash to check my timing and never plugged it back in. So $600 later for nothing to find out you guys forget to do your job correctly . read more

I literally was there less than 15 minutes from the time I pulled in and drove away. The tech was very nice and told me exactly what he was going to do. I was given my price up front (no surprises). I paid $39.75 for the smog and $8.25 for the certificate. $48 out the door. No hassles. My smog results were sent to the DMV electronically and I was given a copy for my records. I will bring back my other vehicle when it is due for a smog in the September. read more

Just honestly trying to understand how this place holds 5 stars. Called them a few minutes before closing to ask a simple and common question, wanted to see pricing for a smog check on my vehicles and the lady over the phone seemed to be mocking my questions which I thought was extremely rude and unappreciated. If your having a hard time understanding my question, simply state that, don't mock your customers in a different tone from how you answered the phone.Extremely rude and definitely not funny. If this was just over the phone I do not want to imagine what service I would receive in person. Thank you for your rudeness, you will not be recommended. I'm pretty sure they offer a "discount" to customers that leave them a yelp review, since most of them are not consistent yelpers and from another state. Hmm. read more

Found them on here. The owner pat walked right up to me greeted me 25 mins before closing and go to working on my smog right away. They have A waiting room with a few seats, reading materials, tv, AC and water. He even gave me a $10 discount because I mentioned that I found them on yelp. great and fast service on a hot day is always a plus. read more

Welcoming staff, I was assisted immediately, the facility is located closed enough to the DMV to just get my smog check done and head over to the DMV. I would definitely recommend this place for a person that wants to be in and out. Took 15 minutes I was surprised. read more

I came here based on reviews from yelp and because I was told it was 30 bucks. I came in on a Friday afternoon and was the only car at the time. The guy was really nice and gave me a estimate of 50 dollars. I told him I had been told it was 30 and he quickly changed the price for me. It took about 5 minutes to check my car and I was done. I definitely recommend this place but definitely call in advance and make sure what the price will be for your specific vehicle and mention the yelp add to get the discount. read more

They understandably assumed I wanted a full diagnosis because of the different issues described rather than just a quote for the valve body repair. And to be honest, that's what the process should be like. Because what if I am wrong about the prognosis, ya know? After dropping off my car, I later received a call letting me know they don't work on transmission-valve body replacements and was charged for the diagnostic, along with a recommendation to another shop. At the time, it felt like I paid for a referral, which didn't sit right with me. Recently, I came back to discuss this with the owner, Richard. We had a great conversation and agreed it was simply a misunderstanding during a very busy day. Keep in mind that Richard is also not the person who took my car in. I am sure if he was there when I first walked in, he would have recommended me elsewhere. But what stood out to me was Richard's professionalism and integrity. You have no idea how easily he could have said "no" to my visit today because at the end of the day I signed off on the paperwork prior to handing off the keys. But instead, he took the time to hear me out and make things right--not because of the money, but because he truly cares about the customer. That kind of passion and commitment is rare in the industry, and it's clear he's one of the only ones to have maintained it for however long he's been in the business, respectfully. That said, the shop itself is spacious and welcoming, not cramped like some places that make you feel rushed. Plus, the location is great--lots of nearby stores and even a gym if you want to kill time while waiting. If you're looking for a place that values honesty and customer care, this is it. I was kept abreast of the repairs on my vehicle and they even stuck around a little after hours to make sure I could get my car after the repairs were done. That Stockton traffic can be a doozy. The issue with my vehicle was a leak in the radiator that Mercedes said would cost $2400 to repair at the dealership, but with Robles's auto repair, I was able to do it for under $800. The parts in general are not what's expensive just my model and Mercedes has a lot of pieces that have to be removed to get access to the radiator. Now my car is running great and I should be good for a long time.
