We went in with high hopes of purchasing a swim spa today, especially with the advertisements of BIG TENT SALE! However, I couldn't get a straight answer on how the 20-40% off as advertised worked, as i was told they take a thousand or two off here and there. Regardless, after an hour+ and being told that we could get the floor model earlier than the one coming in August by the sales guy, right before finalizing the purchase we were told (whom I believe to be the owner) that the floor model can't go until the new one comes in. They have a great showroom floor & can walk you through different choices for your budget. Five stars for Backyards in Style. I purchased a Tropic Seas Spa Tropic Pool by Artesian Spas and a Covana cover and it is installed and in use. Tim and Brian of Backyards in Style are very knowledgeable of their products and provide great insight. It was a tough time to wait for our products to get shipped as Covid prevented faster delivery but this in no way is the store's fault. Brian was our salesman and he made it easy to ask questions and get informative responses for us to make a decision. They we're flexible after we signed out contract to switch our swim spa from above ground to semi ground. In addition to the swim spa, we added a Covana cover later and they made it easy. Installation was smooth and there weren't any surprises. We are pleased with our product and pleased with the service and updates we got especially with the many uncertainties that were out of their control. Update: so the repair guy came out and fixed the spa. He said it was a defective temperature sensor. Mind you, I've only had the spa for two months, and used it twice - and already there's a defect. I asked him if there was something I did that would have caused the issue, and he said it is absolutely nothing that I did, but rather a defect. It is a Sundance McKinley model. Also, after I posted a negative review here, the owner of the place called me two days in a row and left a voicemail for me. I wanted to wait to see what the repair guy said before I got back to him. One of the things that I was upset about was that I had to pay an $80 service fee, but again, after my post, the repair guy said that the $80 repair fee was going to be picked up by the owner of the place. I'm going to leave it at 2 Stars for now, until I see what happens with this spa. So far I am regretting it, but again we'll see. And again, the only time I got a call from the owner was after I posted a negative review. I know that some people have posted good reviews, but I'm wondering how many of those people were either single women or widows. Since I have become a widow, I have found that people have tried to walk all over me, and it is absolutely infuriating. So we will see what happens in the future. We went to them to have a new spa cover made for our above ground. And they told us all they needed was a model number and a year. We provided all the info they asked for and even offered measurements and pictures. And Aaron told us it was not needed. Pick up our cover and is doesn't fit properly. Too long in one corner. New straps are located on a vent. Reaches out to them to explain something went wrong and they are telling us it's all our fault for not providing proper instructions. We offered everything even to bring the old cover in to clone. And we're told by Aaron. That they didn't need that. We are 7 minutes from the store and they refuse to even come look at it. We've sent pics and videos and even though I'm able to fit my hand between the cover and spa. They claim all is fine. Plain and simple the are the middle man here. They don't make them. It's like they just buy it off Amazon or some warehouse and cross their fingers it fits. Terrible customer service. Avoid this place. Get a company that's willing to come out and fully measure your hot tub at your home. read more

I purchased one if their top spas the 880 series and after about a year the LED lights stop working correctly. it is supposed to be under warranty so I called to get service. I was contacted by the service person that told me that the part was probably under warranty but I would have to pay $65 for them to drag themselves the .8 of a mile to my house to fix it. I said I thought it was under warranty. he says the warranty does not cover the gas/ labor/ etc. WOW Had this been disclosed to me at the beginning I would have just purchased a costco spa for 1/3 the price and throw it away when it breaks. Now I have to decide if I want to spend more money on this thing to fix a product that was defective within a year. Other Issues: First the clips that secure the lid to the spa get brittle in the sunlight and 2 of the 4 are broken. I use bricks to keep the warped foam cover down on my 1 year old spa. Second the installation you pay for covers just the guy dropping the spa in about the place you want it. No hook up to the electrical, No explanation on what chemicals to use when and how much to use. Nothing. I had to go to Leslie's swimming pool supply where they gave me a great tutorial. I honestly see no value to a sundance spa over a spa that costs much much less. When friends come over this thing is not impressive for a 1 year old spa. I wonder how long the rest will last....... read more
