I had these guys install an air conditioner. They did a good job on installation. However, we're not honest. I cannot deal with a company that lies to you. The salesman promised us a rebate from Nipsco because of our air conditioner purchase. This turned out not to be true. We called asked about it. They said they would make it right again. All Serivices is always quick to respond, but on big jobs, I always get double talk. I just had to cancel a ~$5200 because I felt very uncomfortable. Their response was for the owner, Brittany, to call and to put me on a 'do not service' list because they didn't like the questions I asked. Apparently, I ask too many questions and caught them.in some double talk. Think twice before you use them. It is sad because I have spent thousands of dollars with them before this. Personally, I will have a reputable company service me, not All Services. This is definitely a consumer beware. They don't have to worry they'll never service me again because I won't call back. $299 to replace a GFCI is way too excessive. Quote was not given on the phone even when I told them what needed to be changed. So it was either $49 diagnostic fee to come out and tell me what I already knew. The cost of a GFCI at a hardware store is rarely over $25 to 40 bucks (that's pushing it, usually they're $15 a pc). The labor shouldn't be more than $100 for a 15 minute job! The work was professional. However, excessive price gouging on parts and labor so I won't be using them again. Do your homework and shop around. read more

Back in November they came out and told us we needed a new expensive high efficiency furnace. We figured it was a smart move that would last years so we went with it. The installation went OK there were some minor issues but they came back to fix them. Fast forward to May they came out to do a free AC check and a week later our AC started acting up. They came back out and told us we needed refrigerant. $400ish for 4 lbs. Then tell us we need a new indoor coil that would cost over $2000. The service manager was supposed to come out to check things a little more thoroughly but istead called during his eta window and basically said he didnt see the need to come out. We ended up calling a different company and found out our ac was over charged and our furnace was not dialed properly which wouldn't allow it to get to the second stage needed for proper air flow. So all services inability to properly install a furnace has now cost us an additional $600. I do not recommend using this company read more

After talking with another company, my mom called me in tears last week. Not going to name names, but this other company was extremely pushy and bullied her into this very specific HVAC unit. So I called All Services and met the guy that came to my parents house. He was very nice and respectful, and didn't belittle my mom for not knowing much about HVAC. He explained things very clearly and was not pushy. He offered her different options (in different price ranges) to consider for her budget. My generator was leaking gas due to other workers stepping on the hose or something falling on the hose. Once NiCor verified the leak, I notified Christina via an answering service and despite their phones being out, she got back to me in minutes and scheduled Spencer, the Tech who was at my house within an hour. All Services Heating and Cooling charged me $318.00 for a capacitor for my Air Conditioning unit! (Over $400 for the visit). Called the wrong A/C repair company! Other area A/C businesses said they never heard of a capacitor costing that much. Serviceman also tried to influence us into a $15,000+ new A/C unit and furnace. After calling many electricians, I finally got All Services Electric to come out and help me with my electrical needs. I recently sold my townhouse and the buyer asked that I fix a couple minor issues. Steve showed up on time and was very professional. We reviewed what needed to be done and he went back out to his truck to call in for an estimate. I agreed to have him complete the work and he was done in about a half hour. He did great work and I was very pleased to have it all done. I think my only complaint is the cost to do the work. They charged me $325 to replace a GFCI outlet in the kitchen, secure the GFCI on the back patio, and secure the main electrical ground strap in the closet. He also checked the circuit breaker for proper fuses. If you need an electrician give them a call. Just be prepared to pay a lot! read more

We have had All Services Electric out to our house twice now. They have installed new front lights, fished a live wire out of our siding, lowered an outlet, installed an outlet, fixed a majorly messed up bathroom fan and installed lights in our sealed crawl space. Both experiences were great, from the moment we called, to the completion of the jobs, true professionalism. I don't know the going rate for most of these jobs, but I am more than willing to pay for things to be done right and they work until it is done right. Well, because my parents who live in Indiana needed their doorbell and intercom fixed. And after numerous calls to people in Chicago who wouldn't come out to Indiana and other calls to people in Indiana who had no idea how to fix intercoms, I finally found a company that would take the chance to try to fix it and boy, I'm glad they did! My mom likes to complain. Let's face it, probably all mother's do. But my mom sometimes takes it to a new level. We're talking Olympian level complaining here. Every time I go home to Indiana I gotta hear about this dang broke doorbell. I tell her, "so get it fixed!" But nooo... she's called around and no one will do it. Now, I can't believe this to be true. I mean, how hard is it to find someone to fix a dang doorbell. Well, after calling around myself, I discovered it's quite hard. Few people in Northwest Indiana know how or feel comfortable figuring out how to fix it. Enter All Service Electric. I call to set up a time for them to visit. Now mind you, I'm on the phone with them while trying to get a time from my mom who's constantly changing her mind... I tell you, they've got the patience of Job. Finally, my mom gave me a time and I set it up with them. THEN I LEAVE TOWN. I'm like, whatever happens happens, at least I won't be there to hear the complaining. Then weeks pass by and just now, on the phone, I ask... whatever happened to???? And oh my God, the complements!!!..... "They were great! They fixed the doorbell AND intercom!!! They gave us a flat rate and had to stay longer than the flat rate and didn't charge us! And they have to come back to install this new piece! I just LOVED them... where did you find them again? I need to recommend them to so and so... I can't believe it, all these years of having to wait at the door when I was expecting company, all these years of living with no doorbell and I have my doorbell again!!!" I had a very pleasant experience with All Services Electric. From the moment I spoke with Cristina to set up the appointment, I knew that I was going to receive top-notch service. She was very professional and sent me a confirmation email promptly after making the appointment. I had no lighting in my living room or kitchen, so I had that done, a ceiling fan installed in the living room, new light fixtures in the kitchen, and they separated the circuits of the upstairs and kitchen areas. Everything is working properly, Josh and crew were neat with their work, the price was very decent, and I am overall very pleased. I gave 4 stars because they don't repair drywall when they have to make holes to run the wires...I wouldn't expect them to though since they're electricians and not drywall contractors. The holes that were left were very neat though, I just need to have someone come out to repair them. Before calling this company all I can say is read my review and then read and look at the number of reviews the other reviewers have (which is something I failed to do prior to calling). Afterwards do yourself a favor and go through the reviews that are not recommended and take note to the 5 star reviewers whom only have 1 review and it's this company. Scandalous!!! My parents and I experienced the displeasure of contacting this company on April 21st, 2016. After reviewing the ratings for this company I thought this would be a great company to go with, boy was I wrong Pros: Kristina was extremely nice and professional even appears to be honest. Josh will travel quite a distance to possibly service your needs as my parents stay about 45 minutes away. Electrican was readily available. Cons: You will be over charged and told you need services in which you may not. The 49.00 is a dispatch fee and you may not receive a quote. You may have to pay $450 for a diagnostic test before your issue is found. During a conference call between Kristina, my mom and myself we explained the electrical issue my parents were experiencing at home... After 10 years of my mom being in her house my brother's television in his room begin to smoke and my mom begin experiences power outages in her room which is on the same level as my brother's room. These outages did not trip the circuit breaker in the basement. However, the bathroom gfci on the same level reset but also did not trip the breaker and there were no other outages in the house. This was explained to Kristina during the initial call. We inquired about free estimates and was informed of a 49.00 fee. Josh came out, completed a quick basic inspection then stated a 4-5 hour diagnostic test needed to be completed and it would cost 450.00. He stated that he may locate the problem while completing this test but if he finds that wires had to be installed or something in the box needed to be replaced there would be an additional charge. We were fine paying the 450.00 if that was the amount needed to fix the problem but due to the uncertainty of that actually fixing the problem we were highly skeptical and apprehensive. I called back to the company to speak with Kristina because we were under the impression that we would receive a quote for the 49.00, at which time I was informed that the 49.00 was a dispatch fee. When questioned about the amount of the diagnostic test, Kristina went on to say that Josh held a conversation with a manager about my parents issue prior to leaving the office and they decided that the best course of action would be the diagnostic test. So prior to leaving they knew we would incur a 450.00 charge. Sounds deceptive? Yes, maybe. I asked to speak with the manager to see if we could get these charges lowered (it was just too much to pay for a test that may or may not resolve the issue) or if we would have to pay the 49.00 fee again if we wanted to wait to have the test performed until we got a second opinion. Brittany (the manager or one of the managers (if that)) called me back. I informed her of everything that Kristina had told me and she denied that she was the one that held that conversation with Josh. Furthermore stating the 450.00 diagnostic test was standard and if he didn't perform the test at that time another 49.00 would have to be paid to have him come back out. Standard meaning their customers are charged to have this test performed often? Sounds like that may be the cause. After ending the call with Brittany, while Josh was still waiting at my parents house I called an Electrican in Franklin Park. I explained the issue to him, he told me what he believed it was quoted me 125.00 to come out and complete the job. My dad paid Josh the 49.00 for coming out doing nothing but recommending a test that was unnecessary. The other Electrican came out looked at the outlet in my brother's room then grounded the gfci outlet in the bathroom...all of 15 minutes and problems fixed. Never went to the basement to look at the electrical box and no other test needed to be performed. Still no further electrical problems as of May 8th, 2016 as I waited to post this review to make sure the problems had been fixed. read more

I had never done business with All Services before. I had them do some modest work and was surprised at the cost. It seemed quite high to me. But walking from it would have cost the $49 they charge to show up so I went ahead with it. I also asked them about replacing a simple switch while they were here and they quoted $100 for that. I knew that was way out of line given they were already on the premises so I passed on it. Later I had very similar but by necessity lengthier work done by another licensed, well established firm. The time on that job was triple the time that All Services spent here and included more replacement parts but the cost was less than what All Services had charged and the other firm included the switch work as well. They appear to do good work but the cost was quite high compared to the competition. Lesson learned: shop around. read more
