I Had my yearly furnace maintenance and checkup yesterday from King Heating, Cooling and Plumbing. My technician Cole was professional in every step of the way while going through the procedures. He explained to me step by step what he was doing as I was asking him questions about what he was doing. He didn't stop working as I was asking questions. He talked about the importance of having your AC and Furnace maintenance and checkup yearly. I was educated about my furnace and importance of changing the Air filter. I feel like I know my furnace like I know my car now. Every technician over the years that came out to maintenance my AC and Furnace were all well trained, trustworthy and professionals. Seems like every time I need a technician to come out, there is always a lack of communication. I requested a morning appointment and thankfully I called to confirm my appointment and sure enough they had me scheduled for an afternoon appointment. I made sure they changed it to morning. Also, I made sure to remind them that I do not have access to a hose or pressurized water source and they said that they had it in the notes. The tech showed up today and said no one told him there was no pressurized water source at my home and he would do his best to clean it by hand. It is unfair that I am asked to pay full price for service that won't be done the right way. I called and let them know the tech was unaware and the woman that answered the phone said it was in the notes and they were not sure why the tech was not informed. I asked for a discount and was just told a manager would get back to me. Very disappointed once again. Do better, guys. read more

Had my furnace and a/c inspected and routine maintenance provided. Everything was so easy from setting up an appointment to the final outcome. The technician was so cordial and friendly yet a true professional. ( not telling his name as I forgot to ask his permission). Everything was explained in a way I understood and encouraged to ask questions if I had any. Received a follow up call next morning just to be sure all was working right and I was satisfied. My 80 y/o mom chose to call the Frankfort King HVAC company to provide her with a complete furnace and A/C system. The day they installed it and accepted payment in the amount of $17,931.00 she asked if I would come by and check it out. I did and immediately noticed that the box for the electrical conduit was wide open on top and the point of the conduit entrance to the building was also not sealed properly. This poses a significant risk of water contacting bare electrical wires and flowing directly into the home. I of course called and was told we can come out Monday. Are you kidding me?????? My mom wanted a new system, not a new house when it burns down from this companies negligence. How unprofessional. I would never recommend this company. read more

Purchased a hot water heater in December of 2024 due to heater break down wish had more time , but in the dead of winter, first they bring me a new hot water heater with a dent on the side of it, our discount $25, again winter cold weather, so they install , the smell was to go away in few hour or so 3 days still gas smell, had call them to come and check only after I did a scope test and it detected gas, the tech had to redo all the connectors , to make sure no more smell, the heater was purchased with the package of a one time water flush included before year is up , now we received a letter with the price $89.95 for the flush , eha read more

I purchased a new heating and air conditioning unit from King this year. $11K. I detected a chemical smell from the air conditioning unit outside during a get-together I was having. The guests smelled the chemical, too. Simultaneously, the thermostat was reading poor air quality in the house. I called King to evaluate. They found nothing wrong. It costs me another $100 for them to they me that. Nice. That and, the thermostat still reads poor air quality. King says it's an algorithm. I say I better get a second opinion. So now I get this response from them: We're sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with your new heating and air conditioning unit (that costs 11K) . We understand your concern and frustration. Please feel free to reach out to us via text or call us for further assistance. Very rude - did not even get past trying to schedule an appointment. The client service representative would not listen to what I was saying. I asked if the technician would be able to speak with the warranty company to state the diagnosis and repair amount and that I would be responsible for paying them directly. She cut me off and said we are COD company only - I repeated that I would be paying. But she said the same thing again. Also said it would be a week before they would come out for a hot water heater. So I can understand the $100 fee for showing up and giving a diagnosis. But to change someone $295 for a starter (capacitor) that sells for $12.99 is a flat out robbery. This review may be fair/ unfair, but it represents my perceived experience with King heating. My gripe is with their warranty/service program. The backstory goes like this. This summer we had a problem with our AC unit. A technician from King came out. He was thorough, professional, and prompt. He recommended we pay for the service via the warranty/service program. This program included an annual furnace cleaning and check up. When I went to schedule the fall furnace cleaning, they are booked out multiple months. In think this is unacceptable. If you don't have the staff to service the product don't sell the warranty. So, in my opinion, I have purchased a product that King cannot provide in a time range that is acceptable. read more

I had a furnace and AC tune up done. I recently purchased a home in Hobart, IN, and wanted a good inspection of the HVAC. Chris, the HVAC tech, was great! He allowed me to watch while he worked and explained everything that he was doing. He was thorough, detailed in his diagnosis, and answered any questions that I asked. While servicing my AC unit, he informed me of a potential hazard that a previous HVAC company did, and fixed it immediately. He gave me a few pointers for me to follow to keep may systems running smooth until my next tune up. He recommended a duct cleaning, which I will be scheduling soon. Called to make an appointment for furnace tuneup. Customer Service person was very helpful and professional. She noticed they had a cancellation and scheduled me for same day. Technician Steve arrived on time. Steve checked my thermostat (did not know I needed to change the batteries). Then he proceeded to clean every part on my high efficiency furnace while answering all my questions. Steve was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. While the price for this service has gone up a bit, I feel I have peace of mind after Steve's assessment of my furnace. I will be contacting King Heating for their duct and dryer vent cleaning. Called King Heating to look at a AC unit in my condo. Lee arrived, looked everything over. He recommended replacing the unit, so he set for Brandon to come out after 6p on a workday. That day/time didn't work for Brandon, so we setup for Saturday morning at 9a. Brandon did a no show. I called him, no answer, called the company and it was like the Twilight Zone. No one could find Brandon, I spoke with three ladies from customer service and the my final call was with Randy. No one ever called me back to give me a status. They charge you a service fee of $99 to come out but they won't follow-up, so I guess they make their money off just doing service calls. Bad service all the way around. Don't use. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Poor customer service, extremely poor interpersonal office communication, completely disorganized. I made 2 separate appointments in August for air duct + heat/air furnace cleaning. Girl said serviceman would come between 12pm-5pm. 9-19-2023: received a voice message saying they confirmed our appointment for the next day: nothing else was said. 9-20-2023, 9am: I received a call from rep Randy panicking he needed a deposit to confirm our appointment (completely unprofessional approach). I told him the girl who took my original appointment said we could pay when the job was finished onsite. His response: "Oh, OK. Well, we need something to hold this job down." I replied "Why are you calling me on the day of the appointment for deposit when appointment was made last month? Girl gave me 2 options: pre-pay or on the day of. I chose the day of when the job's completed." He said "Are you sure you are going to pay us when he comes?" I was flabbergasted as to why he would ask me an unprofessional horrible accusation like that especially since we've done business with this company a few years ago with no problems. My response "Of course, not sure why you think we would not pay." WOW. 9-20-2023 10:10am: serviceman shows up early per my Ring video. I called their office, spoke to Randy: asked him why serviceman showed up early as appointment is at 12pm. He said "Well, he is there now: are you home?" Told him "No, at work: that is why I made the 12pm appointment." 1:05pm: Saw that company called me: called them back right away. Spoke to a girl: she said serviceman is on his way. Waited 45 minutes: didn't show up. Called Randy at 1:50pm: asked him where the serviceman was. He said "We called you: was waiting for you to call back. He is on other job." I told him I already talked to a girl at 1:05: she said he was on his way." Randy said "You'll have to wait." I canceled all appointments: told them never again will we do business. Two years ago King installed my carrier mini split air conditioner. I am still dealing with shoddy workmanship. I kept loosing coolant and my HVAC guy redid all the connections stating the flaring on copper tubing allowed coolant to escape. $900. Would not recommend. read more

For 2 years they came and said my refrigerant was low on my 3 year old unit and charged me for it .. turns out they just didn't want to have to come out of pocket for labor on their warranty, there is a leak on the evaporator coil .. this is my second bad experience after they told me I needed a new Furance rather then using the warranty on the Furance to replace .. run from them ! read more

Our air conditioner went out early Friday evening. I called to get on the list for Saturday.I was offered emergency service and declined. I received a call within a half hour assuring they could come Saturday and i would receive a call in the morning to schedule. Even better Saturday morning I received a call from Chris saying he would be here in 20 minutes. Chris was professional and courteous and diagnosed the trouble in a few minutes. After he got the air conditioner running, he found the freon low and replaced that also. He offered a discount if we signed up for their yearly maintenance plan for $148, which seamed reasonable for yearly air and furnace checkups and discounted repairs. We don't usually take these type of plans but since both units are 11 years old and I was pleased with the service we signed up. read more

They wanted $90 just to quote me how much it would cost to install four toilets. There was no issue to diagnose. I just wanted to replace all my toilets because I just bought the house. So they could show up, quote $1000 per toilet, then when I decline the quote they walk away with my $90. These guys are hustling people with a policy like this. King Heating has serviced our home for fifteen years & are now servicing our new home. Two January's ago our heat went out in the coldest day. They had a tech out in a matter of hours and the heat was back on. We had another heating company service our furnace last week & tell us we needed a new furnace right away. I doubted that so I called King. The tech was knowledgeable & it turns out that we do not need a new furnace right now. I trust King Heating & will continue to USF their services. Beware of this company as they are out to scam you. They came to service my furnace and the guy messes with it and gets it working in like 20 secnds. He then proceeds to tell me the there is extensive water damage and repairs would br 3K but it won't fix the water issue. To do that I need a new system. He quote 16k for a new HE furnace and AC. When I get 2 other quotes they all laugh at the water damage remark and said furnance is in good shape, but if I want a HE unit they could do it for under 7K. Total scam trying to charge 16k for a 7k system and telling me my furnace is shot when everyone else says it is in good shape. Avoid this company. read more
