I sent a request to have three items cleaned. I sent information/material details about the items beforehand and was quoted at $100 for a rug ($60) and full sized mattress ($40), the third item would be determined on site. The owner emailed that they have a $100 minimum to do any work and we would get our money's worth, cool. The tech comes and can ONLY clean the mattress and asked for a $150 minimum?! After refusing to pay that much, I ended up paying $75 for just the full sized mattress after much debate. They should have been upfront about their ability to clean special items, so I believe this was very unfair and didn't get my money's worth at all. Probably ok for traditional carpet, but I'll never use this business again. read more

EDIT: I have changed this to a 1 star rating. The owner is harassing me via email to change my rating because " Incorrect information will definitely hurt me forever if this stays up." However, she acknowledged that she was ambiguous with her pricing in a previous email. I have had to tell her to stop emailing me as she's bordering on harassment. Lastly, the carpet took 26 hours to dry. This is 6x longer than her or her technicians claimed it would take. ************************************************* Original review: This would have been a 5 if the initial correspondence between myself and the owner hadn't been very ambiguous in regards to pricing. The initial emails between us discussed pricing, however, the items that I had done were never disclosed as "extras" and instead were made to seem as part of what was included - which were all discussed. I even moved all the furniture to make it faster and easier. That said, the two technicians Josh and Jeremy were very personable and professional. They understood my initial disappointment that the cost was going to be twice what I was told in the emails. They got to work and it initially everything looks great. Josh did a great job of explaining stains he didn't think would be removed so that my expectations wouldn't be unrealistic. That said, they both worked really hard and at least initially look great. I hesitate to review this before everything actually dries, however, I'll update this rating if things change. That said, I've been pleased with the other carpet company I've used for years and are half the cost that I paid today. I may not use All Star again, simply because of pricing, rather my irritation with the non disclosed fees. read more

Waste of money and time! I booked weeks in advance and they showed up 3 hours late. My home had sold and I was having the carpets cleaned before the new owners took over. 48 hours after the carpet was cleaned, it was still very wet and had a moldy smell that wasn't there before-NOT what I wanted the new home owners to walk into! We had no pets but had two kids and the carpet ended up worse after I had it 'cleaned.' $700+ down the drain. I spoke to the owner Shelly about my situation and not only did she not offer to come back to fix it or any kind of refund, but was very rude and hung up on me! I had just bought a new home and needed my carpets cleaned prior to moving in. My husband has allergies and did not want some standard steam clean with water, take a couple of hours to dry and hope for the best type company. I found All- Star on Yelp. They were Quick to respond and friendly to my inquiries. Due to the weather the gentleman were delayed, but the office contacted me promptly to let me know they may be a bit late. The gentleman showed up and walked through the house with me and let me know what was being done to the carpets and how it would progress. They were polite and professional. I requested an appointment online and received an immediate response from Shelly. Shelly was very prompt and accommodating in setting my appointment for the next morning as I requested. Although her crew was a little late due to a mapquest communication error, it was worth the wait! Shelly called to keep me informed, which helped. They were courteous, friendly, and diligent in removing the carpet stains, including aged pet stains, in our basement entry hallway and basement room. They tried several solutions and were able to remove all visible stains, and the scent of the products used was a clean refreshing smell rather than a perfumed masking odor. I used Chem- Dry's services to clean our carpets when we lived in Western New York over 12 years ago. I was always satisfied with the results. So with All- Star's favorable reviews, I figured go with what you know. From my first conversation with Phyllis, the experience was great. The initial estimate was right on with the actual quote Shelly came up with the day of the work. Price was very reasonable for work to be done. They did not nickle and dime, only charging for what the did. Even saved me money where they could like combining small areas instead of charging as separate areas. I also had a couple areas of carpet where our puppy decided to chew up, and several areas where our carpet had bubbled after installation. Shelly recommended a professional that she thought could repair the areas. She even reached out to him for me. He called right away, and he came out the next day - a Saturday! Shelly and All Star are terrific! I purchased an old goose neck rocking chair that had spots, general fading, and a lot of smell, including some old cigarette stink. My wife refused to sit on it. No one would consider a small job of this sort, but Shelly was very enthusiastic about making sure I got what I needed. Typically they service in-home, but she was very accommodating to my needs and made special arrangement for me to drop off the chair. Shelly and her team are AWESOME! Got my carpets cleaned yesterday and really appreciated the attention to detail they had prior to starting the work. This is my second cleaning in two years with ChemDry and my 10 year old berber carpets look almost new and they dried before the kids got home. There was one area on the stairs that looked like it was still dirty and we did not notice it until later in the evening and thought it may be the lighting. So later today we looked at it again and it does look like it needs some work. So we called Shelly and talked it over and she was great receiving feedback and offered to send her team over on Monday to look at it. I think what blew me away with the call was that she carefully listened to understand, and educated me about how carpet fibers react to dirt and was willing to have her team come back and review it and try to get it taken care of. What an awesome experience. We bought a 17yr old ranch with Berber carpet and a whole lot of 12x12 tile. The carpet came out great (as we expected) but what we can't get over is the transformation of the tile. What I can describe as brown tile with a red tinted grout magically became sandstone tile with a light tan grout again. Then, when I found a couple spots where there was maybe a quarterf inch or so of grout next to the baseboard that their "machine" couldn't get too, they came back a couple days later at no cost and used a hand tool to clean these hard to reach areas. I had the carpets in my home cleaned by All Star Chem Dry today, and the technician did a terrific job! The heavily stained, high traffic area dining room looks like the carpet is brand new now! The technician suggested I have the carpet stretched, which I asked him to do. It turned out really well. A room I was just trying to get looking half way decent so I wouldn't have to replace the carpet this year, looks great! I'm really pleased. Good service and good products. Scheduled a visit from ChemDry this past Saturday and they cancelled 20 minutes before they were supposed to arrive. I planned my entire weekend around being home for them to come and clean my carpets. Ended up hiring another carpet cleaner to come on Sunday, totally ruining a weekend with beautiful weather (finally!) ChemDry should pay me the $250 that they were going to charge me to clean my carpets on Saturday. Would never rely on this vendor. read more
