I have a story! Our air conditioner had been leaking for a couple of days by the time we noticed it. We turned it off and called a different company who came out and determined that we needed a new coil, outside AC unit plus we had to replace the heater because it had been damaged from the water leaking. This was going to cost $11,000. We set up service for the next day because it's in the 90s and we work from home. An hour later a friend gave me Igor's number so I could get a second opinion and I called to see if he could come that same day and he did. He looked at everything and said the pipe is clogged and he could blow it out to fix it, which he did and that fixed the problem. He also looked at her heater, and there was no water damage. Called Igor, to replace our 27 year old furnace and AC. After discussion about correct system and size, we set the date. In the morning two workers came to remove old equipment and prepare new equipment. Everything was brand new in original packaging. 2 hours into the job, two more workers came and Igor. By 4 PM everything was installed including a replaced line to outside AC condenser. Everything was soldered together, refrigerant, power box replaced, ducts connected, with filter box and new Nest thermostat installed. 20 min later all drop cloths were gone and area was vacuumed and clean. Just is if nothing happened. Were not for new thermostat, there was nothing different visible in the house . Crew was quick, clean, Igor made sure all parts were properly fitted and heat/cold was/is working great. The unit is very quiet and runs great. First, my husband tried to replace the fuses. He's handy and tried to diagnose the problem on his own, but was out of ideas. Our unit is 14 years old, and we figured that it was time to replace it. I called the first number on Yelp, and was told that the diagnostic fee alone was over $100 and they couldn't come out for 3 days. Then, I tried All Star Service Co. Yesterday my wife discovered the thermostat was dead and I was able to figure out that there was still power, so the thermostat apparently died. Igor just fixed our air conditioner and we are very happy. Our upstairs air conditioner started blowing hot air this morning. I checked a few Yelp reviews and called Igor. He said he could come out that evening! I called three other companies and the earliest they could schedule an appointment was a week out. Igor arrived early in the time window (always a plus) and got right to work finding the problem - a leak in our freon. Our AC units are 20 years old so I was worried it would be a "you gotta replace it" kind of thing - thankfully not. Igor fixed the leak and re-charged the system with freon. I had him check the other unit too, because, what the heck I got him there, why not? It was a little low on freon pressure too so he charged it a bit. The price was more than fair and he explained everything. He was thorough and his Russian accent is cool too. When our A/C stopped cooling the house, we had 3 other companies come out and check on it and give us estimates. It took all the other companies 3-4 days before they were able to work us into their schedule. We were about to choose one of the 3 companies to do the work, but then when someone told me about Igor and how good his work was and honest and fair he was, I decided to give him a call. That was the best call I ever made! Igor was able to work us in the same day. Igor started checking out the furnace and A/C Unit right away and gave us our options. We sat down and he spent quite a while with us explaining everything that was wrong and what we could do to repair or replace our system. We decided that day that we would have Igor do the job. When I called him on Friday afternoon he told us he could start the job on Monday afternoon and be finished by Tuesday. Igor and his guys showed up on Monday about noon as promised and finished up everything on Tuesday. My usual go-to AC repair company had appointments booked out for three weeks and my sweating tenants were sitting in a 92 degree condo. A neighbor recommended Igor at All Star and I called him at 3:54pm on Saturday. Within 5 minutes, I received a call back, He said he would arrive sometime between 6:30 to 8 PM. At 5:16 PM, he called me and he said he'll be there in 15 minutes. Before I could even arrive at my rental, Igor had diagnosed the problem from outside... a shorted wire. After two months of searching for someone to fix my gas fireplace and no one calling me I recieived a call from Service All Star and they came the same day, made a diagnosis and estimate with a small service fee that was applied to repair cost. Wow, I can't believe no one has Yelped this company yet. Oh well, I'l be the first, and I hope I don't sound like I'm being paid to boast about this company, because I'm really not. It just so happened that our AC started to blow warm air yesterday, and after asking friends for a recommendation (I had no idea who to call) I got this company's name & number. Totally lucked out big time. We paid WAY less than expected, especially for the call just to come & check things out. Other places I called from Yelp, (before I got my personal recommendation) wanted $90.-94 just to come & do a diagnosis. All Star charged $60. The owner/techinican is a cool young buff dude named Igor. He replaced a dead part of the compressor, added freon, checked the thermostat, stayed to make sure everything works, gave a written warrantee of his work, and deducted the service call from the price. read more

In a sea of potential horse thieves in this business, All Star Service Co stands apart and is an utterly stellar company I am glad to do business with. Quite frankly, I can't say enough good about them. As luck would have it, as the heatwave starting in the last week of June 2013 was coming on, my central A/C failed. After an attempt at highway robbery from Orange Coast Plumbing (my review here http://www.yelp.com/biz/orange-coast-plumbing-santa-ana) it was hugely refreshing to find a company that not only had service in mind but ALSO to get one back up and running for the LEAST possible cost. I had started out by looking for a residential HVAC parts supply shop to get a new control board to replace the one in my system. I knew which part number I wanted (this after the one it superseded being no longer available prompting the other guys to tell me I needed to spend $10k for a new system to solve it) and found one on the third try. The gentleman that answered the phone asked if he could call me back after he checked with one of his techs in the field. Glory be, he called back in minutes, the tech was in my area, and would bring it to me. When Alex got to the door he had exactly the part in his hand but he also suggested that he would be happy to put it in for me. As he said, "it's an expensive part and would be best if we knew for sure that was the problem". Even though i was 99.9% sure of that it was the problem I told him to go ahead as his price was for the board INSTALLED (and, at that well under HALF what the other horse thieves suggested had they decided to actually repair the problem. Alex VERY thoroughly checked the system and, aside from most techs that can diagnose only to major component level, knew what was gong on INSIDE the board and could read the circuit diagrams. It finally was utterly obvious that it was indeed the board. When he started to swap out the old for the new, we could see the burnt circuit trace behind the fan relay. That was clearly the problem. Very likely the board could've been made to work again just by re-soldering the pin. Alex even suggested that "so my repair would be much less expensive". Now THAT'S a breath of fresh air. In the end, since the old board was clearly a poor design, I had him put in the new one. I had cool air by 1PM that afternoon after great service from a company that doesn't have stiffing the customer as their mantra. These guys are very very good and not only will have them back if ever I need them, I'l heartily recommend them to anyone. read more

Changed it and showed me the old part. My AC unit is 40 years old and I was afraid that he was going to tell me I needed an upgrade. A/C went out Saturday night during a heat wave. My handyman/contractor identified the problem Sunday morning (condenser pump). I called around to those that showed open on Sunday. If I could give this company and the owner Igor 1000 stars, I would. Our house is currently in escrow. The buyer's inspector requires us to have a licensed HVAC contractor service and do some other work for our air conditioner. I called several contractors for bids; after several calls, I worried a bit when realizing how much it would cost to have my AC fixed. One contractor even mentioned over the phone that it seems as if I have a serious issue with my AC and it would probably cost around 4 to 5k to have it fixed. Well, I found Igor's contact info from the Ladera Life message board. I am soooo glad that I did. He is truly a diamond in the rough. I just can't believe that there is still a contractor who is so HONEST, TRUSTWORTHY, RELIABLE, DOES NOT RIP YOU OFF AND THAT IS IGOR. He even read the report from the inspector, checked what is required and told me some issues on the report do not need to be fixed. He said he will write a rebuttal to the inspector. When it came time to write a check, I was shocked at how reasonable his price was. He even offered not to charge for the insulation that he replaced. Wow, what a great experience. My son lives in Laguna Niguel and his heat pump would not work. It was in November of 2015 and the temps were cold. I wanted to find a heating & air conditioning company that would go out and evaluate his system and try to fix it. The heat pump was from the late 1980's and the A/C condenser was from the late 1990's. If the system needed to be replaced so be it. The compressor went out in our old air conditioning unit, so we decided to purchase a new unit. Our tenants wanted us to get it installed immediately right in the middle of a heat wave, which was an impossible demand.
