Guess they named the business after the yelp reviews, as they are definitely "All Star." I went into a panic as my property in Napa was experience sewage that was coming out of the tubs, the toilets, showers and even the walls!!! Yikes... and naturally it happened on a Sunday. I called my regular plumbers who told me they don't come out on weekends. :( Called a second plumber that I used before, and their emergency rate had doubled and was beyond affordable. To give you an idea, I've paid attorneys less. It was then that a friend gave me a referral to All Star Plumbing and I am beyond grateful that he did. I contacted Mark, who immediately got in touch with his emergency drain clearing guy. Gaetano called me immediately and went over the problem while he was loading the truck to come to my house. He was there within 1/2 an hour. Wow again!!! He cleaned out the stoppage and gave me advice on what to do going forward, and only charged me $235 for the emergency visit. I will admit, I can be generous with reviews. Then a company like this one comes along and makes me rethink who I should be giving 5 stars to. I moved into a older home. It's on a well. The sinks were backing up and overflowing. The master toilet would not flush. The home has a well and the water is brown; quite stressful. Trying to find a plumber has been tough. California has been hit by fires. People are trying to repair and rebuild. Makes my issues pale in comparison. Some companies would not even call back. Some had wait lists. This company went above and beyond. The office manager let me know they were short staffed, but assured me they wanted to help. The owner himself came out! Within an hour! He provided immediate repairs. Got things flowing again. Recommended long term solutions and how to move forward. The invoice was reasonable. Thank you all! read more

After a very difficult move to a new house, the only thing I wanted was a hot shower. I immediately realized the shower head in my new place wasn't producing hot water. I called AllStar and they were able to come out the next day. It was a simple valve replacement, which they were able to get done in short order. Since then, I've hired them to diagnose and fix a few other plumbing-related issues, the most serious was an improperly-designed re-circulation loop keeping hot water to the back of the house (a distance away from the hot water heater). This affected a jetted tub in the master bath, which only produced a lukewarm bath. Their tech diagnosed a faulty check valve and wrote up a quote to fix it. The next day, someone showed up to replace the faulty valve and asked me to pay off the invoice. I mentioned that my wife needs to verify the tub produces sufficiently hot water to soothe an injury. They were happy to wait, and said that if anything wasn't as expected to just give them a call. Well, unfortunately, their work didn't affect the tub temperature at all. I called them back expecting to be quoted another service call's worth of money. To my surprise, they apologized profusely and said they would send their lead plumber out to look at the loop. They were very apologetic for the experience. The next day, their lead plumber arrives, looks at the state of the re-circulation loop, and determines the need for a 2nd check valve in a different location. Again, I was expecting another quote and another job. I was very surprised when he said "I can get this done for you in about 30mins, no charge, we should have caught this the first time". Having spliced in the necessary valve, we filled the tub up and used a digital barbecue thermometer to observe the water temperature. He explained he wants to observe the performance of the loop, and also see if the hot water heater is able to keep up with the demand. We filled the entire tub up with 115 degree hot water, and I've very happy to say my wife is able to properly soothe her injury. I would really recommend AllStar Plumbing! They are fantastic. They show up on time, are super friendly and very professional. They wear booties while in my home, and do a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I'm a super happy customer and will return to them for my future plumbing needs. read more

We just had two bathrooms remodeled and working with Zina and her crew was a fantastic experience! Remodeling at its best is not a comfortable process due to the disruption, dust, etc. but they went absolutely above and beyond to mitigate the impact on our home and on us. Fortunately we were able to time it so that most of the work was done while we were away; we left the keys with Zina and knew that we could trust her and her crew to work responsibly in our home, which they did. There were a couple of hiccups along the way but Zina has a great eye and a breadth of knowledge that made it easy to resolve those challenges. She has faith in her crew and rightfully so.....they are a great bunch of experts who are amazingly skilled at what they do. Bottom line, we are thrilled with our new bathrooms and will definitely call this company again for plumbing and/or remodel needs. read more

I have used All Star Plumbing several times and they have been awesome. Not only have they done great plumbing work for me in the past but today they were our HERO's. On a Saturday afternoon our commercial project sprung a leak all over our newly installed Sheetrock. Not only did Mark pick up the phone but he was able to get Ryan out there within 20 min. A few weeks ago my basement started to flood. So I called All Star Plumpbing. Best decision ever!!! Mark was there early; he put a camera in the pipes and explained everything to me as I watched the camera. I saw what horrible condition our pipes were in. He explained to me what needed to be done, and how he could do it the most efficient way possible. When Mark and his people arrived they were amazing. They loved communicating what they were doing and explaining to us their jobs they were performing each day. It was so great, I learned so much. Each person who came over to work on the house was friendly, knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. They also had all these super amazing cool tools that seemed to really help them do their jobs better and to insure they were providing the highest caliber of service. Mark always communicated with us when the water was going to be off. We had thought it would be off for it least a day or more so we were considering getting a hotel for a night. But by the time I came home from work the water was back on and running perfectly. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to experience a company who hires such capable employees who have such a high degree of integrity. I could tell immediately that these people loved the work they did, and loved the company they worked for. As others have said, this outfit deserves more than 5 stars! I've used them for jobs large and small over the past five years and have never failed to be impressed with their service, and greatly satisfied with their work. My history with All Star Plumbing: 1) Call was for a warranty fix on a self-installed water heater from Home Depot. The manufacturer determined my heater had a defective control unit and sent out a new one, referring me to All Star as their contracted installer. All Star was easy to work with, on time, and followed directions perfectly! I was able to get the replacement done as scheduled without actually meeting anyone from All Star! They were so dedicated, efficient and attentive to detail that it was as if my water heater was fixed by magic. 2) Call was for a washing machine backing up due to a clogged drain line. My kitchen was flooding, so they juggled their schedule to get someone out the next day after I called in the afternoon. Fixed in 20 minutes and priced as quoted the day before. They were ready to go up on the roof to clear the drain through a vent if needed. Once again, very impressed. 3) Call was for an emergency leak repair after I woke to the sound of running water at 5:30 in the morning. Called and left a message around 6:00am and had a 2-man crew on-site by 9:00. They found a rusted-through hot water pipe and installed a saddle clamp to get water back in the house by 9:30. Again, priced as quoted with a single parts charge for the clamp they installed. Mark, the supervisor on this call, noted the ancient nature of my plumbing (1950s vintage galvanized pipe, waaay past its life-expectancy) and asked if he could take some extra time to quote a full replacement. He promised a quote I'd be crazy to turn down and took the time to listen to my thoughts and concerns. He heard my ideas on materials to use, and answered all my questions. After some comparison shopping, it was clear his quote was all that he'd said it would be. 4) This job was the complete plumbing replacement mentioned in #3. An EPIC piece of work that replaced every inch of my plumbing from the street on up! A crew of 6 (yes, SIX GUYS!) showed up on-time the first day after the permit was secured and just BLITZED the job! They happily allowed me to observe their work and follow their progress, again answering all my questions and addressing all my concerns. I was especially impressed with the care that the senior guys took to make sure that the junior guys understood the "right way" to do things, and that they explained WHY it was the "right way". This was a 4-day job, and the All Star crew was careful to leave me with working plumbing at the end of each day. The lead plumber on the job was incredibly courteous and informative and was on time for each inspection by the city building department. I cannot recommend All Star highly enough! I'm a committed, well informed, do-it-yourself guy and I'm happy to report that All Star has ALWAYS done work that meets my high expectations. They do the work right the first time, just as I would; and, they stick with the job until it's done to your satisfaction. I should mention that his review has been written about 7 months after the last big project with All Star. I have not had any problems or issues with the their work in that time. it stands the test of time! read more

I am so lucky I found All Star Plumbing. When I lived in Sonoma my boyfriend and I had a horrible time with that old house's plumbing, including a toilet that kept backing up and a leak behind the wall in the bathroom. I contacted Mark, and got amazing service at a reasonable price. Our problems were SOLVED in one day, and we never had those problems arise again. I wish I could find someone that good, quick, reasonable and pleasant here in San Anselmo. If I have another plumbing need I will call All Star to see if they'd travel the distance! read more

Be very wary of this company. They take advantage of the elderly and did so with my father-in-law. A water heater needed to be replaced in a small apartment building he owns. He had our property manager call All Star to do the work. Subsequent to the work being completed the property manager then received a bill for $6515. They called me to approve since it seemed an exorbitant amount of money for an install of a 100 gallon water heater. There was no breakdown of charges, just a single number on an invoice. When I asked for a breakdown of the charges wanting the make, model and cost of the water heater, any ancillary parts required as well as the labor I was told they do not provide itemized bills and mentioned that this was a "contract" job. They did send me an email where they seemed to try to substantiate $6515 worth of charges but it really didn't add up and was clearly done in haste and retrospectively. When I requested a copy of the "contract" they could not seem to find it. Then about 10 min later they emailed a hastily written "contract" stating in the email "found it". When I asked for evidence that this "contract" had been submitted and approved by our property management company (listed as the customer on the alleged "contract") it was crickets. The very next morning, unbeknownst to me, they had instructed my 90 year old father-in-law to meet them at his apartment building at 9AM as they had something for him to sign. He signed the "contract" before I could get to him to advise him of what they were up to. He had no idea what he had signed. I called All Star soon after this happened to dispute the charges and discuss their business tactics. They charged my father-in-law $4911.00 for the 100 gallon water heater and this seemed high to me. I got a quote from Fergusen's Appliance for the exact same make and model and it should have cost us $2732.00. When I questioned the All Star people about this huge disparity in price they claimed the difference ($2179.00) was the ancillary parts required to hook up a new water heater. Fergusen's told me those parts run about $48. In addition to overcharging for the unit they claim that it took 10 hours to install a 100 gal water heater. We had the exact same size in our personal home and our plumber replaced ours in about 3 hours so once again overcharged for the labor. When I asked what they would do to resolve these issues their suggestion was to remove the water heater! I told them that was out of the question as it would further upset my elderly father-in-law who was already very distraught over the situation. If I could give this business negative stars I would do so. I believe there are laws that protect the elderly from abuse and fraud such as was perpetrated here but we will just move on and never do business with this company again and I suggest the same for all who read this review. read more

Hired them to fix leak under kitchen sink and repair a leaky faucet (which was done on 2nd day as part needed to be ordered). Work was done well. However, feel I was over-charged on labor as faucet replacement took only 15 minutes and I was charged for a separate 3/4 hour labor @ $149.00/hr., on top of the 1&1/4 hr. of labor I was charged on the 1st day. In total I was charged $294.25 for approximately 1 hr. 15 mins. of work. My fault for not checking the invoice more closely before signing. Additionally, he asked to look at my water-heater, whereupon I was informed that it was out of code and should be replaced for the tune $2000. When I had another plumbing company take a look , I was informed that it was fine as is and to leave it alone. Clearly, a case of All Star trying to pad the bill. read more

We hired All Star Plumbing to replace our kitchen counters, remake sink and faucets. They gave us GREAT customer service and did a quality job. When one of the sub-contractors, a carpenter, got over committed Rob, the All Star owner convinced him to come in to do the work on the planned day by personally working as his assistant for a day and a half. Now how is that for commitment? We had other complicated issues come up on the project. Rob and Zina, his wife, were always there to help find the best solution. On a trip to Italy I met an interior designer from Texas who gave me advice on remodeling my master bathroom. She recommended finding a plumbing contractor that also gave design consultation. Luckily I found that in All Star Plumbing's Zina Kirtlink. Being a single woman, it was beneficial to have another opinion and one that had much more experience than myself. Many times in picking finishes, I thought I knew what I wanted. Zina would make suggestions and after consideration I realized she was correct, experience! She also ran the job with the subcontractors, I did not have to deal with staying on top of them. She realized what they needed to correct and took care of those issues for me. I was able to take two separate vacations which avoided living in dust during demolition and construction. It was reassuring to know that someone competent and trustworthy was overseeing the complete construction. I am very happy with my fabulous master bathroom. read more

The sewer line from the toilet in our condo kept backing up. We had several different plumbers come would get everything working again, but it only lasted for two or three months and then we had the problem again. We again called a plumber (Admiral Plumbing) from Payson. They cut a hole in the ceiling and told us they could not deal with the problem. They referred us to All Star Plumbing after charging $369 for the sewer line cleaning again, but the leak and sewer line back up problem still remained. We called All Star Plumbing and Bret Proveaux came and helped us. He found that a previous plumber had lost the head of his router in my line and it was lodged therein. That was the cause of our problem. Although the price seemed excessive by All Star, Bret Proveaux was outstanding. He was efficient, knowledgeable, worked hard, and I could not give him a higher grade. I would recommend his services to anyone. read more
