Do yourself a favor and do not even bother giving them a call, the company is absolutely terrible, the service is horrible, they are extremely rude and unprofessional. Steve himself was rude and unprofessional from the start, and it went downhill from there. The work that was done was subpar and did not resolve the plumbing issues I was having. I ended up needing to hire another plumber to fix everything, which cost me extra time and money. We are entirely dissatisfied with the job that Mr. Silva did for us here in Napa, which was to connect the main water meter to our house. We had dug a 16 inch trench, filled the bottom with sand, and had the 3/4 inch copper pipe here on the job site to speed the job. He inspected the trench, the water meter, and the shut-off valve to the house, and assured us that his best foreman would handle the job, and show up with the proper fittings. His bill was 40 percent higher than his estimate, and when we questioned him, he told my wife that he didn't remember giving us an estimate when we questioned the higher bill. (A recorded voice on his website boasts that his estimates gives the customer peace of mind, and no bad surprises.)He said that he "gave us a deal" since he didn't charge for his coming to the job site to give the estimate. (Four others had given free estimates, and didn't complain about not getting job) Please get written estimates from him if you are so unlucky to not find another plumber in the Napa area. read more

We needed a new waterline put in from the meter to the house so we called the company which was recommended to us by Penny Pincher Construction ( which we trust ) . The first young man that came out Chris was very nice and explained everything to us we told him we would contact them when ready. when we were ready they let us know to call 811 to mark lines etc & checked on us. Came back out about a week later with a helper named Axel. They were both so courteous nice young men they got in and got the job done with care of our plants. Hot water heater went out on Easter. I called and had an immediate answer. I appreciated that they were up front about the cost minimum for coming out and the Holiday/Emergency rate. Got a call back from our plumber within 10 mins from speaking with dispatcher and he was at our house within 30 mins. Ultimately the issue was due to electrical wiring however our plumber thoroughly inspected everything to make sure and safed off the electrical connections as added safety precaution. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Steve Silva Plumbing for about 20 years. My last few service appointments have been less than acceptable. First issue was three consecutive garbage disposals leaked upon installation, causing damage to my kitchen cabinet. Eventually, I decided not to even have a garbage disposal installed. Steve Silva did refund my money for the cost of disposal and installation. Back on March 9, Zac came to install kitchen sink and snake slow draining bathtub line. Which has been slow for years and was previously snaked by them a few years earlier. Zac seemed to get the line to drain better, but he recommended that it never be snaked again, just add a lot of chemical drain cleaners if it runs slow again. This seemed like bad advice as I know frequent use of drano chemicals can severely damage pipes. A month later, same drain became worse. I followed Zac's advice and poured many bottles down the tub, sink, and adjacent kitchen sink, thinking this would clear the line. Nope. So having lost some confidence in Steve Silva Plumbing, I decided to call another plumber. My new plumber attempted to snake the drain and when he pulled the snake back out, it was covered in mud. An lo and behold...the sewer drain from the tub thru the sink area is almost completely rotted out and clogged with mud, that seeped into the rotted drain line under my cement slab house. Now I am undergoing a complete bathroom jackhammer and drain line replacement in my bathroom! I had also asked Zac about tightening the handles on my master bath faucet. Zac simply stated that it could not be done, faucet had to be replaced. My new plumber, popped off the cylinders and tightened them both back up in under 1 minute! Thanks Steve Silva Plumbing for all the stress and bad advice. I am currently going thru a major health issue, and this could have been repaired months ago if it had been detected back in March. read more

I had a list of minor repairs from a house inspection made when selling my house. I called Steve Silva because I have used them in the past with good results. The plumber Chris came on time and began work immediately but not before explaining every thing he was going to do to correct the problems listed. One of the repairs needed a major part of a shower drain which had to be ordered. He returned today with the part, worked quietly and quickly to replace it and totaled up the hours split between both days, for a total of only 3 hours! Zac came to our home to help us with a clogged sewage problem. Our home was built in 1978 in the Browns Valley area of Napa. The builders were not as clear headed as they are now and hid the clean out spots so well that if a technician would not be interested in doing his job would get this job, that person would declare impossible and charge you for the visit and leave. Zac was able to deal with this problem and took steps to open up pipes in areas that allowed him access to the line. He was able to clean the line and get our system back in order. A less professional plumber would have just found a way to charge you more for all kind of options and come back another day to start the job. We are so happy that we can use our services now and don't have to run to the nearest gas station or other nearby resources. Called to ask where the person was, and was told the the appointment was for the following week; it wasn't, but whatever, we will see you next week. Again, waiting at the designated time, and again a no show. The office was called and was informed that there was no scheduled appointment, would we like schedule one. Maybe we will pass. Our house was built in 1857 and who knows when the plumbing was installed! Since the 2014 earthquake, it had been acting up and this year, it was time to do the "big job" we had been putting off. Enter Steve Silva Plumbing, who did an amazing job under terrible conditions and constraints. The plumbing was Byzantine--a complete mess, and had to be completely rerouted under the house through a very small crawl space on some of the hottest days of the summer. Despite the conditions, the men on the job were good-humored, hard-working, polite, and professional, and our plumbing has worked perfectly since. This was my first ever time calling a plumber for my own house. Ive seen Steve Silvas trucks all over town and I liked that their website so I called them. The receptionist took a message and said someone would call me back, im thinking greeeeat... No longer than 5 minutes later I get a call back, the guy was very very nice and professional sounding on the phone. I explained my problem, which was just a clogged guest toilet, no real emergency. He said hes available and was here in about 10 minutes. 10 MINUTES!! I called them 54 minutes ago , and hes already fixed it, cleaned up, left, and im writing this review. As he fixed it I asked if I could watch (I like learning) and he explained everything he was doing as he went. Also answered ALL my questions and concerns, and gave me very helpful suggestions for the future. They were fair priced (I know what our previous plumber charged us), especially since it was evening they didnt charge an after-hours fee or anything. When I called back, I got some inaccurate information that left me frustrated. I was immediately contacted by the customer service team who vowed to rectify the issue. We just purchased a home in Napa. The termite inspector had noted a "possible" leak in the crawl space under the washer. Having had slab leaks in our former home, this struck terror into our hearts. The Steve Silva plumber arrived exactly at the time promised. He took time to crawl under the entire house and inspect everything. He pronounced it dry as a bone, even though it was hailing outside at the time. He said some of the previous soldering could reflect back and look like drips but everything was great. What a relief! He was very careful to be sure that not a piece of dirt came up with him from under the house. He used drop cloths and cleaned up carefully. Their price was very fair. I've rarely had to call a plumber, but today, when my wife discovered water dripping onto our kitchen counter through the ceiling above, I called Steve Silva Plumbing after I turned off the water outside. The receptionist was courteous despite my frantic call at 8:20 a.m. To my dismay, she reported that all plumbers were busy and none were in our area (Lake Berryessa, 20 miles from Napa) at the moment, but she'd assign someone when he or she became available. I thought, Sure...here we go...the long wait. I settled in to wait, figuring it might be all day before I got a call. She called back before noon, and 20 minutes later, Mario the Plumber arrived, looking neat and clean, driving a spotless white van. He was courteous and neat; he got out dropcloths and laid them out liberally over the counter, and set to work. Less than 2 hours later, the leak'd been located and repaired. In addition, he spotted several other bad solder joints and re-soldered them before we had another episode of leaking. The most amazing thing was, Mario really cleaned the area after he finished work, which is saying something because he had to remove three sections of wet sheetrock. The water is back on, and we are good to go. Mario even had a recommendation for a good sheetrock repairman for us, to replace the wet insulation and sheetrock. Fortunately for us, we managed to catch the leak before it had a chance to spray for hours, so damage was minimal. Mario made some good suggestions how to avoid or minimize any further unpleasant surprises or water damage by the use of a remote solenoid valve, and I plan to take him up on it. These guys deserve a "5" in my book. My motto is, give praise when earned, and Mario earned it for sure. read more

Yesterday,Thursday,a really great technician, John, from this establishment came out to our home to "snake" our tub drain. Given a 1-3 pm window of arrival, John was actually there early, and we have a difficult place to find. Extremely nice, while professional, John introduced himself and was onto assessing the situation immediately. Not only did he do what he was sent to do, he came up with a pipe solution outside for any future issues (keep in mind that in know nothing about plumbing). Even though my wife and I insisted that it'd be unnecessary, John even cleaned our tub NICELY after he was done. I had a clogged sewer line. Roto Rooter started the clearing and every ten minutes raised their cost by $150 until I said "No more. Pull your line out."
