My clients were purchasing a property with an existing septic system, but the seller was unable to provide any meaningful information about its condition or layout. John, the owner of Sbragia Septic Service, personally answered our call and promptly scheduled the inspection. During the initial inspection, John had to dig down 2' in compact gravel to access heavy concrete access covers. Once uncovered, he pumped the holding tanks and snaked a video camera through the system. The video system was clear, showing multiple significant issues, including failed baffle walls, a broken outlet pipe leading to the first distribution box that had been improperly installed, and a failed first distribution box that prevented him from further completing the inspection. When John returned the following week to begin the repairs, the scope of the project became significantly larger. He had to cut through asphalt that had been laid directly over the outlet pipe and one distribution box. As the work progressed, he uncovered six additional distribution boxes, one of which had completely failed. He also found several leach lines clogged with roots and encountered multiple water lines that had been installed along the septic system that were broken during the excavation process. Despite the unexpected challenges, John and his crew worked tirelessly until 8:00 PM that evening to complete the repairs. They came fully equipped, sourced the necessary replacement parts for an older septic system, and handled every obstacle with professionalism, expertise, and determination. The short review is this: Martin is a wizard! He sucked a 2 lb. Piece of metal out of my main line…read morewith a shop vac, saving me thousands of dollars in repair costs! The details: I called Martin after a clog removal by another company went sideways (probably the topic of a no star review in the future). The first company identified where the problem was, but also caused a spill of sewage inside the house, then quoted me $5k to dig up the pipe and really fix the problem. To no one's surprise, I wasn't happy. So I called AHJ for a second opinion, and Martin answered the call. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, asking me detailed questions about the problem, and explaining my options (the other company did none of that). He made no guarantees, but said he thought he could solve the problem, so I asked him to have a look. He was at my house within 3 hours. The line had two objects stuck inside, causing backups. Martin worked to jet out one of the objects out, then used a camera to inspect the entire 80 ft. length of the pipe. The second object was still there, though, and it looked like digging was the only option. However, this is where the real magic happened! The second object was about 12 ft from the clean out, and it was not budging. Martin, however, thinks outside the box. He got out a large shop vac and stuffed the hose down the line. With the help of his camera he aligned the end of the hose with the obstruction and started up the vacuum. It took a while and was not easy work, but Martin eventually pulled out a 8" long, 2 lb. solid steel spring! That's no exaggeration (How that got in there I'll never know). It was Amazing! He also documented everything with his camera and thoroughly explained everything that we could see. So, I now know all about the good, and the bad, of my main sewer line, should any future problem arise. Thank you, Martin, for the exceptional service!

A&S Plumbing finally contacted me after I filed complaints with the BBB and the Contractor Board…read more They sent someone out to fix the outstanding issues 1. instead of disconnecting water from the ADU they disconnected the faucet in the backyard 2. although they said they fixed the shower, there was only a dribble of lukewarm water from the shower head and the faucet. After he left, I found the water in the kitchen and bathroom looks like the attached picture - so full of some kind of sediment you can't see through it, picture attached. I can't drink water in my own home until I have someone else come and fix this properly. A&S Plumbing doesn't check their work. When they disconnected the water to what they thought was the ADU, they never checked. When he returned to fix it he said 'oh the plumbing goes underground.' What else would it do, I wonder. He also said he opened the valve in the shower so it would get more hot water. It appears that was not the problem or solution, however per the usual routine, A&S Plumbing would prefer to do a quick and dirty fix instead of spending the time to actually resolve the issue. I suspect the valve should have been replaced but it's quicker and cheaper for them to 'adjust' it. Initially the owner came out to fix the immediate problem and bid on the job. He did a great job and obviously knows what he's doing. But he never returned to work on the job or to inspect it. The team clearly is not of the same caliber. After the first round of work, I found the pipe under the kitchen sink was leaking and even I could see the pipe hadn't been attached correctly. Whoever did this would know it wasn't right but just left it. Unqualified, careless, uncommunicative and unconcerned about their work and their clients. I would never use them again and would strongly discourage anyone else from doing so.

My kitchen sink was clogged for about 1 week since having a 75ft snake through a promotional…read moreplumbing service (not disclosing what company lol) did not work (it had stopped maybe 50ft in and while being retracted, lots of black sludge flew out). During that time, I had broken some copper fitting pipe parts underneath the sink so I did not put them back together to make sure it worked. Luckily, things happened for a reason so I bought new hard plastic pipes to replace everything but water was still slowly flowing out of my dual kitchen sink. I remembered the person who did the snake mentioned it might be time to get a new mainline pipe which meant breaking the walls and slab since I don't have a crawl space equating to 15-20K or an epoxy pipe lining to make it good as new again for 8K; I have no money for any of that so I googled "best ways to unclog a kitchen sink if 75ft snake fails" and was recommended hydro-jetting from AI. I then searched hydro-jetting Livermore and was recommended Diablo Hydro-Jetting immediately on my mobile phone where I was able to view both their website and Yelp reviews before calling 925-277-0200 on a Sunday evening. Fortunately, Jeff answered my call even while eating dinner who reassured me that he was 100% sure that my kitchen sink can be unclogged since they can blast it up to 500ft and if there were to be any complications that the competitive pricing comes with the drain inspection camera as needed. I truly appreciate Jeff's Team; Jose and Alex for taking on this difficult task. Jose was hydro-jetting my kitchen sink while communicating with Alex who was controlling the unit by the van. Initially, Jose and I feared that the black sludge would appear since pushing water with water and it was in fact what had happened where it was caught in a big metal container underneath the kitchen sink. Jose immediate told Alex to turn off the unit and requested to get the portable compact hydro-jet vac to clean out the container before resetting then restarting a 2nd time from the top with the vac on to catch everything as it goes. Then with some luck, we were able to hear the water flowing after it was unclogged, the sound of success! Jose then proceeded to check my cleanout area which was located outside of my house, opened it and made sure that the same sound we heard in the kitchen was heard there as well. And to ensure that my kitchen pipes were clean, Jose went ahead and did the hydro-jetting a couple more times just in case and even had Alex bring cleaning solutions to help wipe away some black sludge that flew to the side of the cabinet wall. The whole process took about 1hr and the invoice has a limited 90day service warranty guaranteeing against future clogs from reoccurring. This was the best investment I made highly recommended and I am very grateful for Jeff, Jose and Alex; they never upsold me anything and they truly are professionals in the field strictly hydro-jetting and nothing else, established in 1994 with over 32yrs of experience! Even though his schedule was already full that day, Don made the time to come out between appointments and quickly fixed the issue. When I asked what the emergency visit would cost, he simply said, "Don't worry about it--just call us to schedule your water heater service."
