Everything was fast, nobody else was there so right as I got out of my car he literally shoved the paper in my face to sign, didn't talk to me about the pricing or procedure or ask how I was doing (basic customer service question everyone should ask at least) so the smog went well, I came out told him I had he coupon which he told me they had a strict rule that it must be shown before I sign (which I did read) and I told him I just thought I would give it a try and I told him "when people come maybe give them some time to get their stuff out because you kinda just shoved the paper in my face" and he showed me the papers that people printed out saying "well these people gave them to me right away." with attitude and gave me 10 dollars off, which was fine. But time wasn't the issue for this visit which is why I'll give 3 stars. I think overall i just had a problem with the customer service I got. read more

I came here to smog my blazer. I had a small conversation with the guy about a sensor that's on on my scanner but it should pass smog. The guy comes back says it didn't pass an that I need to replace a part Bring it back an he'll charge half price to resmog I hav been working on cars for some years now an I work at a auto shop ik that I don't need to replace anything. I tell him this an we get into a small argument he tells me to replace the part bring it back n he'll smog again "no charge" I left drove around came back 20 min later (REPLACED NOTHING) he checks my blazer guess what it passes...I was upset I tell him all of a sudden it passes ur trying to rip people off speaking my own opinion then he keeps my car keys an says I change my mind I'm charging u now full price $40 I refuse to pay an the cops were called..my opinion is if ur a woman they will assume that u don't kno crap about cars an they will tell u anything that's wrong an some woman don't kno so they will pay extra stuff that doesn't need to b fixed... I paid $29 to smog my car but to resmog it an to get my keys back I had to pay $40 this guy is ridiculous an I'm going to sue him. read more

After going to Smogmaster for almost 10 years, was told their new machines are unable to read 1 out of 15 or so vehicles for some reason. Pulled my truck out of their bay, didn't charge me, and told me to try another place with older smog machines. I then chose Allstar Smog. I have noticed their garage is always empty in the middle of the day and the parkinglot is always empty so I knew I would be in and out. The guy there (Singh) practically ran out to my truck asking if I needed a smog. They get very little business. I was happy to be helping him out. After about 10 minutes Singh comes and asks me if my small single cab, short bed, 2wd pick up truck is a 1500 or 2500? Having never seen a 2500 small pickup in my life, this was a huge red flag. I was speechless. He then sees my confused look on my face and says "nevermind" and he and the other technition disapeered out back behind the shop for about 5 minutes. The shop was empty and dead silent. I was starting to think they left. Then, they came back into the garage and pretended to smog my truck for about 10 more mins.( Looking at the computer, writing things down, reving my engine). Then after pulling my truck out and waving me over, Singh says "you are all done $49.75" I handed him my credit card and he swiped it through the card reader. As soon as it said APPROVED, he tells me my truck would not read on his machine so he could not pass me or fail me and then hands me my blank receipt with only a charge for a smog on it. Pass, fail, and retest boxes all left blank and tells me he still did a full diagnostics on it. Thats why he charged me. Bottom of receipt also states that this shop does not do diagnostics and is smog only. I laughed in his face and went straight to my bank and showed them my blank receipt, and proof that nothing had been sent to the dmv because nothing was done reguarding a smog test. They quickly started a claim and my account was refunded within 24 hours. Usually takes about a week they said, but there was nothing to investigate. The shop is obviously struggling. I took my truck to Electric Labs the very next day. Besides not being able to find a parking spot because they do such good work, my truck read fine on their older style smog machine and my truck passed smog with flying colors. It cost a little more but well worth the professionalism and knowledge of this world and how it works. With any luck, Allstar Smog will be out of business soon. The ignorance has to stop. read more
