George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

When I got back from my trip I called Preferred Comfort and he cleaned and assessed both of my furnaces and water heater and gave a clear explanation of the status and recommend actions. Other companies were a bit cheaper with coupons, but Elite had a $99 special and I wanted to go with them, since they installed the unit. The first time the technician (Steve) came out, he wasn't able to do anything due to my building's roof drain being clogged and the roof was basically flooded. He sent me a video so I was able to send it to our maintenance people and have them come fix that issue. After the roof was no longer a swimming pool, Steve came back out a week later and presumably did everything that was needed -- all seems to be working well, and he answered a couple of my questions and gave me an estimate for an ambient kit in case I want to run the unit when it's below 60 degrees outside (my condo gets really hot and retains heat). Overall, great customer service, super nice people. I'll continue to use them for my AC needs.

Nick replied quickly when I asked about getting my microwave repaired. At 16 years old, he recommended replacing it, and helped me ensure the one I bought from Lowes was the correct make and model. The tech that came out texted me when he was an hour out, which was a helpful amount of time because it narrowed the window but not by so much that if I had been busy I wouldn't have been able to break and let him in the house. Did a great (quick) job with install and cleaned up the kitchen area / took the old appliance out of the building after. Response was extremely prompt. Had a few hiccups that weren't their fault. Replacement of a 1996 A/C unit and provided options. Took about 7 hours to get the new unit in but the new unit is exactly per recommendation (slightly higher tonnage, definitely higher SEER, significantly quieter), price was extremely fair and they went above and beyond with things like updated connections and base. After at least 8 complete failures of contractors these guys were a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended
