Decided to give these guys a try so called them and was able to make a same day appointment. Robert texted ahead of time and arrived within the arrival window. He was very nice, answered all my questions, and fixed 1/4 problems we had. One other issue he says could not be fixed and another he could not find a problem to fix. For the last problem, he said he to see if he could get the part and that he would get back to me. If he made an effort to reach out I missed it and as far as I know he never followed up. Since I was surprised that a special part was needed, I went out to get my own part and will try to fix it myself later. He did fix the main issue we called him out for. He also gave good advice when it came to installing a new shower valve. Since there was no way to access where the valve was without cutting the tile, the waterproofing would have been compromised. So according to him, it would be best to either redo the shower or we would have to use a bigger plate than the one that came with our shower valve to cover the big hole in the front in order to make space to work on the valve. Even though in the end we didn't touch the shower, it was mainly because of Ruslan's detailed explanation of what the work would entail.

I sent Doug a message on Yelp, and he responded quickly with what turned out to be the correct diagnosis: biofilm buildup in the sink's overflow area. Even more impressive, he told me it was something I could probably fix myself. He offered to talk with me by phone and patiently explained what was going on, which I really appreciated because I honestly didn't even understand how that part of the sink worked. In the end, I was able to fix the problem myself with a flexible brush and a little bleach- less than $10 total. Doug could easily have come out and charged me, but instead he gave me honest, expert advice and helped me avoid a huge unnecessary expense.
