Man is it hard to pick the Korean spot in Atlanta. It is absolutely crazy, in the same strip mall, I think there was a total of four spots, Korean is everywhere. So, the question has to be asked, how do I decide where to go when I have the itch? AYCE - Check Yelp Ratings - Check Pictures of meats - Check So I landed here based on the great Yelp reviews. The place is a little different than I am used to. First off, it is charcoal grill. Second off, the grill is tiny, about half the size of the grills that I am used too and lastly, and this is a big WTF? They would not let me cook my meat. I am so confused. I thought that was the point, but the dude that was serving me, just walked up to me, took the tongs and scissors out of my hand and took over ---- actually, the old lady did the same. I was like WTF? I am so confused. On top of that, they would only let me, or they would only cook ONE meat at a time. I am not Korean, I am not a Korean BBQ expert, BUT I have been to a ton of AYCE Korean BBQ and THIS WAS A FIRST. Whatever, it was good food, the service was friendly and fast. The pictures are pretty accurate, so I did not post any. I am not sure if I will be back, just because there are so many spots, I like to explore. Edit- Gavin, the owner send me a message and I get it, he posted the explanation why the servers help to cook. It makes sense. The server also said that it gets crazy busy and it is hard to get to all tables and help cook, but since I was there a little after the lunch crowd, it was easier to help. Meat quality was good but nothing overly impressive. For the price point you pay for this it's definitely worth the try. You get a lot of side dishes with your food and the servers cut up your meats for you. The selection and quality for the price is great here; however, I am not a fan of the two hour rule. We had a group of six and was seated at one table. Due to how slow the service was, we ran out of time according to them and none of us was full. The restaurant took 15-20 minutes to get coals for our table grill and they counted that amount of time we waited into the two hours. They also included the amount of time we sat at the table just waiting for the servers to come back with meat. At a point, the quantity they brought out per order was smaller too. We ordered two orders of brisket and it only seemed like one. I can definitely see how they try to take up as much of your time as possible. If I were to go here again, I would try to go with a smaller group or a bigger group, enough to get a second table. It felt unreasonable that our group of six had to deal with the two hour rule while having slow service, only one grill, and meat that took time to grill. At least with the other charcoal places like 678 , 770, or 9292, you don't have to deal with a rushed two hour limit because they know how long the process (getting coals, bringing food out, cooking the food, etc) can be. Recently new KBBQ that popped up in the Gwinnett Area. Quality of the food is very good. Service is amazing. They will usually do the cooking for you, so you can have another meat cooking while you eat your recently cooked meat. This is by far the best value for all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. The quality of the meat is very good. Not quite as good as the more upscale places like 9292 or Breakers, but certainly better than some of the more mainstream places that have slacked (I'm looking at you, Iron Guys). One key features is that the all-you-can-eat option, which is only $24.99 for dinner, has 6 different beef options. This is quite unusual, as you usually only have 1 beef option, if at all, for anything under $30 per person. In addition, as a matter of personal taste, I enjoy the banchan here more than most other places. Not because of the quantity of selections, but I like the kimchi here more than any other Korean restaurant in Atlanta. This is my go-to KBBQ place in Atlanta. Came here with my brother and boyfriend on a Saturday night around 7:30pm. The wait time they estimated was 15-20 minutes, which ended up being 30 minutes or so. The wait was pretty much expected, tho. TABLE SERVICE -- - The server turned on our grill on high for 10-15 minutes while there wasn't even a grill on top to pre-heat. Needless to say we were sweating and feeling really stuffy before our first round even came out. The fan/vent didn't even sound like it was working properly. - We had to press the button for someone to come over to take our first order. The manager came over to take our order since everyone was apparently preoccupied. - Even though the manager took our order, it took forever for it to be brought out to our table. The servers checked in with us a couple of times, but all we could tell them was that we were still waiting for our food. To the point where even the manager came by and even seemed frustrated with the service. - We sat next to another party of three (that was waiting with us earlier), and it looked like they were already several rounds ahead. - When we finally finished our first round (brisket), we had to use the button to order the second round. We ordered bulgogi, and I also mentioned to the server that we wanted thin pork belly afterward (so we wouldn't have to wait so long). We had a mix of the manager and several servers coming by about 4-5 times asking whether we got our food while waiting for the bulgogi. - When we finally finished the bulgogi, I realized nobody was coming over with thin pork belly or to take our third order. At this point we were tired of the wait and hot, so we decided to leave, still hungry. - Ironically, the fastest request we got delivered to the table was the check. FWIW, I've worked and managed in the restaurant industry for several years, so usually, I can empathize and overlook any turbulence in service if a place is in the weeds. In this case, we decided to leave after ordering only two rounds of meat over the course of an hour and a half. By the time we left, it was 9:30-9:45pm. FOOD -- - Banchan: Pretty good! I really liked the salad, but due to the long wait times, it wilted a lot so it wasn't as crunchy. - Brisket: This is my favorite in general. I wish I was able to have more of this. - Beef Bulgogi: I liked the marinade, it wasn't too sweet. - Cheesy corn: Buttery. Cheesy. Out of this whole meal, this didn't disappoint. - Steamed egg: my least favorite, IMO. I think I just prefer the egg that's usually cooked in the grill more. Twas delicious! When we got here, we had to wait approximately 25 minutes. When we sat down we were given different condiments. We ordered ALL of the meats. My favorite being the marinated steak (#5.) The spicy brisket was divine too. And that soup!!!! Woweeee. I also ordered the scorched rice, which wasn't a favorite of mine. It's rice that I guess, is on the bottom of the pan, that's scraped off and put in water for you. The service was good. We are a thirsty bunch, so we had to constantly ask for water refills. When my friends and I sat on our table, we were waiting for our pan more than 30 min. The problem was that no one explained why the pan was not ready. Also, They only care about people who do not know about Korean bbq well. Only one server(He was even not our server) cooked the meat for us, and other servers never helped us to cook meat. Servers just looked and passed our table!!!!!. Second, I came from Cal. There is the same name restaurant in Cal. However, meat quality and style are totally different. If you cannot believe, you must visit All that BBQ in Cal which is way better than this place. Third, they do not care for customers. I'm not sure he is a manager or not, so I just say them as servers. Servers were talking and made noise themselves, and drinking something on the hallway(Walking and talking together). You could curious that they are working or playing. Fourth, the Servers' skill and sense were not good. Our pan was burned, but our server just put meat on the BURNED PAN. Well What Can I say. This Korean bbq just opened and for those who cannot read hangul you will have a hard time distinguishing this from the other korean bbq on the left side of the shopping center. All That Korean BBQ is also called Gogiya ( meats in korean). I have tried every single korean bbq in Gwinnett and in New York, and I got to say they are definitely my favorites after Dragon BBQ and Star Daepo closed down. The service was slow because they were packed with 2 servers and 1 host serving and cooking meats for 16 tables. Unlike other korean bbq in Duluth, this place has a 2 hour limit even though they said it's AYCE. Because of the slower service maybe because it was a Sunday and the fact that I am taking a deuce from the food I ate yesterday I took off 1 star. The two male servers as well as the host are extremely nice and apologetic. Interior Design: you can tell the inside of the restaurant isn't as aesthetically appeasing to the eyes as the more modern korean bbq in the area but i'm here to eat not pay the extra $5 to $10 to enjoy a stainless wall. Overall if you guys are sad the with closures of Star Daepo and Dragon BBQ this is a good place to try. They don't bring out the corn cheese and soup automatically like the other two places so you have to request for it. Sauces and side dishes were filled promptly. The vent wasn't working properly so most customers were suffocating from the charcoal grills. Wait time: I came in and had to wait 30 minutes pretty usual for a korean bbq. Suggest u can either go to Mozart Cafe or Hmart to pass your time. I don't know if it's me or everyone has the same experience. Before you eat korean bbq, esp if u been starving and haven't eaten them for a long time, you crave for the meats and the idea of AYCE. Afterwards, i'm on the toilet with some of the worst ( i know yelp will filter this word out), I have had in months. Usually i go to these places once a week, but after I met my so who doesn't like these places I try my best to accommodate what she likes coz that's what i call love. For the same reasons she dislikes AYCE places, i really regretted of not listening to her advice. But korean bbq is one of those things where after a long time and seeing people around you eat it you also want to put your chopsticks into the grill. The aftermath of it is either a garlicky breath or what you normally experience after drinking a nice probiotic drink! So yea, y'all let me know if y'all feel constipated or everything normal after you eat korean bbq. that will be great since i'm curious. It was dry and you can taste the quality is bad too. If you want better quality of meats, go to 678, kfactory, and breakers. At least their meat quality is good and not dry. They didn't even have ssamjang which is a staple in kbbq. 2hr limit isn't bad but if u have more than 2. Then that 2 hrs is up really quickly. This place was not designed very well, so the grills get a little out of hand at times and it becomes verrryyyy hot inside. A new hidden gem in Suwanee - I was really happy I stopped in on the way to an event in Dacula. It is definitely worth the drive if you're not from the area (like me) and I am looking forward to going back. Very fresh food and excellent friendly service. If you are ordering off the all-you-can-eat menu, I would recommend requesting small portions of each so you can try more items during your meal. I was happy to see the variety of options in both the lunch and dinner menus, particularly the beef options that are not normally seen at other restaurants. I've been here a couple of times and the first few times service was great and the staff was friendly. The last time I came here with my mom and two nieces who are under 6 years old. We got the Korean bbq and asked for two bowls of rice for kids since they would not be eating the Korean bbq. My niece wanted to try one tiny piece of beef and our server quickly ran to our table and started asking us if she was eating the meat... it was very strange and it just seemed like they were pissed that we weren't paying 29 or whatever the fee is for her. However, and this this might be the case because the place has not been open that long, but things seemed very unorganized. They did not seem understaffed, but I might be wrong about this. It's a small restaurant and there were 4 people. We were confused because all 4 staff members tended to it table. This resulted in confusion. We sat and waited over 10 minutes between orders of meat. We had to ask several times for refills on water. No one refilled the side dishes. No one introduced themselves to us. There certainly needs improve the on the above issues. Love this KBBQ spot and in my opinion, it is very much worth the drive. I am very pleased with the quality of meat and it's customer service. They ventilation here is pretty darn good and I appreciate that the servers go around and cook the meat for you at the table. A huge fan of their cheesy corn and appreciate that it is part of the unlimited AYCE menu. They don't have my favorite side dish, the thin slices of circular radishes but dig their other options and sauces are a perfect compliment to the different meats. I love the marinated rib eye, top sirloin and typically I don't like beef brisket but I like theirs. Yes this place is all the way up in Suwanee off of exit 111 in the same shopping center as Umaido but it's my new favorite spot to introduce KBBQ to my friends. If Yelp allowed me to give negative zero scores, this would be the one. My family and I researched kbbq restaurants with excellent ratings and landed on All That to celebrate Mother's Day. We started out calling ahead to ask about the wait and was told there wasn't one by a young man who then abruptly hung up. That should have been our sign to go elsewhere. When we arrived, we were asked to wait 10-15 minutes. Reasonable and understandable given the Mothers Day crowd and time it takes to clear tables for bbq. Once we were seated, the waitress was no nonsense about getting us water, ban Chan and other sides. It took approximately 10-15 minutes for her to bring meat out -after we finished each of the servings which clearly made it impossible to order many of the selections. Additionally, they would not allow us to turn the meat which led many of the cuts to get burned since our waitress was too busy attending to the larger Korean family in front of us. Now given the unequal treatment, I must divulge that I am Korean American adoptee with an African American husband and biracial children. As we sat waiting on only the third order of meat, our waitress let us know this would be the last call since we were up against our two hour limit. This was clearly not the case since the family.in front of us was seated before we arrived or sat down at the table. When the waitress was called out about this, she denied it and said they arrived after us. My husband requested to speak to the manager. The "manager" was the same young man who hung up on us earlier and was likely the better English speaking host. He acknowledged the mistake and said he would speak to her (lip service). I am not immune to Korean cultural lack of hospitality to "foreigners" or people of color but given this restaurant's reviews, did not expect it here. Also, the ventilation was awful, cuts of marinated protein, lacked flavor, and ban Chan - average. Highly disappointed and would definitely not recommend to any families of mixed heritage or color to ever come to this restaurant. read more
