Communication is so important with customers. It really sucks when you walk in the door of a shop or restaurant and the first thing that happens is someone yells at you not to do something. That's what happened to me today. I had to quickly pick up one item for my dog and, as is the case with most businesses I go to, I was hoping to pull in my bike for a quick second - It's not like this store doesn't have any room to allow a person to put a bike up for two or three minutes. However, Even before I was able to get the door open, some blond chick in the store screeched at me: "no bikes in the store!" Clearly that is store policy, but the way she did it made it so that I don't ever care to go to this place again. I don't have a car so it's hard for me to get around, but I guarantee that I will go out of my way to avoid this store again because of the negativity I received today. Sure, they don't allow bikes in the store, but she could've walked up to me and politely asked me if I would park the bike outside and the policy is to not allow bikes in the store. Instead, she screeched at me from her counter across the store. That is really embarrassing and shaming. Perhaps she's not being paid enough to try to be polite to customers, but you can guarantee that they will not see my face at that store again. read more

My go-to pet store in Seattle. The selection for cats is spot on! My kittens love natural pet pantry for raw and ziwi for canned, both of which are hard to find. They give you sample treats with each purchase, which is always a plus. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly! Return policy is flexible. You don't need to bring a receipt as long as you have a number registered with them. Doesn't cost any money to register either. They have their own parking lot with lots of available space. read more

We went in two different times as our dog was having anxiety issues due to a move. Amy helped us both times and was so fantastic. Gave the pup lots of treats and was so kind and patient to listen and give us multiple options. Even gave us samples to try for a few days before purchasing. I can't speak highly enough of ATB Wallingford. I've been coming here for over 1.5 years now. Chewy insists we go to ATB every day! No exceptions! When we were gone for a few days this winter (Chewy had surgery), the staff inquired where we were and showered her with love and treats when we were able to get back in. When I lost my kitty during COVID, the staff gave me a card with kind messages. We always remember how people make us feel! The team here made us feel truly cared for. So from me and Chewy, thank you to Valerie, Daisy, Domini, Nicole, Sel and their previous manager, Jess for being welcoming, kind, helpful and providing excellent customer service! I wish I could give 4.5. Pretty great stock, prices on treats and consumables are fairly competitive against the online and big-box guys. Loved the rewards program goody bag! They have their own brand for treats, some of which are even sourced locally. My pup goes nuts for the beef cheek chews and the freeze dried beef liver. Depending on who's on duty you may get someone super engaged or not so much, but no matter what everyone has been kind and helpful! This place is my go-to, but they don't stock some of the big, bulky items. If you want a large selection of crates, or something like a Gamma Vittles Vault, then you'll need to buy from They-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. read more

Update: I just want to say that since making this post I was contacted my management to apologize and that they said they would use my feedback as a learning opportunity for staff. I'm pleased with the response and will continue to shop here. I shop here regularly because it's close to my house and I care about supporting local and buying products with an ethical supply chain. When it comes to cat food I know that the industry is overwhelmingly sourced from unsustainable animal products from confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs), and fisheries that are being depleted at alarming rates. I buy from All the Best because I want to vote with my dollar and make the slightest difference I can where I can. That being said, I have found the customer service at this location to be a little unwelcoming. In addition to caring about the quality of the products I buy, I obviously care about taking care of my pet and her health. That is why I do not appreciate receiving judgement and criticism when I buy dry food here. I understand that cats need water from their food and believe me I try to get her to eat wet food. I give her some every day even though a portion of it goes to waste. I buy the Kiwi Kitchens brand of wet food because it seems to be the highest quality wet food as far as sourcing and ingredients. For the dry food, I buy Orijen brand and my cat loves it. It clearly states on the front of the package, "Biologically Appropriate Cat Food" and "Made with fresh, whole, wild & sustainably caught fish." That's why it's confusing to be told by employees that cats shouldn't be given dry food when the store sells nice brands like Orijen. I appreciate the information that is shared at the store to inform my decisions, but I just don't understand why an employee would discourage customers from buying products. I can't imagine that the owners of the business condone that kind of customer service experience, and I highly doubt it represents their level of knowledge and the time spent considering their selection of products. I hope that a reminder is sent out to the stores to be more considerate with their personal feelings. Yes, inform customers that wet food is a good source of water for cats. Tell them that when cats go to drink water they're already dehydrated. I'm so glad I know all that (Although I learned it at Mud Bay!) but please don't discourage customers from buying the products you sell. At that point you shouldn't carry them, and if employees are so concerned they should follow the chain of command. read more

I've been shopping at All The Best stores since I moved to Seattle 10 years ago and I can't say enough good things -- I appreciate their selection, the good balance between cat & dog products, and the overall sense of care and kindness at their stores. I feel particularly grateful to the wonderful folks who work at their Wallingford location. I have a 20-year-old cat, and when one of the foods that he will reliably eat was going to be unavailable from the manufacturer for a while, the store manager gave me a heads up about it, and then called around to all of their stores to gather the remaining supply so that I could stock up before it disappeared off the shelves. She went above and beyond for us. And we ended up with enough food to get him through until the product was re-issued. There's real care and attention here. Highly recommended! read more
