There is a large supply and selection of mostly food, treats and other chewables but also a nice selection of toys and pet accessories. What I like and also grabbed on my last visit are the large sized Braised beef hide free chewables. These come in all different sizes and flavors including chicken, venison, duck and more. The more you buy; you can get slight discounts which is nice. Because of it was my 'first visit' I was treated to a hedgehog chew toy by outward bound! A gent I chatted with said it lasted his dog several months, so it sounds like quality, which we all like. Along with this, it's just nice to support a local business and though I've not yet met Paul (The owner) I've heard many nice things about him and as mentioned, each visit the staff are very friendly and helpful. When I walked in the woman working, was extremely friendly, and so was the groomer who came out to get my dog. We double checked what I wanted for the grooming session and I came back in an hour to find that, his butt was trimmed. I had not asked for a trim, as this would have been covered in our discussion before I dropped off my dog. The groomer was very proud of the fact that she had taken artistic freedom to trim my dogs butt because she thought that was a good look. Im sorry but It is not her dog, he is my dog and it looks ridiculous. when I ask just for a bath I'm not wanting a bath and a trim. Despite the store being well put together and the staff friendly, I really didn't appreciate how the groomer decided what she was going to do to my dog when she has explicit instructions on what to do.

There always seems to be a new excuse. Today's experience was the final straw. We had booked a bath, brushing, paw pad trim, and sanitary trim. After we arrived, we were told the groomer assigned to us couldn't complete the service because our dog's fur was "compacted" (not matted) and we'd have to reschedule with someone else. What didn't make sense is that the same groomer was apparently able to do the sanitary trim but somehow couldn't trim any other part of his body because of his coat. At this point, it feels like they look for reasons to avoid completing appointments. Every time we bring in our large dog, the staff seem visibly frustrated before the appointment even begins. If your salon isn't equipped or willing to work with large breeds, just be upfront about it instead of repeatedly canceling or making excuses. The staff haven't been welcoming, the salon appears consistently overbooked, and the customer experience has been incredibly disappointing. I can't recommend this location for grooming.

First off, I have never walked in the door without being greeted with a huge smile and hearty hello by one of the staff members. I always feel so welcome and when I have my dogs with me they are usually doted over and made to feel like the most special dog that walked into the store that day. Additionally, I have had multiple, LONG, conversations with many different staff members regarding a number of different, meaningful topics - food, behavior, toys, etc. The knowledge the staff have, and the fact that they go above and beyond just to help their customers out is a big testament to why I feel so committed to spending my doggie dollars at Mud Bay. They really know A LOT and really care A LOT about making sure you're making the best choice for your animals. They might be a little expensive, but I would much rather walk into a nicely lit, well decorated, invested-employee establishment and feel like my dogs are truly cared for than a large corporation that barely talk to you, and don't know nearly as much. I'll continue to shop at Mud Bay for all my pups needs.
