Sorry but birds and puppies do not belong together, especially how close they are in this store...that's asking for parasite transmission. The woman (owner I think) clearly doesn't enjoy having this business and on top of that, doesn't seem to know much about anything. I would love to own a toucan if I could, but one that has been socialized properly and not one that just sits in a cage all day long that isn't even big enough for it. I saw a post online regarding baby birds. I called and stop by. The store is very dark. This fat Armenian guy sat behind the counter with a very skinny unfriendly wife. Both of them are running the business. He showed me the bird I wanted. Cute, small baby. I bought him but couldn't take him home till it was weaned. His wife was rude. She seams stress because she needs to hand feed every single baby 6x a day! I had a conversation with the guy. He said he's an bird expert and bird lover. Owning birds since over 20 years. He has a big house with a big yard where all his birds are in a aviary. So he claimed! Other babies were stack on top of each other in plasic rubbermaid bins. A week later I brought the other half of payment and got my bird. They put him in a little box. I park behind the store. I was about to get into my car and drive home happy with my new baby. But something pull me to the open backdoor. I peep inside to take a look. I was shocked and felt so sad and guilty. Cages above cages stacking on top of each other till the ceiling. And in all these cages were breeding boxes. These breeder birds never seen the sun light or natural light their whole life. They are in the dark room for years to breed and give this guy babies so he can sell them. And if they don't produce babies anymore he re-sells them to a different breeder. Horrible conditions. Horrible human. My friend got a macaw from him. This macaw was psychological stress and wouldn't let anyone touch or handle him. He only got the macaw out of pity to safe him from this store. EXTREMELY horrible experience! I should have listened to all the negative reviews here but I decided to give the store a chance. They are cheaper than most bird stores but the owners are terrible people and the birds live in horrible conditions. First, when I called the owners today to ask if they had conures for sale, they told me that the had only one left. When my family and I made a trip to the store the same day, the guy behind the counter pulled out two baby conures that were still being weened and were not ready for purchase yet. We wondered why he would lie to us about that so that was the first red flag. Second, he treated my family and I like we were criminals who were about to steal the birds when we wanted to have a look at them. When we told him that he was coming off very rude, he promptly started yelling at us and told us to get out of his store and that he wasn't going to sell anything to us. We weren't even there for one minute and we were already being kicked out!! I have never in my life experienced such rude service. Third, The store is tiny and the birds were all cramped into an area that was about the size of a closet. I would NEVER consider buying any of the birds from this shop. They look like they are suffering in such tiny spaces with no sunlight or fresh air. I'm certain most of them already have health problems. I really worry for those birds and I'm wondering how these crooks are still in business. I wish the animal humane service would shut them down. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid this store yelpers! You will be wasting your time and your money. read more

Entering this shop, you are greeted by, Art and his lovely wife and Veterinarian, Noune. They hand-raise their Parrots and Cockatoos! Each bird is healthy, well cared for and tame. It is a treat to meet such compassionate people, doing what they love most in life, which is clearly about giving animals a loving environment and enriching their lives with tender care. Not a good set up. I feel bad for the owner, lots of fish kept in 10 gallon tanks that must be a major pain to maintain. Not very good looking stock and nobody else was in the store...They had African Gray Parrots in the back. The whole thing left me feeling sad. read more

Neglectful conditions at this bird store! There are macaws in cages that are too small, with dirty water and food dishes, as well as poor nutritional conditions where birds are being fed poorly and without care for their nutritional needs. Several of the birds are visibly stressed. They cannot survive like this -- they sell good bird food (Roudybush pellets and others, as well as toys) but they don't feed their own birds the good stuff, or give them toys to chew on or play with. Birds are intelligent and emotional creatures; without a play outlet to keep them stimulated and exercised they can become seriously ill and psychologically damaged. There was a green Conure, in a tiny cage that was fit for finches, on the floor under a stack of three larger cages. You would have had to lay on the floor to see him because his cage was pushed in under the larger cages. All he had was a single perch, a bowl of stale sunflower seeds and some yellow water; no toys, no natural light, and nothing but a 8x16 inch view of feet all day. All I could think about all night after I went home was how he's going to sit there and slowly go insane. It woke me up at 5 the following morning thinking about that poor Conure. I want to go back and buy him, tiny cage and all, so I can toss the cage so they can't just stuff another poor bird in it. Why do they stack the bigger cages on top of the smaller cages? Why don't they at least put the smaller cages on the bigger ones so they all can have some light? And there are NO toys in any of the cages, most of the cages only have just a single perch -- even in the cage with two macaws. Both macaws had red flushed faces and looked like they were going to tear each other apart and were hanging off the sides of the cage and screeching. ALL of the cages only had stale sunflower seeds for food, regardless of the birds' breed or size. I wanted to buy all of the birds just so I could take all of them to the parrot sanctuary in Santa Monica. I want to start a GoFundMe page and raise $100K so I can buy the store, birds and all, and give them better living quarters or give them to various parrot sanctuaries. They have all of these regulations and are closing puppy mills; are there no rules for bird breeders? There was also a stack of Rubbermaid tubs with hatchling parrots of various breeds stacked five feet high behind the back counter. Most of the tops were closed and I could see at least one baby bird contorting its neck almost completely backwards trying to get air. I'm sure it was dangerously hot in those tubs. That baby bird was in a tub at the very bottom of the stack on the floor and they were stacked 3-5 tubs high on top of it. The lady at the store was rude and standoffish. There's a big sign by the door saying "do not take photographs of anything in this store" so I'm sure people have taken photos and made complaints before. (Otherwise I would have posted a photo of that poor green Conure.) I want to tell you to stay away, but at the same time I want people to go in and complain about how these birds are being treated so they might get help. Just don't buy anything. Or if you do buy something, save at least one of those birds and take it home and give it some happy. read more

I purchased a poodle 10 years ago, the best gift I gave to myself for reals. Fortunately my poodle was born from the mother and father of the owners of the store. My poodle was smart, clean and beautiful and loyal to me and the owners of this store because he still remembered them since they raised him till he was 3 months old, my sweet past away sadly but I am so grateful that i got my baby here. read more

I was stalked by one owner on fish side and the other on the bird side. I had someone yell "no pictures!" when I pulled my phone out of my pocket. I jumped because there was someone from the otherside staring at me. The birds are SEVERELY distressed. The fish tanks are filthy. The place is not a place I would trust. This is a nice little pet store. I love birds. They had this cool cockatoo in there. Very friendly. I wish I could afford it.

I agree with the previous reviews. The set up is not good, the animals which are mainly birds and fish are crammed in to small cages and aquariums, the owners and its employees are rude, and grumpy. The prices are less expensive than other pet stores in the valley, but I would recommend you spend some more money buying healthier and happier * fish and birds, rather than buying sad, droopy animals. read more

Hey there yelpers. First off, I rarely rarely give 5 stars. So here's 4 stars for this store. You yelpers complain and complain without giving consideration to the other side of the coin. You have to understand that running a pet shop is a tough job, especially when you don't have big staff. The couple that runs this store are very nice once you get to know them. The shop is not spotless lke the major chain stores, but it's pretty well kept. Animals wil be animals and messy will always be there at every pet shop. I've seen their pets and they are in good health and good condition. If they aren't tame, they will be truthful with you. So people, give them a chance to put a loving pet in your home.I did and I'm satisfied. The great thing about the shop is that they always will have variety and friendliness. read more

The fish are kept inhumanely and unhealthy. I am a marine biologist; it's heart breaking to see the quality of the tanks. The animals show distressed behavior, the water quality is poor, and there are too many organisms in one tank. It's a very inhumane store. read more

Worst attitude and service Iv ever seen. first thing the guy says to me before Iv even walked into the bird room is "don't touch the cages!" In an aggressive tone. I smiled and said ok.. I walk into the bird room, he follows me and yells it again. My hands were in my pockets!! I replied "don't worry Iv handled birds before I know they can bite, it says it on your sign" he said "I don't care if you've handled birds don't touch!" I'm surprised this store hasn't been shut down yet with the conditions of the animals and fish they sell. They must never get inspected. Bet they aren't even licensed. But at least they admit they get their dogs from puppy mills (where animals are caged for life churning out puppies, which are often sick). The store down the street Puppy and Me charges more and lies to the customers saying their dogs are from "quality breeders." No quality breeder would ever sell their puppies to a pet store. Interesting that Evelyn M. who left a review on this page, happens to work at Puppy and Me pet store down the street (and is the daughter of the owners). She criticizes this store for keeping their birds and puppies close together. What about the giardia that is passed down to the puppies she sells? Puppy mill dogs often have giardia and pass it on to their puppies. Pet store puppies often have parvo as well from having underdeveloped immune systems and being crammed into trucks with other young puppies and transported across the country. Evelyn gives her puppies toys to play with...wow, that's the least she could do, given that they are in cages all day and night. What about her puppy's moms that are in wire cages barely big enough to turn around in? Do you think they ever get toys? Never buy a dog from a pet store. By doing so, you're contributing to animal abuse and keeping puppy mills in business. You're not saving a dog by buying one from them, you're only making room for them to get another. The cycle must stop or puppy mills will continue. And certainly don't buy any pet...fish, bird or dog from All the Fish U Can Wish. I was studying across the street from this place and decided to walk in and browse. They had a Puffer fish I wanted to send to my sister b/c she has been looking for one. The rude man behind the counter yelled at me: NO PICTURES!!! Read the signs! Fine but I am a grown woman and potential customer, you could have asked me nicely. And besides what do these people have to hide? Many parrots that are ripping out their feathers, perhaps? Or was that a celebrity fish??The conditions were o.k. but not great. I then decided I'd go in the other room and look at the birds. A woman followed me, a foot behind me, while I browsed. Did she think I was going to stick a parrot in my purse? I don't know much about fish, so I cannot agree or disagree with the other reviews. I met the owners at a bird mart. They had newly hatched parrots of all types. They were all healthy and beautiful. I went out to his shop from Chino Hills to buy an African Gray baby. I got one about 3 weeks old. It still hadn't begun growing its down feathers. I hand fed him, and he is healthy as can be. I will soon be buying a Macaw from them as well. They do a great job with birds. read more

The parrots here are sick, some look like they have beak and feather. The owners answer to this was "they are molding, you know what that mean?" I said no, but I know what molting is. It's not the season for molting, even for a late molt the alexandrines shouldn't be fluffy and gangly looking. He thought I was some poor sucker who knew nothing about birds, knew nothing about parrot illness. But I have 12 parrots, some from Perfect Parrot, etc. I asked the man for paperwork or bloodwork. His responce "what are you talking about, birds don't have paperwork, no one gives paperwork" WRONG! Go to Omars or perfect parrot, any shop that has safe loved birds will give you paperwork, telling you they are free of polyoma or beak and feather. He said he had never even heard of paperwork for parrots. He's insane, this man. The babies they have, might be okay, I didn't look at them (behind the counter) But the ones who are in the other part of the store are sick. Looking for someone to help them escape that hell. They would scream when I would walk away and just wanted someone to be around. They have no toys in the cages and feed them sunflower seeds. If they are not wild birds, sunflower seeds are like eating bacon all day long. They will not burn it off, it's very very unhealthy. Not having any toys and being locked up only causes stress and usually mental distress. They will pluck and be angry, very angry. Don't trust him, please don't. I wish it were easier to shut down these parrot shops, this one, the one on Burbank Blvd, one in Burbank on San Fernando. All HORRIBLE. Go to the Perfect Parrot, Omar's, Magnolia Bird Farm, There's one in Glendale. Buy one from someone for a lot cheaper. Feathers should be perfect and shiny. Eyes should be alert and bright. Food should be fresh, if seeds then should be safflower seeds. Toys. Droppings should be normal. Molting parrots still look normal. Molting season is usually spring. Should not be fluffy. Feathers should lay flat and Some diseases are transmitted to humans. Beak and feather is contagious, that's why I think, though some look okay in the shop, most would be sick and just not showing signs yet. I love my babies and all the parrots they have here, the owners are horrible evil people. You can save them though, Give them a new life, even if it's for a few months. Just don't bring them home if you have parrots. They need to be happy too, I just want to warn everyone because I've done this before when I had no knowledge of birds. The woman and guy who worked there have bad attitude. I believe they are from Argentina somewhere like that. But they really are miserable. The guy asked me alot of offensive remarks like why was i here ...etc. They have alot of exotic birds for sale. But they were behind the counter in super small cage incuding macaws and cockatoos. Other birds look sick..feathers missing... A rag was covered over them ( a huge cage made up of small cages )....you could barely see them. Honestly the only thing negative was the cages were small and over crowded. Some birds looks in dostressed..they probably never take them out in those super tiny cages...And the bald man and curly haired woman were beyond rude for no reason. read more

DO NOT BUY ANY PETS FROM THEM!! My first puppy came with no paper work after I paid almost $1200.00! The owner told me that the dog was pure bleed. When I insisted to have the proof paper that the dog is pure Maltese, his answer was, "I don't have one." I did not learn from this experience and I went back for more and got another dog (I am so stupid). This dog had a paper work, yet, the dog was born with a hip problem. Because of this problem, I had to rush the puppy into a emergency room and he had to have a spinal surgery! The cost? $8000.00! My other friend bought a puppy from him and the dog had a liver shunt. Yet, another friend bought a standard poodle from him and I just got a sad new from my friend only 3 days ago that the dog is dying from a leukemia!!! I liked the owner and trusted him at the beginning before all these hell broke out and referred to my friends. It was a big, big, big mistakes. I feel so bad for my friends and I truly feel that I betrayed them. Again, Do Not buy any pets from him!!! read more
