Stopped by and got some Ludwigia plants. The plant tank looked great and all the plants were super healthy! Staff was nice and overall it was a nice experience.

I am deeply saddened that I have to write this review but here we go. I have taken my golden doodle, juju, to this location numerous times with no issues. He usually gets groomed by Gus or Gio and they have done a good job. Today, Lenny was the groomer (although the appointment was made with Gio) they switched it on me last minute. After 3 hours I get a phone call from Petco and I'm thinking my dog is ready for pickup. Nope. It's Lenny telling me that juju is deeply matted on his legs and he won't be able to brush him out so my options were picking him up "matted" or shaving him. I was shocked that this phone call is happening 3 hours later when he was supposed to be ready for pickup and also that no groomer has EVER called to tell me that juju was too matted. He actually just got groomed less than one month ago and was not matted at all. Jessica, "manager" gets on the phone (after 10 minute hold time!!!!) with an attitude. No apologies no solutions, just attitude. Telling me that I shouldn't bring juju to them anymore. Ummmm excuse me? They messed up and they are trying to tell me where I can go? To make matters worst, when I picked him up. Neither Jessica or Lenny came out to show me where the so called "Matts" were. In actuality, there are ZERO matts on my dog--seems like an inexperienced or lazy groomer just couldn't do their job. I will NOT be returning to this location for the pure disrespect and lack of professionalism. Word of advice--listen to the multiple 1 start reviews and take your pet somewhere else!!

Stopped in last night to get my son his first reptile companion. The associate helping us was super helpful and patient and informative and gave me and my son the time to think through our choice. The reptiles there all look well taken care of and it was a clean store over all. I'll definitely be returning for all my pets needs. Thank you Petco!

Love Petco... Where the pets (are and) go! The Petco of Valley Glen is tucked away in the Victory Plaza of V.G. on Victory Blvd and Ethel Ave and is truly a hidden gem for your pet care, pet love, pet training and pet supply needs. While the store is pretty close to immaculate, the layout is truly something modern and simple as well as easy to navigate about and through. There is grooming and assistance on the right side of the store when you walk in as well as displays for information, programs and perks at Petco. I wanted to check out some dog beds for my roommates pups and the prices here are a little steep for those however the quality is top of the line! Once you make your way to the other side of the store you might get smitten with a few awesome animals waiting to be snatched up and given a home. It's something I'm definitely considering, but a little challenging with already three pets in the home belonging to my roommates. The blue parakeets definitely called out to me, as did a few reptile pets. Not sure I could ever be a tarantula person, but I do respect those giant arachnids. They have a lot of fish including a tank of koi fish and a wall of several different varieties. There's just about every pet accesory, food and product stocked and easy to spot. The Petco Valley Glen crew is very kind and personable and definitely enjoy their job. Hoping to stop in again soon for some treats for my roommates pets and my best friends cat I still cat sit for on occasion for the holidays.

    Amazing fish

Iris and Erica and Kim were very nice and helpful they amazing fishes and animals etc..u must go buy they specials on all koi fish and answered all my questions good

    My puppies

Signed up for pet training. Gathered up vet records and treat supplies. Spoke twice with the manager and the trainer to evaluate what my skills my puppies need. First class cancelled, and on the morning of the second class the whole class cancelled. This puts us another two weeks behind in getting some training. (Will they reinstate the class when the discount goes away? Hmmm.) We found Petco grooming classes and vet services to be equally flakey. Buyer beware.

    Grand Opening requires balloons, right?

Sally has been there for us through training, boarding, board-and-train, and daycare, and I have never once worried about leaving our dog in her hands. Her place truly feels like our dog's second home, and that kind of trust means everything. Her assistant, Sam, is also wonderful, kind, attentive, and clearly just as caring with the dogs. They also go above and beyond with enrichment and socializing, taking the dogs on walks, to dog parks, and even on beach outings. Thanks to the socialization and experiences they provide, our dog's confidence has grown so much. One of the sweetest things Sally did was throw a birthday party at daycare for our girl's first birthday and her dog friends. It was such a special memory and just shows how much love she puts into what she does. If you're looking for someone who will love your dog as much as you do, Sally is your person. I highly recommend her! Thank you Sally and Sam!

Teddy a sweet pup but struggled with anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding and was VERY sensitive to being touched and would often lash out or try to bite. We were really worried about how to help him and how to curb some of these bad habits we'd no doubt reinforced with our own behavior. When I called Brett for the initial consult, he was patient, understanding but also honest and direct about the time and effort it would take and the changes we would have to make to have a real impact. We were open to the feedback and committed to making a change in and out of our home. WOW. We've been working with Brett consistently for 3 months and Teddy is like a new dog. He is calmer, happier, more obedient, and much more confident and tolerate of being touched (especially on sensitive areas like his paws!). Our friends and family have all been shocked at the noticeable difference in Teddy's overall demeanor (happier and calmer!) and behavior. Our groomer asked us what had changed as he was so much calmer and happier to deal with. I want to be clear this is no "magic pill" we put in the work but with Brett's guidance and structure, we cannot believe the results. Teddy is of course still a work in progress and we have more work to do, but seeing the progress he's made in such a short amount of time with Brett's thoughtful approach has been so exciting. Brett truly understands dogs and their psychology and this makes him a true expert. Just know that part of the training process is training your pup but also training yourself to adjust your own behaviors to create a positive outcome long term for everyone. We cannot recommend Brett enough!!!

When I hired Brett, I'll admit I fought him along the way on some of the training protocols--but in the end, he was correct about EVERYTHING. The most vital thing for difficult or frustrated dog owners to understand is that Brett's training isn't just about fixing the dog; it is primarily about training YOU, the owner. He provides an exceptional structure and leadership framework, but it only works if you are willing to check your own habits, get on board, and consistently follow through as a pack leader. His methods are incredibly kind, humane, and highly effective at correcting severe behavioral issues. Today, I am so incredibly happy with how my once-crazy dog has turned out. Thanks to Brett, Lucy is a wonderful companion who listens perfectly, handles major environment changes like moving to Downtown LA beautifully, and doesn't react to other people or animals anymore. Having her in my life has truly become the amazing journey I always hoped it would be. If you are willing to put in the work on your end, Brett is absolutely the best master trainer you can find!

To start on a positive note: the instructors at Zoom Room Sherman Oaks are wonderful. They were kind, patient, knowledgeable, and great with my puppy. I truly have nothing negative to say about the training staff themselves. Unfortunately, management completely changed my perception of this business. When I first reached out about enrolling my puppy at just 3 months old, Diego was extremely responsive, accessible, and accommodating. At the time, it felt like he genuinely cared about helping me get started early and setting my puppy up for success. Looking back now, it feels more like the priority was simply making the sale. I purchased a 20-class package and completed about 10 sessions before I was involved in an accident that medically took me out for several months. Once I recovered enough to return, I was excited to continue training and finish the remaining sessions I had already paid for -- only to suddenly be told that my classes had "expired." Here's the issue: nowhere during the sales process do I remember this being clearly explained, nor is it something that stood out on their website when I enrolled. Had someone transparently told me, "These classes must be completed within X amount of time or you lose them," I would have understood the terms upfront. Instead, I was left feeling blindsided after dealing with a serious medical situation that was completely outside my control. What made this experience especially frustrating was how differently I was treated once I needed help instead of making a purchase. Diego suggested I contact the Culver City location because they are corporate-owned and might be able to approve an exception. Their staff was incredibly kind, empathetic, and accommodating. They even told me they personally did not understand why Sherman Oaks would not work with me given the circumstances surrounding my accident. Unfortunately, because Sherman Oaks is independently owned, Culver City could not override their decision. At that point, it became increasingly clear that Diego simply did not want to accommodate me. Communication suddenly became difficult. Calls to the office repeatedly went straight to voicemail for days. Messages went unanswered. The number Diego originally provided me to text him through stopped working entirely. Eventually, I called from my office phone instead of my personal number -- and magically the call finally rang through and Diego answered immediately. That moment honestly confirmed what I had already suspected: it truly felt like my number had been blocked to avoid speaking with me. That is beyond unprofessional. When I finally spoke to him, he initially pretended not to know who I was before quickly changing course and stating that "they" would not approve an exception. When I politely asked who "they" referred to, he avoided giving a direct answer. I asked for justification as to why a customer recovering from an accident could not simply finish sessions that were already paid for, especially when another Zoom Room location agreed the request was reasonable. His response was essentially: "Then go there instead." I have been nothing but polite throughout this entire process. I have supported this business from day one. Every class visit included additional purchases for my dog. Yet the moment I needed basic understanding and compassion, I was treated like an inconvenience. Eventually Diego admitted that he had made previous exceptions for me related to cancellations that were also outside my control. Somehow, instead of those accommodations demonstrating reasonable customer service, he used them as justification for why he would no longer help me. That mentality says everything. A good manager understands that life happens. Accidents happen. Medical emergencies happen. Especially in a business centered around pets, people, and community, you would hope kindness and empathy would matter more than rigid policies selectively enforced after payment has already been collected. This entire experience has completely changed my perception of Zoom Room Sherman Oaks. Again, the trainers are fantastic -- but management can absolutely ruin an otherwise great business. He told me that I could speak with Jillian (which I imagine is another manager), but he ended with, "but she won't be approving you either." I would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to speak directly with the owner of this location because this experience was handled terribly from start to finish. Until then, I would strongly encourage potential customers to think carefully before investing large amounts of money here. Based on my experience, the customer care disappears the moment flexibility, compassion, or accountability are needed.

Leo (Owner) and his amazing team of trainers TRULY care about the pups they train. Leo came to my home and wanted to meet me and my pups before I had to decide on making any decisions. After sitting down with him for about half an hour, I knew I found what I was looking for: Someone who wants me to have healthy and happy dogs. I signed up for the in-home training at first which is Leo coming to the house and training me on how to train my puppies (Archie and Charlie just turned 6 months and started with Leo and his team when they were 4.5). Very quickly, I realized I could not handle training both these puppies the way they needed to be trained. I discussed with Leo and decided to do a Board & Train. I like the schedule because I get to take the puppies on the weekends to spend time with me. Don't get me wrong, you NEED to train your pups on the weekends, but it's worth it and FUN. Archie has become the Puppy King (no offense to other puppies or their owners )). Charlie has a lot more energy, but has improved immensely! Leo's trainers are so caring. I feel my dogs get love with their training when they're not with me, and I couldn't ask for more. I see their excitement whenever I visit about improvements and milestones that Archie and Charlie achieved. They gleam with as much pride as I do. I honestly don't know where my pups OR I would be without the help of this AMAZING Team! If I could give 10 stars out of 5 stars, I would!

I can't say enough great things about Greg our trainer! He worked with my dog Truffle a couple of…read moreyears ago and gave us an amazing foundation. Fast Forward Life happened, routines changed, and I'll admit I wasn't consistent with continuing the training as I should have been. Over time, I started to notice some old behaviors creeping back in. Reached out for some fine-tuning, and within just a few days, my pup and I are completely back on track. It's incredible how quickly Greg was able to assess what was needed and get us refocused. Not only does he train the dog -- he gives us humans tools to succeed -- which makes all the difference (if you keep up the work). If you're looking for someone who truly cares about long-term results and is there when you need a reset, or help I highly recommend Greg! We're so grateful to have our confidence back and in a good rhythm again! Jas & Truffle

We cannot thank Gregg enough for the incredible work he did with our rescue German Shepherd puppy…read more We were struggling with significant leash pulling and dog aggression, but Gregg's impact was immediate--he showed us positive progress on the very first day. We opted for a one-week Board and Train program, and the results were night and day. Gregg kept us updated throughout the week, and by the time we picked her up, her leash manners and social aggression had improved drastically. Beyond the initial issues, Gregg went the extra mile by teaching her solid foundation commands. Gregg also performed a home visit to ensure the training transitioned to our home environment and successfully moderated a meet-and-greet with our neighbor's dog--something we had unsuccessfully attempted many times before. His methods were gentle and effective. We are so grateful for his help and highly recommend him. Thank you again Grgg
