We contacted the Spring Lake Manor on the recommendation of a family friend and are so pleased that we did. Our occasion sadly, was a memorial repast for a loved one. Working with John Nagle on just one or two quick phone calls or emails was a true pleasure. There are so many things to think about when a family member passes away but John made this so easy that the hardest choice was the color of the napkins on the table. Unlike a wedding or a shower, a memorial does not allow much time for planning and the amount of attendees is somewhat variable. John was very flexible and understanding in this regard. The venue is very pretty, the wait staff and bar staff were extremely professional and accommodating and the food was outstanding! We held a baby shower for my daughter at the beautiful Spring Lake Manor on 10/29/23. The folks who took care of our needs that day were wonderful. There were plenty of servers for the luncheon, the service was great, and the food was delicious! The room looked beautiful, with white linens on the tables, and black napkins to go with our Halloween theme; we provided the many small decorations and takeaways. The cake from Chocolate Carousel was delicious! I was impressed with the efficiency of the staff in both setting up the room and breaking it down for the next event, but we didn't feel rushed to leave.They were even kind enough to hide our surprise guest until he was announced! Our event was so much fun, with so many options to choose from, and run very efficiently and professionally. We had no worries! We definitely would host another event at Spring Lake Manor. read more

My Husband reserved here for their Mother's Day Brunch for our family of 4. We were so deeply disappointed. For $65.00 per person, we expected a good experience. When we eat out, I like to eat food I can't make at home. This buffet was basic. Scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, etc. They did serve a good prime rib. The table we were seated at, the tablecloth was stained. It appeared to not have been changed from the previous seating. The fabric chairs were also stained. The sugar bowl was chipped. There was no spoon offered to stir our coffee. The effect overall was shabby and dated. It was a throwback to the 80's. It was abundantly clear, we were at a wedding event venue that was capitalizing on Mother's Day. We were offered basic bare bones buffet food. For the price point, I expected common standards like a raw bar, charcuterie, at least bread and butter, maybe even croissants, salmon, chilled shrimp, pickles, olives. Not even these basic brunch buffet expectations were offered, only bagels. The selection was odd. Mimosas were $12 extra. I eat seafood. There was no cooked fish like salmon, no chilled lox. There was a seafood stirfry with shrimp and overcooked vegetables. I can make stirfry at home. Again, at this pricepoint, we expected high end offerings. For desserts, lots of dried crumbly pastry & donuts with the same creme piped in, just in different shapes and chocolate frosting thrown on, but no cheesecake, no creme brulee, no cake, none of the usual decadent choices we have come to expect. For $65.00 + 12.00 for a mimosa, we could have eaten at a high end steakhouse or oceanview seafood house by the water, or great Italian food with music. There was no music, just alot of families with young kids crying. The atmosphere and food does not justify the cost. Avoid. read more

OMG!!! We held a baby shower for my daughter on 7/21/24. Everything was beyond perfect. The Atlantic room was beautiful, the food was delicious, the Sangria was amazing, the cake was delicious (Chocolate Carousel Bakery). The servers were professional, the bartender (Jay) was the nicest, and everyone that worked there was pleasant and personable. I have to say that the owner (John) is a wonderful man and truly takes pride in the Spring Lake Manor. From beginning to end, he always welcomed us into the Manor whenever we stopped in and he made us feel at home. Lastly, a shout out to Jillian. THE BEST!!! Have had the chance to spend time here on two separate Holiday occasions. On each occasion the food was solid, nothing spectacular, but a good choice and prepared quite well. The staff is very friendly and hardworking, which is important during the crowded Holiday times. One negative is it is incredibly tight in the dining area. Regardless of when you eat here. There is literally not a seat in the house that you will not find yourself bumping into the people seated next to you, or nudged by a staff that has little or no room to maneuver. I recently held my moms repast at the Spring Lake Manor. From my first conversation with John, to our initial meeting (which was so quick and efficient), I knew I was at the right place. John and the staff took all the stress off my plate and simplified the planning process - all I had to do was choose a napkin color and bar package. That's it. John and staff took care of the rest. The night of the repast, all of the staff couldn't have been kinder. The food was exceptional and every single person in attendance commented on how great everything was. I have frequented this place quite a few times in the past for only certain occasions i.e. Weddings, meetings & functions. I cannot say that I have dined here on a "date". A good friend of mine invited me to a wealth management and tax advisory presentation by a local firm trying to recruit new clients. This event took place in one of the side rooms of the restaurant. Formerly known as The Forté, SLM has had a few owners in the last 40 years. Food presentation is pretty standard here. Crudité was available with beer or wine prior to the meal. Carole, our server, asked all present what their choices were for the main entrée. We opted for the beef platter with quinoa, green beans and carrots. The food is always above average but never gourmet: nothing out of the ordinary to my palate. I believe this venue caters mostly to weddings and events, mostly for larger affairs and their meals reflect that in their volume , though their prices are somewhat reasonable. Overpromised and Underdelivered The Spring Lake Manor was BY FAR the worst decision that I made for my wedding. First of all, despite spending ten of thousands of dollars, when you show up for your tasting the hostess will ask, "do you know how long you are going to be here? Because I had no idea you were coming". My future-in-laws actually looked shocked that the hostess was so blatantly rude. Three days before the wedding, I dropped off decorations. Janine (the maître de) dropped one of my candle holders and broke it. She didn't realize that my mom watched her do this when she wasn't looking, so she thought she could get away with lying to us. She told us it was broken when she opened the box. Now the candle was worth $15, it's not about money. I don't appreciate falsehoods told straight to my face. It's insulting and disrespectful. Two days before the wedding, it looks like it's going to rain. Janine happily told us that the back deck was covered, and that photographs could be taken there. It was a lie. The back deck covering was NOT sufficient to protect against rain. As a result, my entire wedding party got wet. Janine also failed to tell us that she offered the deck because she booked two events inside. Which meant we had no where to go to protect from the rain. My mother (who did most of Janine's job for her) complained, and thankfully we were granted access to the front hallway to take pictures at the very end of the inside event. As my entire wedding party is posing for pictures in the middle of a lobby, still half wet from Janine locking us outside, the guests from the other event walked right through our wedding party and exited the venue. By this time, my wedding guests are arriving. Janine had to sneak me, in my full wedding gown through the kitchen so they wouldn't see me. So unprofessional. Such a joke. They will claim there is no need for a rehearsal because Janine will be there. ANOTHER LIE. She gave no insight/direction pre lineup. My DJ saw us getting upset and nervous, and thankfully stepped in and did Janine's job for her. They will claim there is no need to hire a wedding coordinator, because Janine can do the job! Another lie. If she COULD do the job of a wedding coordinator, I'm pretty sure she would have remembered to give our Best Man the RINGS. Instead, my bridesmaid had to army crawl across the ceremony to the bridal suite to grab them. As if she had an actual goal to prove that she should work in an another industry, Janine spent the rest of the wedding missing. I wasted a half hour of my own wedding desperately asking random waiters where she was. Someone spilled a drink at out sweetheart table, and my husband and I had to desperately beg three different employes for help, because Janine was missing. Again. We ended up standing there awkwardly by the sweetheart table for 10 minutes while our food got cold. The service was so bad that the catering manager (the only competent employee in the entire establishment) took pity on us and offered to help pack up and deliver our decorations. He must be used to having to compensate for incompetence. I cannot believe that I was lied to and treated like a patron at TGI Fridays on my wedding day. John, the owner, should have considered a career in politics, as hospitality is certainly not his strong suit. When I called him to complain about the plethora of mistakes his lying employee made, he basically gave non answers and defended the deceit. The canopy that Janine told me that we could pose under? According to John, that was never weather proof! When I asked him why Janine lied to me and said otherwise (especially because I could have just went to convention hall for pictures instead), he didn't have an answer. He refunded me Janie's $500 fee, which is literally the bare minimum he could do. When people don't do there jobs, their fee shouldn't be charged. I was not satisfied with the resolution at all. You are spending a lot of money on your wedding. You deserve to feel important and respected. With that being said, please don't make the same mistake I made! read more

We held a birthday party at the Spring Lake Manor in the Club room. Everyone was amazing to work with and the whole event was terrific. They are so accommodating, the room was awesome, and the food and service absolutely perfect. They make it so easy ! All of our guests were so impressed and told us over and over how great it was. We displayed pictures on poster boards and they had easels for us, we ordered balloons from the Jersey Shore Party Shop and they were there and set up, and the head server Anthony was so attentive. read more

The Atlantic Room looked AWESOME. Pink everywhere. His Staff was equally receptive to our vision. Their service was perfect. Always smiling and willing to satisfy any thing we needed. We choose 3 different entrees. They were delivered hot and they were delicious. Our guests were raving about their meals. My daughter and I were very happy we choose Spring Lake Manor. Any future family events, I will first check with John at Spring Lake Manor for availability. PS. Our decorative balloons from Where's The Party At? I had my daughter's baby shower in the Atlantic room at the Spring Lake Manor on December 7, 2019. The inside is absolutely beautiful. The neutral color palette of the room serves as a beautiful background for any Decor. The staff was fantastic and our hostess Suzanne was not only a delightful person but she was so helpful and instrumental keeping the party flowing properly and timely. She came to me and asked me when I wanted the food served, the cake served, when I wanted things to be cleaned up. I cannot say enough about her and the rest of the staff. The food was fantastic!. All of my guests were raving about the food. We had a brunch with an omelette station, French toast, bacon, sausage, potatoes, three different salads, all sorts of donuts and pastries and coffee, chicken Francaise, 'shrimp and scallop scampi, and penne vodka. My sister-in-law who is a chef was very impressed and enjoyed the food immensely. That says a lot! I highly recommend this for any of your events or occasions you will not be disappointed and the service is absolutely phenomenal. The Spring Lake Manor gets 5 stars from me. I booked an event there last year. Started the meeting to plan the event with a woman (can't remember her name) a man came into the room (who turned out to be John) and started talking over the woman (like why was she there). He never even looked at us just ran off what sounded like a memorized speech. We did book because the place was nice and the price was right. After we booked I got a call from John stating that the place was doubled booked for the day which we chose. For changing our date he offered us a free mimosa or sangria per adult plus asst homemade cookies, brownies, Cannoli & Biscotti at no cost. Our original contract stated unlimited soft drinks, juice and 2 cakes. We were to go to there bakery of choice, however, because they didn't want to be responsible for ordering the cake wrong. Fast forward to the event. First I get a call from the bakery looking for payment on the cakes. I advised them that it was part of the contract with the venue. They called the venue and they said it wasn't ( it is on the contract ). Anyway I agreed to pay for one of the cakes just to end it ( I would take it up with the venue at a later date ). The day of the event I am sitting at my table and I mentioned to one of the woman sitting next to me that there was no soda pitchers on the table and she told me "I just paid $2.00 for a glass of soda at the bar". I then went to the office and asked John if I could see the signed contract and he asked me what the problem was and I said the soda. He then went to the computer and after a few quick keystrokes printed out a contract which stated that we were being charged $1.00 per glass of soda. I immediately went to the bartender (because I knew that she was charging $2.00) with him behind me and he yells to her "don't remember her name" you are charging $1.00 per glass of soda right. I asked him why did you change the contract from the previous Monday when you had a signed contract and he said to me that we were getting free Mimosa. RECAP: Contract stated (boy I wish I could show it here) Unlimited soft drinks & assorted juices -- CHARGED FOR THE SODA 2 Sheet cakes (client to order through (his bakery of choice) - GOT CHARGED FOR 1 CAKE. The only plus is that the affair was a reunion of 200+ woman and they don't forget. For a man (John) that supposedly has managed or owned many venues (according to him) I was disappointed in the manner that he handled this situation. read more

Look no further if you are interested in a great venue for any occasion. From start to finish a great experience with the entire staff. My family recently suffered the loss of our 103 year old father, and husband to our mother of 67 years. We were truly blessed to have him our lives for so long. As a Spring Lake Heights residence it was an easy choice to select the Manor for our repast dinner. My family met with Mr. Nagle prior to our event, and he and his staff treated us like family. This help ease the pain that we were all going through with the loss of our dad. Mr. Nagle reassured us that everything would be in place for our event. He did delivered on his word from the picking up of flowers to the setting up of tables and the screen to project pictures. Not to mention that the food was outstanding fresh and cooked to perfection. Just had my wedding reception here. After lokking at 20 venues we chose Spring lake Manor and it turned out to be the best decision i could have made. The service was superb. Food was gourmet. We recently moved here and had an off site party at our home in Sea Girt with about sixty guests. We used Spring Lake Manor for the first time to cater the party. We were extremely pleased with their food, execution and service. First, they accomodated our request to make a few items specifically to the theme of the party which were not necessarily on the menu. Not to mention, they made great suggestions for anything addtional and portions were on target. The food was delicious and just right for the occasion. The second we walked into The Spring Lake Manor we knew it was our Wedding Venue for our 10/6/18 wedding. John and Janine were incredible in taking care of everything we could possibly need or think of. Through the year before our wedding Janine answered all our questions and helped us plan so we could execute our vision. The result was beyond our expectations and walking into the venue on the day and seeing everything setup just how we imagined it set the tone for the rest of the incredible night. Working with Janine is like having an extremely friendly extremely organized wedding planner with no added cost and absolutely no added stress. The venue itself is gorgeous, we got married in the ballroom and they quickly and seamlessly turned it around for our amazing reception while we were in the cocktail hour. We cannot say enough about how amazing and delicious the food is during both the cocktail hour and the reception and thanks to Janine all the timing was great. The place has great pricing, John is an absolute delight to work with. Every single time we called or came in with questions or updates we got what felt like VIP treatment. Having the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception AND after party in the same location is such a nice bonus because all our guests really enjoyed every part of it start to finish.
