Eight here again a couple nights ago only this time brought a friend who was unfamiliar with the cuisine. This was about my sixth or seventh visit and every time it has been a new, wonderful experience. The service was wonderful, the food excellent every time I've been here, and the Turkish coffee is something you just have to try. I think I've tried about half the menu and have yet to find anything that isn't good. For me the only drawback is having to make a decision. On a couple of occasions that you've been busy with much of the area filled, but I've never had a bad experience nor suffered by having to wait. I'm not sure how these falafel or prepared, but they are different and better than any I've ever had. That may be the only constant in dinner choices, when I come here it is absolutely necessary to have full awful as an appetizer, or sometimes, as a main course. Very enjoyable and highly recommended. I will definitely return. My friend, found it very enjoyable, filling in different. I would not be surprised if he became a repeat customer. read more

It's watered down falafel (MEANING THE FLAVOR NOT THE TEXTURE). I can never understand why ethnic foods of any type are watered down because people don't like spices, salt and flavor. When compared to other places, its ok. A bit overpriced for something basic. I can understand how its good if you've never had the authentic version but me thinks not. Had dinner here this evening and it was amazing! Falafel bigger than a golf ball and oh so tasty. The Israeli salad was seasoned perfectly and the pita sandwich was excellent. The owners were there chatting with us under a beautiful awning on a summer evening and it was very pleasant. Try this special restaurant out and bring the whole family. We love this place ! The food is made fresh and the service is EXCEPTIONAL!! The stuffed grape leaves are my personal favorite. The kabobs are delish and the salads are top notch. Simply amazing food in upstate New York! If your in the area, specially if your visiting Warwick, this is the place to come... convenient located and a great place for authentic Mediterranean food... I have been going to Allans Falafel for years since they first opened. We love their fresh delicious food and service, and was excited when they were able to expand. We have been to plenty of places that serves Falafel but had no idea this spot was gonna be so good. We ordered the Falafel and the grilled chicken cutlet entrees. Both dishes comes with pita bread, rice or fries ( we chose the rice), green salad( so good with the honey dijon kind of dressing), hummus, and the tahini salad ( cucumber and chopped tomatoes in some kind of creamy dressing). What a excellent lunch to start my day and very filling at a great price. Also, loved the fact that you can see them make your food right over the counter and it's fresh. "Oh my gods the stuffed grape leaves!" We sought authentic and delicious Israeli food for our wedding rehearsal dinner and our wedding planner recommended Allan's. A quick stop, talk and (most importantly) TASTE with the handsome Israeli owner and we were sold! Not only were he and his staff exceedingly courteous, but the food there is absolutely phenomenal - freshly made, perfectly cooked and seasoned, crispy-outside-melt-in-your-mouth falafel and oh my gods the stuffed grape leaves! Turns out, not only do they cater, but they were willing to deliver it all the way to Newburgh for no extra charge! I can't wait for the wedding in October, and the chance to share this delectable find with all my family and friends. Needless to say, every trip upstate since then has inevitably included a stop at Allan's and some mouthwateringly amazing Israeli food - and every time we stop, they remember us, too =) read more

Ok, first I want to say I should've written a review a long time ago. My husband & I are semi new to hudson valley, 5 yrs in now. We're in Maybrook, and our aunt referred us to Allen's spot, and OMG! We were instantly hooked. We're the cpl that comes in at times straight from work even with our uniforms still on Lol. We work for The Fire Department Of New York (FDNY/EMS) . Every time we come he & his wife are always so kind to us. Even took the time to thank us for the hard work we do. (That was really sweet) So on to the food! The most freshest most unique & authentic tasting I've ever had.. I've almost tried everything on the menu, and delicious! We live about a half hour ride from home, and when we crave Allan's Falafel it's all worth the drive! It's a comfy peaceful small spot.. We Love it.. Can't wait till our next visit yumm! I have had much better Middle Eastern food elsewhere. the hummus was not anywhere as delicious as other places I've been. the Israeli salad was very good. the service was excellent. there were pillows everywhere which was very nice. We bought a supreme platter so we could try all of the different salads. the chicken was delicious. I got Chicken cutlet and my friend got chicken kabob which tasted similar. overall I guess the food wasn't too bad and there were a lot of leftovers. It just seemed like a lot of money $50 for 2 people for lunch. we did have an appetizer which was lamb meat and hummus with pita bread. The pita bread was not made in house. No. Just food. read more

Solid falafel, yummy hummus, fresh salads, really friendly staff; I ordered the falafel plate which is a fair amount of food actually and I'd recommend that for a veg meal. Returned and had the Shawarma/ Gyro Platter. Stupendous-- this is the real thing, again, not that processed balogni that everyone uses these days. Real beef that Allan puts through a three day process which ends with a gloriously spiced layered concoction of beef roasting away and filling the kitchen with heavanly scents. Really refreshing to see something out of the norm for this area. Had heard from a few people that the food here was well worth the visit. We found ourselves in Chester the other night so we thought we'd give it a try. I went with the Shawarma Pita with Fries DW went with the Chicken Kufta Kabab. Both of our meals were prepared fresh and the scent of the food on the drive home was hypnotizing. The chicken Kababs were the better of the two meals although both meals tasted awesome. There was enough chicken to feed a small army. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will definitely be returning to Allan's in the future. We travel 40min fr Jersey for Allan's falafel and babaghanoush. And I am not a fan of chicken kebab except for here where the chicken is a hearty size yet is so tender! Even my 8 yr old recognizes the quality. The staff is sweet & the owner is both friendly & kind. Anytime we're in the area we make sure to stop by. This review is long overdue! I moved to Chicago about a year ago, but prior to that I worked and lived in NY very close to Allan's Falafel. Lucky me! This place is amazing! The food is fresh and flavorful. They are always fast and the food is made to order. I recently went to Israel and while I had some amazing food there, trust me when I say that nothing compares to Allan's. Allan (and his wife) are both very friendly and they make you feel like family. Great food and great company; you guys are the best! Every town has take-out. Every town has fast food. I am so thankful that we also have Allan's! Fresh, delicious, healthy food that I and any friend that visits continuously enjoy. I've tried a good amount of the menu items and have never been disappointed! I'll always have my favorites, the spice on the chicken cannot be beat. The hummus is so fresh , I'll sometimes order a large to keep in the house for the week. The stuffed grape leaves are tender and full of flavor. I'm usually disappointed with eating any at other restaurants! No matter what you get , make sure you order a side of the falafel. Always a crispy outside and soft on the inside - perfect. The only thing I love more than my boyfriend in New York! I've been back and forth between CA & NY allot over the past 4 months and I've probably been here at least 12 times. The pita's are the best pitas I've ever had in my life. I've had the falafel pita and a chicken pita and both were DELICIOUS!!!! The way the pita is layered with FRESH veggies, hummus, insanely good pickles and your falafel or meat is perfect. Every bite gets better and better.
