    Too many clams
    Samuel P.

My favorite part about the place was the chalk pizza peal with a bunch of games on it, it was really innovative, just remember to check the walls. The mozzarella sticks were just alright, they tasted kind of reheated, but it was $11 for something like 8, and the marinara was really sweet and good. I thought they had calamari, but I didn't see it on the menu. Either I missed it or they just don't have it. SO MANY FREAKING FRIED CLAM STRIPS. I don't know how they even fit so many on the plate, and for $15, I feel like they spend $30 just for the clams themselves, let alone the sides. In the beginning, the waitress talking to a co-worker instead of getting our drinks, but she didn't take too long, and was otherwise quick with getting everything else. The place was... cozy? Small, but it had a nice feel. Felt very authentic for Maine food. Dr. Pepper was good.

We drive by Johnson's often and thought it was time to checkout the local establishment. When I say local, I mean it. When we walked in, we were greeted with many eyes. Swear there was a moment of silence as we walked in. The staff were busy getting food delivered to tables and we were seated. Mostly table seating and a few booths. (Could be wrong about that ) The menu is huge with a lot of variety. How big is that kitchen. Reminded me of a local spot in Portland. Seafood, poultry, meat options. You name it and it was on the menu. Lot of butter options. Our server, Michelle was awesome. Great personality and attentive. She really made our experience. Fried pickles were a good starter to the meal. I went with the baked haddock sandwich to cut down on the butter sauce. Ate it more as an open face than a sandwich. My partner ordered the fish and chips and was confused when offered two sides. So, you just need to add the fries and a second side to make it fish and chips. All good we shared fries. So, a nice local establishment worthy of a visit if you are in town.

Damn this place was amazing. I ordered the lobster roll and it had so much lobster meat, it looked like it was going to jump out at me. Waiter was super kind and knowledgeable of the menu

Snagged dinner at Johnson's last night and was pleasantly surprised! The helpings are generous - we chose fried pickles and onion nuggets. These were HUGE helpings! We didn't even make a dent in either of them. I got a bacon cheese burger and boy was it juicy! My husband chose the Buffalo chicken wrap and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor! We were a bit sad that the fried pickles didn't come with any sauce, maybe they just forgot it. No problem at all. We'll be back!

Looks like they are generally open 9am-6pm daily, sometime early May through year end. Order at the counter inside their little shop, pay, and head down the little alley (hold on tightly to your stuff so you don't accidentally drop anything enroute) to their back deck with limited seating, and access to their bathrooms. Listen up for your name and they will bring you your food on a tray. A family of three shared the 3 chicken lobsters for $50 during the 2025 season, and a dozen raw oysters for $30. My single lobster was $18. Single oysters $3 apiece. Creamy clam chowder $7. Stuffed clam $3. The $30 cold lobster roll came with cole slaw and a bag of chips. The hot dog roll looked small but was well filled with fresh sweet lobster meat. Her smoked salmon $8 were two thick chunks of fish. My hot in-shell boiled lobster arrived several minutes after, pre-cracked. Carefully poured out the green water, and I went at it. Making use of the sink by the bathroom afterwards to get cleaned up. A delicious way to start our outing to Rockport! BTW parking in the nearby area is paid and seasonal. Head to the kiosk, enter the license plate, pay an affordable price, and stick the slip on your dashboard. Parking tickets are no fun.

His replies were delayed, his tone was monotone, and he did not seem confident with the menu. When my wife asked if they had the blueberry beer, he took the menu from the table and stood there reading it silently instead of checking with the bartender. Later, when my wife went to modify a dish, he said he was not sure they could do that. She told him, "I know they can. I do this every time I am here," and that is when he mentioned he had only been working there a few months. It explained the uncertainty, but it did not make the interaction smoother. The strangest moment was when I said I did not like the club soda. He came back and said, "Since you do not like the club soda you will not like the flat water, so I brought you a sparkling bottle instead since it is the same price." It was not rude. It was simply a very odd assumption and not something I have ever had a server decide on their own. On the positive side, the star of the meal, and honestly every time we come, is the shrimp cocktail. Huge shrimp served over crushed ice with cocktail sauce and extra horseradish. The shrimp were incredibly fresh, very firm, and had that perfect crunch with each bite. Absolutely delicious. The kitchen continues to deliver, and the rest of the staff seemed great, but the service at our table did not match the usual experience. We will be back for the food, especially that shrimp cocktail, but hopefully with a more confident and consistent front of house experience next time.

07-14-26 Review My girlfriend wanted to go to Bob's today…read more I did not. I agreed. She wanted fried clams. I did not order anything. She ordered the clam basket with fries and coleslaw for the paltry sum of $38.00. Seriously? What are the clams made of? Gold? Diamonds? She also had dessert. Cheesecake for $9.00. In my opinion, these prices are "highway robbery". I've lived in Windham for years, and because Bob's is the only seafood restaurant in town, they get away with charging "tourist prices". 10-05-24 Review Remember the seminal television series "Cheers," where everyone knows your name, and they're always glad you came? That's a complete 180 in contrast to Bob's. They couldn't care less about who you are and why you're there. My server tonight was Haley. Her focus was on taking selfies of herself and being coy with the boys. As her customer, she shows zero interest. It was like she couldn't wait for her shift to end. That said, Bob's fare is mediocre and overpriced. I won't be back. Two thumbs down.
